I'm not sure how to describe it, but they are extra-thick gauze-free Band-Aids that help heal the wound. They are pretty expensive. I got them when I fell off my bike...My husband recommends them for anything but in my case for this deep cut it didn't seem to do it....doing old-fashioned gauze and tape and just changing it twice a day and covering it with a purple finger guard (you can see it in some of my videos actually) worked a lot better for me.
