  • Like if your eating peanut brittle while watching this

  • Love ur vid, helped out 100% Im a cook now!!

  • Like how I make mine, but I put butter and vanilla extract in mine. I also keep the pan (that the finished brittle is poured on) in the oven to keep it hot and just tilt then pan until it is spread to the thickness I want it. That gives me more time to work with it.

  • I like to double the PENItS

  • put a shirt on.

  • I swear to god it sounds like shes saying 'penis' lol. Spanish penis.

  • Old people just can't understand new technology. Her candy (toffee and peanut brittle, and probably everything she cooks) is contaminated with the scrappings from that metal spoon. I'm guessing her stupid relatives don't know any better either since neither of them said anything.

  • Made 3 batches of this so far and turned out absolutely perfect!!!!! I did add a pinch of salt at first and a spoon of butter right before the baking soda (another website said that helped make it fluffy...Only advice I would give is grease pan with butter NOT Pam..when I used pam the pieces broke into small pieces but butter was awesome it came off all in one sheet like it does in the video.

    Amazing! Thanks Cindy!

  • how much water did she says? 1/4 cup?

  • I tried a different recipe and it wasn't very descriptive on what it should look like as I was making it. This video was incredibly helpful!

  • Hey Cindy just out curiosity, how come you use the white Karo? I use the dark stuff and I gotta tell ya, it looks richer and tastes heavenly.

This year is going to be interesting...my sister has peanut allergies, so I'm going to make 'Cashew' brittle. (I realize there's not much of a difference), but I am interested in seeing what the taste will be like. I'm also thinking about going all out and pouring some melted chocolate bark on half of the batch.

  • Thanks, I tried your recipe, it came out just superb.

    Thanks.

  • quick question, can you use peanut peices? aka nut topping?

  • When you say peanuts, it sounds like something else... haha, sorry :L

  • it looks so delicouis

  • corn syrup is terrible for u...

  • this peanut brittle is awesome and i think ur great nice grandma feel u make it with love

  • metal spoon on a stick free pan surface?

  • Yeh Jim, And I have been wondering what happens to all the Teflon coating that dissapears off of pans. We MUST be consuming it with out food. Slowly yes, little by little. Then we wonder why we get so much cancer and other illnesses we can't explain.

Unfortunalty, we don't have Corn Syrup here in UK otherwise I would be making this now. Yumyum

  • @GrandadSue indeed i dont use teflon for exactly that reason!

  • @GrandadSue Corn syrup is the Lyon's golden syrup in the UK. Corn syrup is a clear thick syrup in the US. Actually Cancer has a lot to do with the radio waves, microwaves & maybe stuff your tv throws out.

Pre packaged foods as well. Aspartime an artificial sweetner in most soft drinks is a poison to the system as well. Look on the internet & you will see.

The Teflon coating doesn't give you enough a dose at one time to hurt a person.

  • @inspire734 , I dont agree with you. I am a radio ham. Radio waves dont harm you unless they are high powered microwaves. Rado Hams have NO recorded increase in health problems. Check out cancer in naval personel working on warships where there are megga powered transmitters. from short wave to microwaves. There are NO more incidences of cancer than in normal population . Also check out similar with radio mast transmitter engineers. Again there are no reported differences with normal population.

  • @GrandadSue if you search nigella lawson peanut brittle theres a recipe which doesnt use corn syrup:)

  • i made some yesterday according to your vid. and loved it...and i wasnt skarred to cook buddy. that's to your son.

    hahahaha

  • I love peanut brittle but finding it in stores is hit n miss. I'd tried making my own and failed. Thank you for this very detailed recipe. What I was doing wrong was the high heat and continued stirring. I took mine off too soon before. As before I used almonds.and brown sugar. Turned out great. Thank you so much. I'll be adding brittle to my baskets this Christmas.

  • Thank you! I want to try that to give as gifts to the neighbors this Christmas, along with some homemade crabapple jelly.

  • ooh very helpful! thank you!

  • what is corn syrup can i make it?

  • i know its called peanut brittle but can i make something similar with different nuts like almonds or walnuts?

  • Yes, you sure can. I have made it with cashews.

  • sounds good!

  • and also i thought u were making your last batch of toffee im pretty sure i just saw to sheets of toffee

  • ouch, thatts not non stick pan is it?

  • OMy thank you so much been looking for this for forever!!!

  • i have always used it but what happens if you dont but i tried useing butter last night and it did ok but i will try to use my candy thermo tommorw and see what temp its at think it will be at hard crack but i'm not sure

  • all of the corn syrup i have seen around here has been a honey color...will it still work if its not the clear stuff???

  • if it says corn syrup or light corn syrup, you can use it. Even if it says on the bottle Corn Syrup with Vanilla. The color of it won't affect it because once you get to the hard ball stage it turns to the orangeish color.

  • hi i tried too make this twice now and every time i tried it i failed sofar i dont think im cooking it long enough cause it doesent set up its just all runny like thick water so do you have any tips for me please

  • make sure you are using the white karo corn surup it is real thick to start with and do make sure you have the heat high enough for it to really boil quickly.

  • you might also look at the time it took me on the video to cook the peanut brittle to see if you are cooking it long enough.

  • i have 3 tips for you

1 if your not already cook it on a low temperature

    2 constantly stir

3 make sure your ingredients are correct

  • o looking at your video .yes i will pray for you to the almighty for such a nice woman

  • I'did everything you did and it came out GOOD the bast PEANUT BRITTLE on youtube no the net. thanks
