You have no idea what your talking about, software bloat slows systems down, mac service packs don't slow mac down, windows service updates on the other hand do. Mac does a good job of doing most maintenance work too, cleaning up caches etc, self defrags on the fly etc. My 4 year old macbook runs as fast as the day i bought it, and its fast. So guess your going to need them 4 PC's.

I recommend to switch it with two 2GB Ram (if you have ddr2 or ddr3) to have a total of 4GB and installing Vista 64bits to have use for that address space gain.

And another advantage of using Vista 64 is that if you have a good GPU (VGA) with lots of memory, your system wont be sub-utilized, be cause the system maps the VRAM of the card into the Physical Address Space of the processor to allow faster transfers to the graphics card.

If your talking about a Mac, it already will make use of that.

@YourJustAPawn I believe that nobody would need that much under today's standards. And on top of that they're just higher density sticks super expensive not overly fast or anything. It's not like you have 32gigs of faster than average ram either so I don't see the point. I guess it depends what you're doing but, if it's playing games or browsing internet shit, you won't need more than 8-12gigs these days.

And when I posted that response 2 years ago, it was even more unnecessary than today.

@Gixbit Encoding and editing 8k or even 4k Red One footage is at least one huge reason for 32gb+ ram (the more the better). I've worked on systems with 6-8gb of ram versus 28-32gb of ram and the difference is insane for this type of work.
