Just make this recipe. I needed to add more salt. I used sea salt. I also added more lemon and a little toasted sesame oil, some onion powder and cumin. For me I would make this again but only use 5 tablespoons of Tahini because 9 Tbs is too strong a flavor for me. My favorite hummus brand is Sabra. I wish I could figure out their recipe. Thanks for your video.,
i added extra garlic & added the olive oil & lemon after serving it on the plate...really love the lemon on the hummus ! thanks again for the recipe .
Well done Ruia ! I am from Antakya,Turkey. It is at the Syrian Border and our past was arabic,so I know what I am talking about. We know this kind of recipes very well. For me these are the most delicious things and I am addicted to them :-)
You sound like from Lebanon or Syria, right ? By the way, thank you for showing our exciting food and recipes for everyone out there. You are doing it in a exciting and wonderful way !!!
Well, Rula, I would like to come over and eat with you. You are beautiful and a marvelous cook! I also love your introductory and finale music - gorgeous, like you!
if you actually mixed that tahini properly you would need about 3 or 4 tbl of tahini as MOST. 9 tablespoons is just ridiculous. the tahini shouldnt just spill out of your spoon all watery like yours is (because you didnt properly mix it)
all you really put was about 3 tablespoons worth of it since you didnt mix the oil with the sesame paste at ALL -- you need to get in there and actually mix it!)
I enjoy your recipes and your videos but wish you would not touch your hair so much while you are cooking. You are beautiful and a great cook and teacher, but the hair thing drives me crazy.
I would not use all that tahini either but like she said, use amounts that YOU like...I also like to add fresh lemon zest in addition to the juice...cumin too. Great stuff, hummus! ♥ Thank you for a nice video!
I don't, but many areas of the world that prepare hummus put it on top of the hummus. I decorate with paprika, and others decorate with cumin too! It's whatever you like.
@EatingWithRula i decorate it with sweet hungarian paprika... the taste it gives is subtle but i think it complements hummus perfectly. sometimes i put ground mint leaves (dried ones). I also really like it with minced lamb meat :)
Nine tablespoons of tahini??? No offence but that is way too much. If that's your taste then fair enough but that is not a traditional hummus recipe at all. Most recipes call for one or two tablespoons. How can you taste anything else?
it's way to easy to make. the most difficult part was mixing the tahini back to it's syrupy state which took several minutes. i've eaten this heavenly divine hummus at a Moroccan restaurant called Casa Blanca owned by 2 brothers who are hands down some of the best cooks in the islands. It tastes just like yours. big thank you!
You are sooo welcome! I'm so happy you like it!!!!!!! It's great when you find a recipe you can make at home and it tastes just like a dish you have at a favorite restaurant. Enjoy!

How do you spell the name of the sesame paste? I've seen it as 'Tahini' which is as thick as peanut butter. Is there a difference?
