Lloyd and Marta. but they only count as the final boss if you beat them otherwise the game continues on to ratatosk who is NOT the final boss because you can lose to him and still get the same ending. but if you manage to beat Lloyd and Marta you get the bad ending. it's a rare example of the bad ending being harder to get than the good ending.

@Plasmi999 i agree with both, mithos and collete are good direct and long range attackers, kratos would be good for strong hits like ike does, lloyd could be a little damage multi striker like marth, emil would an inbetween fighter(i think both him in and out of ratatosk mode should be characters, or at least seperate forms) and how his ratatosk mode would have a few less strikes and uses ain soph aur for final, and the normal emil just uses the full version of devil's hellfire for final,

I think the name "Wilderness of Sadness" just has to do with the fact that pain and sadness was the thing that notable in Ritcher's character more than anything else.. and that he had gotten lost in it. Though that's just a personal interpretation.

Richter was so hurt that he got lost in his anger and sadness.

Like Presea and Regal said near the end of ToS, it's easier to hate than to forgive.

But I see something else in Richter.

Even if he got lost in his suffering, he was willing to sacrifice himself for Aster and the world.

I think Richter is the most noble antagonist, much more than Mithos.

Marta didn't have a fake core, Emil called it fake because Tenebrae said Ratatosk practically used Marta as a decoy and he blamed himself for putting her in danger, but the core actually contains half of Ratatosk's power, as stated by Richter in the Best Ending, that's why Marta was able tot use magic and interact with objects related to Ratatosk, like the Stone Dias or the Centurion Cores.

Symphonia states that mana is the base of all life in Aselia (Sylvarant and Tethe'Alla), but Phantasia states mana is only the source of magic power and Summon Spirits, and in Cress' time mana no longer exists but life still does, meaning Ratatosk did rewrite the laws of nature so that no life would need mana to survive.

but a spinoff usually means things didn't have the same structure as the original game, usually only the same characters. For example, the spinoff to MGS was Acid, and didn't connect to any other MGS storyline.

ToS:KoR is a sequel in full because it follows the same unaltered storyline. Shorter game, sure. Different enemies? well, since the world reconnected that becomes kinda obvious, so yes. But it is a sequel nonetheless.

Fuzzi Philosophy time:

The name of the song derives from the fact that Emil is forced to fight against someone he considers a dear friend, if not his saviour given the events earlier in the game. He almost refuses to see Richter as an enemy because of this. Because Emil's just sort of... 'there,' he's never really had to fight a conflict like this, decisively fighting against a dear friend- hence; the Wilderness of Sadness.
