  • You are a very good Man Major Dennis!

  • I WAS HOPING TO SEE NUBS

  • that dog looks so furry i want to pet it :)

  • Thank you Sir for bringing this great dog home,he deserves to be an American!

  • LIFETIME SUPPLY OF DOG FOOD. ellen you're just wonderful!

  • lol @ the big food selection, and ellen trying to explain it...lol...wierd

  • This is why the Marines are considered the greatest force on Earth. They look out not just for each other, but also for other people and animals around the world that desperately need help. I'm hoping to join their ranks in a couple years, and become a part of something that is greater than myself. I salute you Major Brian Dennis. Semper Fi.

  • who the fuck is the person who has disliked it !?? lol

  • If i was in one of those dog rescures and i found A dog like that was so attached to us it would be so hard if we lost the dog.

  • they should make a movie about this :]

  • @123jorgeleon they are

  • beautiful and touching story.... spending some time in a third world country, where the dogs are left constantly by irresponsible people on the street, I came to love those creatures more than the people... For some reason many people believe being above the animals... and they are VERY WRONG.

  • Yeah he turned out too be a lucky dog!

  • i love animals and this story made me cry. i wish i could meet nubs and major dennis. this story is a major inspiration.

  • @CrazyBeautiful824 you realize the soldiers dont decide to go or not the government does dont blame them the soldiers. Also remember you see what the media shows us. dont always believe what you see. odds are it isnt the whole story

  • I love animal of all kinds specially dogs & cats they're the purest creatures on Earth but I find it hypocrite that this guy felt sorry for the dog but he wouldn't feel sorry for the Iraqi people killed by the us soldiers and Iraqi women rapped by his fellows u think that your soldiers are heroes just go and see what they've done they're nothin but bunch of criminals who went to Iraq becoz they needed money

  • is it weird

that i could kill a puppy but at the same time be very caring ?

  • @RayWilliamJohansen What's weird is that you'd say something like this just to get attention.

  • @LisaBaby67

    no dumbass

    i am being serious

    you stupid attention whore

  • Love Nubs and happy he is an American citizen....please support SPCA Baghdad Pups and most of all this new program Puppy Rescue Mission in Facebook. They are fast reuniting dogs with their troops.

  • This is a great story! I also like ellen shes a very nice person!

  • wow unreal....dog risks all to be with someone that showed him a little kindness. Nubs has the heart of a lion, 70 miles, no food/water, no way of knowing exactly where the MAJ was, crazy. And to the douche that complained about the dog---check your pulse, if you have one you are an idiot, you porobably were just looking for an excuse to call some 0-5 or 0-6 to complain and shoot the breeze in an attempt to further your career, you don't belong in the armed forces.

  • We're stealing your oil in front of your eyes. And there's not a damn thing you or your country can do about it. The only thing bad about it is American and Canadian soldiers get killed.we have taken so much oil from your country that it easily pays for the war. so hahaha fucktards.

  • Nubs is not on the show

  • I believe that animals simply show us humans how it's done. They don't need to speak, but lead by example.. beautiful story.

check out a cat and crow are friends video.

We have much to learn from animals,

  • @stars6354 Beautifully said.

  • such a lucky dog :O

  • Petco gave him $15,000 for rent?

  • I first heard this on war dogs

  • Thats why I love Ellen Always helping people out who deserve it.

  • my librarian met him! lol at barns n noble lol and nubs was there

  • My point is people over dogs.

  • tvland7602 's excessive posts all in one day only prove my point about delusional dog people the same goes for all the other like (feeble) minded morons. Because many of my sad fellow humans choose to project god like traits to a creature that eats it's own shit, I invested in high end dog luxury items and made money in one of the crappiest economies in 30 years! Carry on dumbasses and keep making me rich. Most of you would put your own parents down and save your dog.

  • and for the record he never killed anyone in Iraq and I have been to Iraq twice and have driven 30,000 miles in Iraq and never once fired my weapon or got shot at.

  • I was one of those Marines stationed with Maj Dennis and helped get nubs home. hope your doing well nubs!

  • This man is a true marine. My hero! Awesome!

  • I love how people are so quick to judge soldiers in Iraq for killing 'innocent' people. When first off, none of you have been there, or seen what these guys go through everyday. And, two, none of you realize that little kids come out with bombs and guns, people dressed as civilians shoot at them all the time, and telling the enemy from civilians is nearly impossible sometimes due to the sheer cowardice of the Iraqi insurgents.

  • If only they had resued as many Iraqi translators as Iraqi dogs, we know where their prioirties lie

  • it is wrong to kill, but iraqis are trying to kill him....the dog isnt

  • seems as if the sarcasm in my message wasn't as obvious as i thought...

  • What a beautiful thing. I love stories like this. I love all animals.

  • It's nice that Ellen could use an abused dog to push her product. Talk about absurd.

  • It's called Karma! :)

  • I own a production company, and my girlfriend is an old money S Florida heiress who fell in love with Operation Baghdad Pups. She's raising money with her friends, and we're using the donations for production budgets to get the word out everywhere. Watch for celebrity participation, and generous media buys on the behalf of the pups. 158 dogs have been rescued and returned to their soldiers stateside by the SPCAI thus far, and we intend to make that number much, much larger.

  • GOD BLESS ALL THE ANIMAL LOVERS!

  • hmmmm....you tried, but no you failed....No one really gives a fuck dude, I think the human mind of this era wants to ignore the mortality of wars so that they wont have to take prozac everyday. So its your choice, i wont be a dickless gagger who runs their mouth remind people of sadness when clearly they don't want the negatives interrupt their lives, so shut the fuck up if you want to write negative comments just go write them at a miley vid after your doe jerking it u fucking arsewhole.

  • Let's see... Illiterate, can't connect sentences, prone to hurt strangers for grins, kicks kittens and puppies for fun... I know your scummy type, it just reinforces why we like a "nubs" and consider a "crazyfaggotkiller" a waste of skin. Your name says it all. Your type is why war exists in the first place. I wouldn't think twice about choosing a Nubs over the likes of you in a foxhole. And think of why...

  • did i even say this story is a waste of time you fucker? i just said that some of us dont like to be reminded of the negative that goes on around us and this dog story is an okay example of how in war we can have a little optimism, so do me a favor and look at who i replied to and why befre you start to blast english up on me, and i chose this name for the laughs you fucking dumbass there is no symbolic meaning to it nor their is any hate.

  • i like to hurt animals? you fucking asswhole, i have a rabbit and i took it in because it was sick so fuck you and your misconceptions about me and how the fuck would i be responsible for war, its always a politicians decision to sacrifice lives for their gains and sacrifice for what they fucking believe is right, i dont give a fuck who you are, but the next time you want to repy to me read it carefuly you sack of shit, and you call me illiterate, you cant even understad what i wrote. Fuck you.

  • you are a sad little person......I feel very sorry for you.

  • Worthless nothings like you just reinforces why we'd take a Nubs over a tub of pond scum like you. The dog went 70 miles to find the guys who extended probably first friendship.

My guess is your fat ass won't make it to 7-11 to get your 84 oz. Big Gulp for your ownself anymore, too much commitment and dedication

. Your kind make the choice of helping people we don't know v. dogs we don't know a no-brainer. Plus, they know sarcasm is the weakest form of argument... Intuitively.

  • what a great story what a strong message of love..

  • God bless Major Brian and Nubs the dog.

I got the book " Nubs " this bring tears to my eyes, if I feel down I take book out look at the pictures of you and Nubs, this made me feel better. I cherished Nubs book.

  • I believe animals are the purest living things on earth. They give all.

  • without a doubt...such a great story

  • Nubs lives next to me he has a book coming out 11/1/09 it's sooo cool i got to walk him one time.i wish he was mine he is so sweet

  • @SoccerGrayz LUCKY!!!

  • I love this story so much. It renews my faith in humanity. You can tell a lot about a species by how they treat other species that are weaker or more helpless. If that makes sense. Human beings are no more worthy of compassion than any other being on the planet. As humans we need to be more aware that the other animals on the planet experience pain, fear, suffering just like we do. IMMax77 you are a perfect example of humans and their sense of entitlement.

  • how sad that someone who defends his country doesnt have a place to stay in... just sad!

  • You reap what you sow...lucky bastard!

  • It says a lot about a person's character how they treats animals. A man who abuses an animal can never be a real man.

I'm so glad to hear about the brave soldiers out there being so loving to an animal in need. If everybody was that generous...wow it's hard to think about it.

  • What about the animals that we eat?

  • We only eat the ugly ones and keep the cute and cuddly as pets. :-p

  • this made me really happy.

  • oh shit man, we're

  • You're an idiot. Check that. You're a moron. How a people treat animals is how they will treat humans...

  • You are a flawless example of what I am saying about so called animal lovers who put the beasts over humans.

The idiot and moron here is clearly you, most people EAT ANIMALS and they are not treated very well before they are mercilessly slaughtered to end up on your plate.

Leona Helmsly treated everyone but her dog like crap.

    Carry on.

  • Thank you. I make no attempt to obscure my compassion and love for most living things. The only exceptions being an unfortuntately sizeable portion of the human race, who, unlike dogs, are motivated by greed, ego, and an overwhelming sense of their own superiority. Hmmm. Sound familiar?

  • Your premise is flawed. It presumes a conflict where none exists. Your comment is often used as a pretext for cruelty and indifference to animals. The whole "humans come first thing" is way too broad. Sorry but Khalid Sheik Mohammed does not come first before my loving German Shepherd. If the two were facing death and I could only save one --"Bye-Bye Khalid!" You would do well in Iraqi society where dogs are routinely abused and neglected. Oh that's right! They treat each other the same way! Hmm

  • Once again, your argument is based on ridiculous, outrageous presumption. You have no idea how I feel about animals used for human consumption. It is a demonstable fact that the manner in which people treat animals is an indicator of how they treat their fellow human beings...

  • I'm sure that your next post will more than prove my point.

  • Vee are zee dominant species! All others shall be consumed!!!! Hope you're around when the superior race aliens lands looking for its next meal...

  • They already landed ages ago.

Your posts speak for themselves and more than prove my point.

  • Over in the Muslim world, the men treat their women like second class citizens and animals even worse.I'll be dead and gone when they kill the rest of us off.

  • IMMax77 hope you have some happiness in your life.....otherwise you are a very sad person....

  • Your posts continue to reinforce why we'd take a pup over your sorry ass, any day. We're inspired by friendship, devotion and love, characteristics you ain't got none of. There are other POV's in the world. Respect...

  • The dog probably deserved it more than the humans around her. I've known a few (like yourself), and it's no question who wins the popularity contest, just at face value...

  • Your post exemplifies why we'd take a "Nubs" over your type any day. Live and let live. I doubt a dog would do anything but wag its tail when they read your post. Clearly, you've never had a dog, cuz you grow a bias toward the canine crowd awful quick. Especially after encountering you at an intersection...

  • Clearly, you don't realize dogs don't read....go project your hate of people elsewhere.

  • Again, I'd take Nubs over you, hands-down. Your posts reflect your character perfectly, and why it makes the rest of us secure in returning love to the dogs that give so unconditionally, rather than people like yourself.

Sorry for all the venom, I just like dogs over people (a small inner circle excluded) because they have proven themselves to be bigger souls than yours time and time again.

    Experience teaches...

  • Thanks for proving my point with each and every overly emotional ranting posts. You are clearly not capable of controlling your emotions especially when it comes to what you project on your canines. I don't hate dogs idiot, I believe in people 1st.

  • why is it that whenever anything happens, positive or negative, concerning an extraordinary animal, or extraordinary abuse of an animal, that people like IMMax77 have to jump on their 'people 1st!' grandstand? so, since people are suffering it matters less when animals do? love that twisted logic...

  • This is a beautiful story, I love Nubs and Brian, hes a wonderful man.

    thanks for posting this

  • Thats my Bri guy. Always with a heart of gold. You ROCK Bri!

  • Brian grew down the street from me and I think he is one hell of a soldier! My oldest thinks this is the coolest story he has heard in a while. Thanks, Brian - I hope you and Nubs are still home when I get there I have a HUGE bone with his name on it. Semper Fi
