omg...i used to love watching this when my brother played this in the band....it sucks we don't do it anymore...that'd be so fun! and is that a contrabass?! that's what im playing!
I played this too under Dr. Hilliard in Feb 04 in Oklahoma small school all-state band. We used beach balls and tons of toilet paper. The bassoons put rubber gloves on top and they would "wave" on certain notes. The clarinets did waves. Flutes had signs saying "flutes on strike" and trumpets did this really funny horse neigh. Haha, the tp was strung all over the place by the end and some of it was thrown out into the audience.
My all state band performed this piece back in 2003 under the direction of Quincy Hilliard. We did a lot of the same random things minus the silly string, but added our own unique touch to it (perhaps both groups inspired by Dr. Hilliard's ideas?) - Glad to find a recording of it online.
believe it or not but my middle school symphonic played this theyre like amazing they play high school and college-ish level songs now. yeah kilmer middle school band rocks. thats a lot of confetti...

This is a good, full recording of this song.
It is unlikely you will find another performance of it, seeing as the sheet music is now out of print.
