I just want to say thank you to all the people that support our troops and welcome them home (and leaving for deployment). My son is a Marine and I was so touched at all of the people that INTENTIONALLY come to the airport to cheer them on and offer drinks and snacks. As a mom I can never express how truly grateful I am to all of you.
This doesn't happen enough. Our military are heroes. Past and present. They fight for our freedom. The same freedom the the conspiracy theorists and anti-government people use to talk trash about them. They sacrifice so you can have the right to free speech. Remember that Everytime you "proclaim the truth" from behind your keyboard while they are fighting and dying for YOU.
I remember watching that commercial about a Vet comming home from war , he tell's the taxi driver that he just got back from Vietnam, and the driver say's { so what } I'm looking forward to a better reaction, maybe a better commercial this time
6 dislikes... if you are not from the USA then I guess you get a pass, if you are from the USA you obviously don't respect or understand why you are FREE in the first place!!
I made that walk through DFW last August- really amazing to walk in that hall above the terminal, and through the glass you can hear the clapping and cheering- REALLY meant alot and something I will always remember. Thanks to everybody who show up at DFW and do this on a daily basis and especially the veterans, who never got that sort of reception themselves.
They are on their way to customs on the secure side of terminal. Once they are through customs they will go downstairs and exit out the doors where they will be greeted by family, veterans and many grateful people. I have been there many times.
Watching this makes me even more proud to be from DFW. My soldier will come home via the DFW airport and I'm so glad to know this is the kind of welcome he'll receive. God bless America and our people, God bless our troops, and God bless Texas.
Maistream media will never show this. They concentrate on the casualties and other negative stuff. As a Vietnam vet I am really proud to see this emotional moment. God Bless America.
Why have we never seen videos like this from the media? All they ever want to show us are the coffins. Thank you to all who have posted these type of videos.
Shit i enlist in 3 weeks and when i do come home from over seas my wife would just ttake me to the dfw bar and buy me around. and evan if dfw wont we have a friend that owns a bar and he still lets me buy some rounds for my wife and me so it kinda works out.
I just wanted to say thanks for doing this to us. It makes a great deal of difference to us to know that we do have support and that people truly appreciate the sacrifice we make. I have gone through this event myself and it almost brought me to tears. Thanks again.
The most of the US population know how its done...
I wish a situation like this is soon able in Germany too, but our fucking „Good minds politicians don't want that our soldiers get into the real shit. Here in Germany most of the politicians AND the population spit on soldiers who served for their counrty, i hate those unrealistic pacific bastards!
@paragod666 I wish it was like that, not enough people in this country support our military, it should be much more supported than it is. I love my military and plan to serve in the U.S. Army in a few years.

How can anyone justify DFW Centcom or whatever, you have no problem putting some 18/19yr old kid in harms way, but you stand by DFW bartenders not letting these guys having a beer? But then again the DFW area still has plenty of places noone can buy beer, hell even Utah finally enlightened itself enough to throw out that stupid law! I'm sorry those guys have to come through Dallas, anywhere else they could get a drink!
It should also be noted that the PAP office at ATL enforces the same restrictions since it is a CENTCOM regulation. It basically covers anyone in transit to/from OIF/OEF.
Prior to the restrictions being set, I would buy rounds for service members on a regular basis. Now that the consumption of alcohol is now restricted, I cover "tabs" at eateries, etc.
@johannesusa i came home from iraq in 2007 through DFW and recieved this same homecoming. they had the fire trucks out there spraying an arch over the plane as we pulled in. it is a very humbling experience to see so many faces of people that you've never seen before in your life appreciate you like they do. all i could do was smile. i want to thank you from the very bottom of my heart along with everybody that works with the uso for all they've done for us. God bless you.
Would have been funny if these guys were really comming from Germany, Guam or some other non-combat zone, and their looking like, huh? But the Bartender at DFW still won't let me have beer!
The reason that the bartenders at DFW wont serve alcohol to them is due to a CENTCOM regulation prohibiting it. During the briefing that they get upon arrival and the Manifest briefing at the end of the R and R, they servicemembes are ordered not to partake in alcohol while at DFW.
@Catface91 It would'nt matter one bit WHERE the were coming from. They are US Servicemen and should be shown gratitude for giving up however many years of their lives they have to make this country free. I would have people come up and shake my hand (Mostly Seniors) when I served back in the mid 1980's and it really confirmed faith in what I was doing. Find a member of the armed services and just walk up and shake his/her hand and say "Thank You"..watch the look on their face.
When I returned last time, they had hundreds of people greeting and cheering us as we went through the airport, hugs and kisses, lots of happy people and welcomes... Thank you
at my airport my BF was the only troop so far as I know that came home from Irag joined and left the day b4 his 20th BD and went to Iraq right after bootcamp I cried everyday in fear of his life-but he is back on base with prob having to go to pakistan or afganistan in or about 2010 I hear it much worse there. it took over 40 years (from the Voetnam era) for the American public to REALIZE that there is a kind of instrinsic and rare valor in those who come home from a war.
Awesome job, I know all of the soldiers in this video greatly appreciated everyone's support. I speak for all of my battle buddies when I say THANK YOU to all of the people that support us. You may not agree with the war, but support the people that are there fighting it.
My brother just came home July 3rd 2008, I love this video, you know of anyone who would have that day on video - he also was at this airport. Please let me know
I can only Imagine how all these People are feeling seeing there loved ones for the first time in a long time from the war. Welcome Home, Welcome Home.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
As per my point of wiew you are a little and insignifcant stupid boy, who must still eat a lot of bread to become adult and to understand about the value of the life, which God gave us and which nobody has righ to take for fun. Whatever it is, puppies or humans. A '' said to be '' person like you, do not deserve even one of my spit.
I should say something complementary about the American public but it's the same public that gave us coming back from Nam such a cold welcome 40 years ago. These guys will have better memories of homecoming than we do. I wasn't spit on, booed or heckled. I was however just plain ignored. It was the rare soldier who even got much of a welcome from his own family.
Thank you, Ola....I knew the guys and gals appreciate it as much as I do. In the words of a great American, Benjamin Franklin: "We must all hang together, or most assuredly we shall all hang separately." Thanks, again......
Thank God for you!! Someone from outside the US that believes in us. Totally refreshing to read your words. I have friends in Germany and I have to tell you, your nation is an incredible place!!
I took a video of the firetrucks dowsing us on the tarmac, I just have to find my chip but as soon as I do I'll go ahead and post it...but once again, DFW...THANK YOU!!!!...I tear up everytime I think of it
I pulled out my brand new camera ready to take pictures and as soon as I turned the corner I was totally and competely overwhelmed, there was at least a couple hundred people there, they were all lined up on either side, it was pretty much like walking through a gauntlet, a good one of course but I was so touched that I stopped thinking of taking pictures and instead just took everything in, it was so moving that I just can't explain...
WTF was this?...that is NOTHING close to what I went through at DFW on 1 Sep 2005, we had heard about the response we might get when we get home...well, I was one of the last ones off the plane...we get off the plane and we're pretty much just following the person in front of us...I'm walking along behind this large mass of soldiers and all of a sudden I hear that same whooping and hollering, cheering and clapping...
this is an awesome video!! when my husband came home from afghanistan we had to make a fuss to get the local news station to come and welcome them home...however the whole city was there...!! HOOAH
Reminds me of my dad coming home from Desert Stomr in 91. Videos like this still bring on the tears, but happy and grateful tears. Welcome home and a HUGE thank you!
I flew home through Atlanta airport for my R&R leave. Personally I always get embarrassed when I get thanked for my service. Most of my fellow Soldiers don't serve for the thanks. We deeply appreciate it and makes us emotional too. That welcoming to Atlanta is something I will never forget.
Sorry for your semi-embarrasment, but all you soldiers serving our nation abroad deserve our heart fealt thanks. You all are the reason we can show up and say thanks.
So yet Thanks again..
A member of this gratefull nation, come home safe.
You deserve all of the recognition for protecting our freedom... the freedom we sometimes take for granted! Thank you so much for your service! It is very much appreciated!
thats how more people in our country should be like. if u don't stand behind our troops, stand in front of them. they're over there fighting four OUR country and all yall can do is complain about the stupid president and how bad our troops are. why don't you try being respectful for once.
so proud of these guys. so proud.

Was the hero DAVID MORTARI, the marine puppies killer, with them ?
corsaroit 3 years ago
No, because David Motari was a Marine. And these are Soldiers. So if you're going to be disrespectful at least do it right. You disgust me.

As per my point of wiew you are a little and insignifcant stupid boy, who must still eat a lot of bread to become adult and to understand about the value of the life, which God gave us and which nobody has righ to take for fun. Whatever it is, puppies or humans. A '' said to be '' person like you, do not deserve even one of my spit.
corsaroit 3 years ago
Let me guess corsaroit. Your family was part of the Facist Party and supported Mussolini.

You got taken to school corsaroit, admit it.

*ONE* marine misbehaves and you slander *every* American soldier? SMAME ON YOU!
Those men and women have done a great job. Just like the American soldiers who liberated *your* country 1943-1945.

brings tears to my eyes.. this is the way American public should treat our war heroes.. amazing and SEMPER FI brothers and sisters
2ndgenerationMarine1 3 years ago 3
I should say something complementary about the American public but it's the same public that gave us coming back from Nam such a cold welcome 40 years ago. These guys will have better memories of homecoming than we do. I wasn't spit on, booed or heckled. I was however just plain ignored. It was the rare soldier who even got much of a welcome from his own family.

heh... they dnt show the reporters assualting the troops with questions.
great all the same. Welcome home brothers. See you back out on the front.

I have friends in Germany and I have to tell you, your nation is an incredible place!!
rocktruggy03 4 years ago
This is a stone cold show of respect for the chosen few who deserve it. Never saw a member of Code-Pink acting that way.
They chose to defend the values of the US, they deserve the gratitude of the masses.

I took a video of the firetrucks dowsing us on the tarmac, I just have to find my chip but as soon as I do I'll go ahead and post it...but once again, DFW...THANK YOU!!!!...I tear up everytime I think of it
armybeef68 4 years ago
I pulled out my brand new camera ready to take pictures and as soon as I turned the corner I was totally and competely overwhelmed, there was at least a couple hundred people there, they were all lined up on either side, it was pretty much like walking through a gauntlet, a good one of course but I was so touched that I stopped thinking of taking pictures and instead just took everything in, it was so moving that I just can't explain...
armybeef68 4 years ago

Thanos82 4 years ago
Sorry for your semi-embarrasment, but all you soldiers serving our nation abroad deserve our heart fealt thanks. You all are the reason we can show up and say thanks.
So yet Thanks again..
A member of this gratefull nation, come home safe.

thats how more people in our country should be like. if u don't stand behind our troops, stand in front of them. they're over there fighting four OUR country and all yall can do is complain about the stupid president and how bad our troops are. why don't you try being respectful for once.
