Wow. This is just ok. The music is pretty hot, but the vocals are sorely lacking the punch of Danny Joe Brown's efforts on the first two LPs. The replacement dude sounds like a retarded Jon Kaye or something.

I stopped by his house one day and noticed he had a couple of Hatchet albums pinned up on his wall.

He had purchased the records for the art work alone and thrown the vinyl away.

The current line-up is a disgrace to the original band. So I'm not a bit surprised that your friend thought it was a sorry show. It most likely was.

Molly Hatchet was great. People dis em because they weren't as good as Lynyrd Skynyrd or Black Sabbath or, i don't know, Aerosmith or whatever, but that's bogus, they did their own thing...yeah, with obvious influences, but they brought their own feeling to it too.
