well see i have gateway p4 3.6ghz ht whit 1.5gb of ram and it would not install which the kalyway osx would not go pass the desk tool so i have not mess whit it late lee i have been confused.i have did duel boots and triple boot so that is not the issue and thin i try ed to install it plane just the mac osx and still no work.
i know w/the older OSX Tiger installs, that you did need to have a p-ata harddrive vs a s-ata; the new leopard builds do recognize those S-ATA hdds now! i had this same problem w/my desktop since it had only s-ata drives in it. :)
yup! the concept outlined can be applied to any setup for the most part. :) but yes, you can use this same technique on a desktop too. usually intel cpu based setups are the easiest to get OSX on. :)
Note that this method will not work with Snow Leopard which does not allow installation to an MBR partition.
Supposedly there is a patch to the Snow Leopard installer that fixes that, but it's not clear where to get it or how to install it.
