  • very japanese animation

  • Nice animation for a commercial

  • Again, Another one of my ebay splurges six years ago. I was so frantic about finding jem dvd's it drove me nuts. I came across so many bids for other things I found this roaster and the thing is huge!! But looking at it now and how it stood still in time compared to what kids are into now is beyond me.

  • Whaa....where's the engine?

  • FM Radio? A Rockin' Roadster that actually rocks? They can use that type of creativity in the toy industry nowadays.

  • the animation was provided by the Japanese animation studio Toei Doga, now is Toei Animation, some episodes of the series have more anime feauture like the scene in this commercial :) that's why the cartoon has high definition in animation :D

  • @dynomitis

Yes, it was done by Boyd Kirkland, I believe. I'm fairly sure he had nothing to do with the cartoon.

  • Even as a child I knew Rio was cheating on Jerrica with Jem. That two timing man-whore!

  • BARBIE AINT GOT NOTHIN ON GEM!! LOL

  • If I had the choice of any cartoon/movie car to have in real life-- it would be the Rock'n Roadster!

  • Omg I have this car

  • True! Studio 45 former studio 54. Well it was the 80's guys. Remember Jem was about Glamour Music Jet setting so the setting was appropiate! I think Kind of heavy stuff for kids. I had no idea what Studio 54 when I was 10 years old in the 80's I did how ever like disco music for some reason. Was not old enough to drink or go to bars LOL But i did like all the color of the costumes Jem Had that big Hair and make up! Trully Out rageous!!

  • My older sister had this car. The radio never worked as I recall.

  • OMG!!that car was passed down too my ratty cousins and it's all fucked up now cause there so gross.

  • That animation was made in Japan, By TOE Animation Estudios :D

  • Studio 54 was a New York City discothèque located at 254 West 54th Street in Manhattan. It opened on April 26, 1977 and closed in March 1986. It briefly reopened in 1994 after a multi-million dollar renovation. It currently serves as a venue for the Roundabout Theatre Company, with a 900 seat theatre equipped with two full service bars. The original doors with the Studio 54 logo still remain.

  • The disco was depicted in the 1998 film called "54". That was it. :D

  • Yep, Studio 45 as opposed to the famous Studio 54 that was attended by lots of famous people in the old days. I remember there was a film about it, with Mike Myers, Ryan Phillippe, Neve Campbell and some other actors I probably know. LOL Dazza xx

  • I think mines still in my folks house somewhere, too^^

Rio gets picked up on the side of the road, poor guy lol.

  • Heh, no space for a motor, though...

  • haha...I love how they are coming out of "Studio 45" towards the end...

  • I have this roadster somewhere at my mom's!
