@Diiton well, as a beginner in darts, I'll tell you few things that I've observed. Firstly-if you want to learn to play darts, go to pub or somewhere where folks play darts and get a coach. This can be a friend who played a lot. He/she would tell you what is wrong (eg. I was told that aiming a dart by a top of flights is wrong and hey presto-my score went up). Also, you might try different gear and get some dirt cheap.

Train, train train. And play matches with guys who throw a lot. :)

This guy is clueless! I play darts for a team and I dont hold the darts with my 2 fingers and thumb that is a personal prefrence on how it feels comfortable to you. Secondly I've seen many pros pull the dart back to their ear again its what feels best for you. Lastly videos do not help, its all about practice, you practice hard you throw better and better.

in reality...there is no proper or improper way of throwing the darts...the main objective is to hit your target. it's personal preference as this guy say it is....BUT...for the total beginners....who have no knowledge whatsoever on how to descently throw a dart...it would be wise to follow some actual, time-tested, proven proper ways of throwing...from there you could distinguished which way best suited for you....and then keep on practicing until you finally develop your own way of throwing.
