if you dont mind my asking, what bass players did you possible listen to get these sorts of badass ideas? because I want to be exposed to more of this!
i'm not really into solo bassists, but to mention a couple that i do like: Jeff Schmidt and Michael Manring. as for band bassists, i like Chris Wolstenholme, Geezer Butler, Tim Commerford, Cliff Burton, Justin Chancellor and Les Claypool. also though, i think i've been just as inspired by guitarists and classical composers.
well after visiting your homepage i really wished I lived close enough to see you perform around live and maybe even ask for some help haha gotta say over the past couple days you've definitly become my favorite bassist to learn from and try to emulate haha
Not to be against the groove, all respects due. The art of tapping as it is has evolved and there is something lacking here. Check out Erik Mongrain or Justin King.
there are MANY different styles of tapping. i don't tap like those fellows...largely because i play bass, not acoustic guitar. more importantly though, i don't think it's really fair to be compared to professional, accomplished musicians who have been playing far longer then i have, and happen to play a different instrument. it's like comparing a professional football player to a high school basketball player...
Understandable! The skill of Mongrain is undeniably a factor. However, the very originality of his art is easier obtained than it looks. It's just the fact that he started it. It's easy (relatively) to sing Taj's Delta Blues, but how hard would have it been to create it?
u mean Geddy Lee? well a bassist would have to make an extremely fucking insane riff to show his true limit, so u cant really say "Your even better than the bassist from Rush"
how many strings is rhat bass?

very impressiv tapping, real crunchy tone works well for the tapping and sounds quite growly and mean in the slapping, freaking great!
