  • DT!!!!!!THE BEST<3

  • this song and the answer lies within make me tear up

  • 1:28 .....and all that may Joe....

  • I've made a drum cover of this song, if you can please watch it and give some opinion, i'll be thankfull, this is the link watch?v=SF5BTih2g90 this is no spam, thanks :)

  • 3:02 Scratch and Sniff moment as he sings, "when everything is wrong..." BRILLIANT!!!!!!

  • I walk beside you. Wherever you are. Whatever it takes. No matter how far. Through all that may come. And all that may go. I walk beside you. ♪ ♫ ♪ *-----*

  • 3:02 skirt in the ass! I hate them, you?

but i real pro singer is a real pro singer.

  • @carlocki01

LMAO man, I would never ever notice something like that...your fault when you suggested to take a look at threepointtwo...and even my bigger fault when I did seek your suggestion there!! LMAO

(noto solo ora che potevo scrivere in ITA, BWAHAHAHAHAH !)

  • gr8 trac

  • This song is the only one I press "skip" from DT. Too much U2'ish for my taste.

  • @Castufas And you liked the rest of the album... geez.... fucking kids

  • @mqmqmwmw ??? Yes I liked the rest of the album...What's the big deal? (by the way I'm 44 years old)

  • Love this song too much, despite being an old fan.

I follow their career since 'Pull me under' was released.

I can't understand why an old fan can not appreciate newer DT stuff.

This sounds like 'Lifting shadows off a dream', 'Speak to me' and 'a bit 'New millenium', that are too influenced partially by U2.

  • OMG I can actually hear the bass.

  • @Skee777 Lol yeah ;), distinctively, me too.

  • Mike Portnoy looks like a truck driver

  • very U2esque

  • it sounds like a u2

  • Mi amor este es nuestra cancion,

yo tambien quiero caminar junto a ti,

pronto estaremos juntos otra vez. Yo tambien TE AMO KLS

  • Such an cheery and uplifting song especially when they change key during one of the last chorus.

  • Mike is a great musician... Wish him the best in the future.

  • am i the only one that find this so so appealing that i have to hear this at least 100 times a day

  • De ms favoritas *-*

  • This is a great metal song by a great prog metal band........

  • 9 people had nobody to walk beside.

  • @zorakkillsyou lol

  • @zorakkillsyou I have noboy to walk besieds to anymore :( But still pressed like because my feelings for her never changed

  • @zorakkillsyou I have noboy to walk besieds to anymore :( But still pressed like because my feelings for her never changed and its an awesome song from an awesome band

  • R.I.P Mike Portnoy

  • Our song, our love. I will always walk beside you! I miss you! :'(

  • first time hearing about dream theater was seeing them live i was like got to look these guys up lol

  • Dream Theater is a musician's Dream Team

  • oh what a concert....my dad brokes his hands

  • 3:35.

That key change gives me a boner.

  • @legendofzelda101 i have to say i almost pissed my pants reading that

  • STUNNING TALENT, quite so. I don't like all their stuff. But it's quite obvious they are several steps ahead musically from most every other band. Common folks don't want to hear advanced forms of music. They want to hear schlok, and even ..gasp.. Rap, where they don't even play instruments. People are idiots. I don't listen to Beethoven, but I would never suggest he wasn't a fucken genius. I'm getting a taste for this band. They kick prog ass.

  • Good Bye Mike, we will miss you... :'(

  • @vergilbass ?????

  • @vergilbass now i red this shitty news.....impossible....

  • @vergilbass the man is alive pal!!

  • At the chorus modulation I felt like LaBrie was struggling, but the highest note at 3:48 just destroyed all doubt. Again. I love this band, and every member in it, and all their work in this group and in others.

And while I doubt this song was written with a Christian aspect in mind, it's definetly something that could be interpreted as such. I always felt it was someone talking to their stressed-out spouse.

  • @ShreddingDragon That makes sense, because the part of Octavarium that refers to this song is:

    (Fourth)

    Loyalty, trust, faith and desire

Carries love through each darkest fire

  • This song is about Jesus! =)

  • i still wish it was my wedding song...

  • Great! \m/

  • This piece is fantastic. I love the sound and the vocals, and I definitely get emotionally high at the progressing points (refrain, like 1:32, 2:49, 3.53). DT would be the better U2 if they wanted to. Unfortunately, DT is a different beast (I love them anyway).

  • These vocals are fantastic... Even better than the Score version perhaps

  • This is for me and you DEW...love ya...always. *DT is the best*

  • Im from brazil and meet dream for last time, have someone songs on melody is the same with orther musics i dont speak that dream bad band but the Labrie cant singer for high notes

  • @victorparca

    troll harder

  • @Kapop1

yeah, that's what you do... :)

  • @victorparca He used to have a greater vocal range but that goes with age and obviously the famous 94' food poisoning incident could have something to do with it...

  • Sin Palabras!! DT son la banda con mas talento de nuestros dias!!! "i walk beside you, wherever you are whatever it takes, no matter how far....!!"

  • DT is THE GREATEST....

  • Gotta love the voice harmonies. :)

  • sick

  • portnooooooooooy, mike

  • i know it's just a cheap stage trick, but i love Rudess' moving keyboard platform. :D

  • A mi novio le gusta esta banda y la letra del tema es muy linda!!

  • temazo

  • temazo

  • to anyone who likes dream theater they will probably like muse. theyre basically the same style of music except dream theater is a bit heavier in most songs, i love both bands. but most of muses old stuff and dream theater's newer stuff

  • LOL

  • @Apersonnamedbob muse sounds completely different, except maybe some octavarium songs lol i can't listen to muse even if i try hard, they're just too boring for my likes

  • labrie at 3:03

    haha

    nice ass scratch

  • he was adjusting his wireless silly

  • @benparkrawr but its look funny FAG

  • beautiful lyrics... it's a nice music...

  • gonna send this song to the girl i like :D

  • awesome song, i gonna learn this song on bass

  • AWESOME!

  • awesome!

  • This is my favorite song :)

  • This song is truly gorgeous...great electric riff, haunting synthesizer arrangement and soaring vocals. Then we have Portnoy, who is actually playing in the pocket...rare for him. Brilliant tune.

  • portnoy tries to stay near the pocket for their more pop oriented tracks. or should i say more radio oriented tracks. (the few of them...lol)

  • amazing song.

have u guys ever heard of the prog band porcupine tree?

if u havent, go check them out now.

that was random, but i think that they are equal or better than dream theater

  • Lol? There isn't any Progressive Metal band in the world, which is nearly as good as DT !!! Not Symphony X, not Riverside, not Porcupime Tree ! Dream Theater rocks ;) The others are wannabees :>

  • Comment removed

  • Are you kidding? xD

Have you listened to Tool, for example?

  • As much as I love Dream Theater I can not agree with that statment. Symphony X, and Riverside are not as good as Dream Theater. However bands such as 3, Porcupine Tree, Andromeda, Pain of Salvation and Age of Nemesis are just as good if not better that Dream Theater.

  • none of them can write as well as dream theater, none of them plays with feeling like dream theater do, none of them are as talented as dream theater, if you preffer them then thats fine, but believe me, dream theater are the music masters.

  • So true....im sure all bands wish they could have such great chemistry. DT are the best in my opinion as well.

  • @ahigherstate fuck off! Riverside is amazing band! they're from Poland (my country) so there's no other way- they must be genious! -.-

btw. I love these song- one of my favourites from dream theater

  • DT may be the most skilled individuals but I think Tool has more advanced arrangements but music is alot about taste so there is no "Best" band.

  • porcupine tree is da bomb, dt too, they both rox!

  • awasome!

  • que gran banda por dios!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • celeste te kieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! mucho mucho mucho mucho

I walk beside you, wherever you are, whatever it takes, NO MATTER HOW FAR

  • No words to describe this song, music is just phenomenal, lyrics: all what you have to say in the very right moment to a needy person...(needy of love, friendship, attention, moral support...) some time ago somebody did help me to discover Dream Theater's music with this song...that was a gift. Thank you HM!! I miss you :( =)=)

  • this song reminds me U2 style:-)

  • not even in dreams...no way : ) regards!!

  • You are right, I've heard JP saying in an interview that the octavarium album has some influences from U2 and coldplay. Listen at 2:02, the guitar part is almost the same as the guitar harmonics in U2's Vertigo. But it remains DT's sound and style.

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone who has decent taste in music even if they don`t like dream theater who does`nt like this song must have their ears painted on! There are too many words to describe just how amazing this song is.

  • beautiful song. . .when youre in love with a girl (or with a man, if youre homo), this is the song

    believe me

  • Fuckin' rediculosuly, awesome. Period. Two Periods.

  • Very good song:)

  • all hail amazing james labrie! flawless whatever haters say!

  • U2 should cover this. And then the masters become the apprentices

  • Great Performance. I love this song!

  • ...I walk beside you

    wherever you are

    whatever it takes

    no matter how far

    through all that may come

    and all that may go

    I walk beside you

    I walk beside you...

  • very very very very very very nice song

  • the lyrics.. the voice.. just everything bout this song is great & lovely!!

  • This is my favorite dream theater song

  • where can i get this dvd?????????????????????

  • mike beardnoy

  • crappy footage

  • the distinct lack of petrucci footage in this video confuses and infuriates me...

  • Bellissima ^_^

  • the base sound here have too much treble and its annoying

  • Great melodies, stunning instrumentation, soaring vocals....what is not to like in the mighty Dream Theater?!!!!!!!!

  • well said mate:)

  • John Petrucci FTW, dream theater is the best band ever, The lyrics for this song r also so amazing!

  • lol i heard austrian-german pop duo 'Deutsch-Österreichisches Feingefühl' are performing this at eurovison. speculation/hear say ;)

  • I will fight ANYONE who Disrespects Dream Theater.

  • No, Do not do it dude.

Dream theater defends itself with their stunning talent. They dont need fans fighting for them..Anyone knows what dream theater is...The best band ever.period...

  • @felipe6686 Best band ever indeed

  • dude i dont think there are dream theater haters out there thats how good they are

  • there are haters out there for every band especially when they're really good

  • unfortunately :/

  • io adoro i dream theater da sempre e devo dire che anche questa canzone è fantastica... facendo prog spaziano in tutti i generi e questa sembra scritta dagli U2! la più bella di tutte però è spirit carries on....

  • yeapp...

  • my girl loves this song..xD

  • essa música é realmente incrível....

    Parabens DT!!!

  • yeah

  • Comment removed

  • I love this song, but the riff is copied on Silence, by Abydos.

  • This is my husband's fav band, wasn't really too into them til i heard this song. Love it!

  • you are the gayest fan theyve ever had

Its about honest, true friendship, its a song from Petrucci to Portnoy because of Portnoys alcohol addiction.

yes, its not progressive, but has anyone said they HAVE to play extremely progressive ALL the time?`

Go listen to As I Am, Understand the song, and FUCK OFF cause people like you dont deserve to listen to a band as broad and wide as Dream Theater.

  • ok, dont you think, that having now almost 10 cds plus all singles and stuff, isnt boring being on the same way?, this kinds of songs are the ones that make balance on a band, if you dont know anything about having a band, then fuck off

  • being proggresive can be many things, you can have happy songs like lines in the sand or ballads like wait for sleep or heavy stuff like panic attack or epic like octavarium, etc.. . and still be proggresive, this song could simply not exist and that wouldn't make them boring, I don't like this song it's not like dream theater it doesn't have anything in common with the rest of DT, it's like a sold-out song

  • well try at least to compose a song like that, at least, it has more complex structure that you think, i tell you because im a musician, i compose songs, and even though, i cant compose like that because is other level, lol.

  • almost every band has atleast one song what stands out from the rest, dream theater are a mixture of many things, alot of there songs are very emotional, while some are just epic.. this goes with one of their emotional songs and this is proggresive rock

  • metal1583 said: "yes they have to be extremely proggresive all the time because that's what made them famous"

that's a retarded thing to say. a band can do whatever the fuck they want, regardless of of what they did before or how famous it might have made them. you just made that lame reply to try and cover your dumb ass

  • how is this song the gayest thing that ever happened to dream theater?

Its probably one of their best songs.

  • I really like this song

  • Idiot.

  • lol the panic attack/i walk beside you thing was funny. but dont hate :)

  • FIrst i didn't realize what was wrong, but something was really wrong. Then i realized. Bass. Myung. EVERYWHERE.

  • was this score?

  • U2 or Dream Theater?

  • DT men, ever

  • MY faves would be Take The Time, Another Day, Metropolis pt 1, Surrounded, Through Her Eyes, Strange Deja Vu, Scarred, Space Dye Vest, 6:00, Octavarium, A Change of Seasons, Solitary Shell, Goodnight Kiss, Overture....... fuck, way too many to keep track of.

  • I love this band and this song, but the riff is obviously inspired by Silence by Abydos...
