I like this somber version very much because it features the words and not the melody. The Judi Collins version is much too fast. The message is lost in the melody and breakneck pace.
Kudos to this fine singer for her pace and for hitting the notes without showing off. Compliments to the keyboardist for accenting the melody but yet staying out of the way.

really really good. Joni's music is quite challenging to interpret as it is so personal and Joni's nuances are an essential element.
There is the story of Zawinul saying ' Joni Mitchell cannot sing the same song twice' so much for personal and deep interpretation of a melody.
Congratulations, would be nice to also hear some of your own material
