the shaky, hand-held darkness of the video works with the song. it's like watching the world go by from inside a car, which is how i like to listen to blonde redhead. mundane is beautiful.
@slavek20 I like the idea of an Iraq video of just some soldier dude getting a beer, it suits the tension of the song, notions of the severity of everyday situations are being called into question. I know its 99% most likely unrelated but the lyrics can be read as a whopping "don't ask dont tell- fuck off!". Bi the way why couldn't this have been shot in Iraq? I see palm tress and G.I. haircuts. You know troops get accomodations there as anywhere USA puts fridges full of beverages...!
I think it's called "Publisher" because he's telling his parents to say to his face what he knows what they and everyone talk about him. And by him singing it out to the world he is publishing/asking them to publish their true stance about his life. Its probably 99% unrelated to the video of a soldier but this song has a general, whopping "don't ask dont tell- fuck you!" in it.
Not bad at all. I'd have to say, it's probably better than anything Blonde Redhead would have. I really like their music, but their videos (at least for their most recent CD) have been really boring.

@77woltman no, i just meant that the description 'this place in iraq' is not specific enough. it's like saying this place in the US.

It's just atmosphere. Nothing wrong with that. the average dream is more boring. ...and this song is dreamy.
