if i enlist in the U.S. Navy for say 5 years, went through boot camp and everything..but then later after those 5 years are done and if i wanted to enlist for more time, would i have to repeat the whole process again?? Thanks
This story (or one like it) has been going around for years. It never happened. After 20 years in the USN I can tell you it wouldn't happen. There are Rule of The Road at sea just like on land, you don't just jump in traffic and yell, a ship wouldn't do it either.
Americans are dangerous to their allys let alone their enemies. have you seen those, what they call, "blue on blue" situations? yea our lads now have to take cover whenever they call in for American air support. It was in the Sun! :P
No, no it's not. All you have to do is check ship records and you'll see the ship mentioned in the other version was decommissioned two years before the "incident" which never actually happened.
Not even a us ships actually a RN Destroy Type 42

I ran across this in the Reader's Digest in the early 1970's.
It was supposed to have been an actual event between an american naval ship and a lighthouse off the coast of Newfoundland.

Yeah, I agree with you. I was in the Navy for only 4 years, and we went through some really busy ports. You just can't do things like this video.
