That was the entire point of making himself the embodiment of all evil that Brittania represented. He had to die to atone for all the sins that not only he committed, but the world created. There was no way he could live with himself after all he did. In a way, he became a fusion of Jesus and Hitler.
@pskion I'm not trying to troll, but I wouldn't say he's a fusion of those 2. I would say he's more Like a younger version of Ozymandis with a bit of Dr. Doom. He tried flaunting around like a asshole, and eventually saw what he had to do. But I think the creators were taking the easy way out. Like Dr. Manhattan says in Watchmen "Nothing truly ever ends."

So...instead of him dying peacefully and probably eventually meeting his family and friends in the after life he would be cursed to walk the earth forever as an immortal? Oh yes he would have his remaining friends and family. Until they die from mortality. Then what? He would walk the earth forever never able to show his face without being hated.

However the theory is, when he killed his father who had already killed the other immortal and became immortal. He can immortality. Which if this is true then he and C2 can live together forever. Good concept, I loved both CG and DH, the only problem i noticed is a lack of sync, some scenes felt like they where in there just to fill up a part of the song, with that said Its still better than most of the crap AMV's I've seen.
