Actually i'm pretty sure i do. Loonies is the name Canadians call their one dollar gold coin. It has a picture of a loon on the back and queen elizabeth on the front. I've been to canada a few times so i'm not a complete american idiot :)

I like this version.

As a former Winnipegger I understand this song probably better than most non-Winnipegger fans would. It's a city that you both hate with a passion, yet you find yourself proud of being from there. It's sorta like the Canadian version of Omaha, Nebraska meets Gary, Indiana.

This is definitely the best version I have heard of the song. Coming from Winnipeg, the song carries a lot of meaning and weight that pertains to the issues Winnipeg deals with. Good stuff. You may want to try playing it with the capo lower on the neck or perhaps without the capo completely. Your voice is a bit deeper than John K. Sampson's and it would likely sound better if you played it that way. But that's just a suggestion.
