i thought if its a touch ball, the color ball touching the white cannot move then u hit the white, or else its a foul. thats why he cant play the plant. that means u cant hit into a touch ball.

It's just that you can't move the particular red that you're touching. You can hit another red, as long as the red you're touching doesn't move.

So, he could have played the plant, but it was probably too risky.

I've read the story of his cancer battle, written by his widow. They didn't know how quickly his condition would deteriorate.
