Thanks for the great song! Do you happen to know if this song was in a movie or a stage production? I know many artists have recorded it, but I can't find anything regarding where it may have appeared. I know Gus Kahn wrote for MGM for many years. Many thanks!

@apricotsoap Good question. First off, there's a wonderful, but rare sheet showing that Ethel Waters used Chlo-e in "Africana," a musical. According to IMDb, Chlo-e was used in the following films:

Tom & Jerry cartoon: His Mouse Friday (1951); Bring on the Girls (1945 Paramount film); Mr. & Mrs. Jesse Crawford (1938 short by Warner Bros). My notes also list Chlo-e in some film called "Mirrors" (1934).

SUPER-FABULOUS VIDEO!!! This is one of the great jazz/pop songs of the 20th century --would you believe the sheet music is out of print? It's only available in a really hard-to-find music collection of 20's-30's songs. Thanks for a beautiful video for a wonderful song!

And it's true --one must enter "Chloe Song of the Swamp" or 8 million Chloes will pop up --none of them the right one!

I've always liked this song, although the first and only version I ever heard was titled simply "Chloe" and was a bouncy piece of elevator music from an old Ray Conniff Singers album of my mom's that I grew up with. Thanks for posting this. If anyone searches "Chloe" they won't find this video.
