Not bad, but too much vibrato and too fast. It is a beautiful piece and it is about a girl who is sad. It needs to be played slower and with more dynamics and emotion.
If you knew the text to this song you'd stop worrying about the instrumentals. You can only get the full sense of this song if you hear it being intoned by a grimy peasant woman with smoker's cough. Quite horrific: mother (and accomplice) poisons daughter in order to grab her inheritance. Ah, they don't make 'em like that nowadays. Lyricism is a distraction. If I hear this song my first instinct is to hide behind the couch.

Played very well and with great expression...What a lovely sounding mellow instrument also here.

if you're so uncomfortable with his rubatos, you should hear Llobet playing his own songs. you'd hate it. but that's how people played in those times

The most beautiful rendition I've heard so far, so touching, yet so insightful.

I'm confused. How can a player with such obvious technique, screw up the timing so badly. Is every note value 'ad lib'?

Their seems to be quiet a room for improvisation on these slow songs. Sounds different than the John Williams version

This version is quite nice and warm. The guitarist is Eulogio Dávalos. Click on the name up top to see more of his videos.
