@bertoxx11 It's 'Nature' because it is part of the acronym N.I.T.A. And, nature is a phenomena not an idea. In any case it's part of a lyric so I wouldn't look for too literal an interpretation anyway - or are you really that much of a pedant?
"An age of loud punk posturing"?? There wasn't much of that around by 1980! You need to recall the bombastic crap that was around before punk came along! Punk's acoustic spikiness prepared our ears for minimalism: no punk, no YMGs.
@Kat151 Sid Vicious died in 79 though, and the rest of it sorta went with him not long after though. It paved the way for other new-wavey and experimental things like YMG or the Smiths or what have you to do things that would later influence the modern indie scene.
It's just that the popularity of the British Oy! stuff kinda went into a decline during the 80s. When I think "80s punk" I think DC with Minor Threat, LA with the Dead Kennedys etc.
@fruitbatrepublic Since when has musical talent been a prerequisite for being a punk? As though it's even that hard to play bar chords and yell a lot in the first place...
@fruitbatrepublic don't you understand? Punk was about the movement, the anger, the "fuck this shit" feeling. The music was just a product, it was more political than musical. Similar to the the acid-rock of the sixties, but that was more of an interconnected, synchronicity movement.... well, it was psychedelia. I have in my life, found myself very interested in both movements. As a very angst-ridden preteen, I promoted punk and anarchy, some time went by and now I just promote drugs and hippies
@elithepozeur I do understand and I think you have missed my point entirely. would anyone listen to the young marble giants if they did not know how to play well enough to make these songs? probably not. sid vicious wasn't important at all in the band, he didn't write any songs, didn't play on the album, and only existed to be a tabloid star. sure, there are punk bands that don't know how to play their instruments, i.e. half japanese, but they actually play on the songs, unlike sid.
@ZrazorRozenstrauch: Dear Zsa Zsa Gabor, weren´t you a bit too old or just with one foot in the grave already in the late 70s to judge upon "late 70s´ punk" -nowadays?
Have a good deathbed & give my German wishes to "Prince" Frederic von Anhalt who is eager to get your "riches" someday (if there are any left) because he cannot suck up to Anna Nicole Smith anymore...
The shocking truth is that good ole Sid already died in 1978 and neither he or YMG or the Smiths were ever into"British Oy-stuff"...
@keyboard352: Didn´t she fall asleep with a cigarette in the 90s + almost burned herself completely while Frederic was out using her credit cards for his credit cunts.....how long does she plan to live at all ??? The horror the horror.......

YMG - sublime, spare, sophistication.. But too little in the way of a back-catalogue..... The Man Amplifier - what a treat!

I look back fondly 3 decades to this music.
One of their very best, the unheralded, totally forgotten and wonderfully laid back YMG.
A cutely quiet song best heard very loud.
