There's nothing hard at ALL about taxiing a tailwheel aircraft... the problems arise when the PILOT doesnt pay ATTENTION to what's going on outside the aircraft, as is evidenced in this video.
My brother Markus Bott had been brainwashed, tortured and steered during five and a half years by the German BND which is the renamed GESTAPO. I recorded more than 450 hours on video. My brother was murdered on 11.7.09 because of our homepage. The German BND is misusing the Arabs to keep the Jews busy to prevent them from complaining. Apparently the BND offers brainwashing techniques to various terrorist groups.
That plane does have nothing to do with Dornier, it is a F + W C3605 ex swiss air Force, the airframe was built by F+W Thun which was a national construction plant belonging to swiss army under it's first denomination C3603 powered by a Hispano engine.
From 1972 on the plane was equiped with a turbine and then flew as a target tractor for FLAB (Fliegerabwehr) training as C3605
Is it me, or there's either an unusual jump in the video (from editing?) from the time the spitfire nears the heli, and when it hits, or, did the camera-person just jump out of reaction
I understand the issue of tring to see over the nose while taxiing but.. I would thing the helicopter's rotar would be an indictor of "Im am getting too close".. guess not
@Iamtherealjerkfreak After checking Google images you appear to be correct. The long nose the low wide undercarriage, and the paint job (awful) indicate it's a C-36 from the Swiss air force. There so few Spits in airworthy condition that even for one to have its prop damaged would be a shame.
Actually, you can see the sun shining off of the propeller blades, right? If you watch the slow-mo part again, after it clips the ass of the heli the reflection has a gap on the spinning prop. Therefore, a blade was damaged on the prop.
Forward visibility on most tail dragger's was, and still is a constant problem. But any survivable contact with a helicopter rear rotor is indeed rare and this it would seem is a spectacular exception where the heli took the brunt of most of the damage. Helicopter tail rotors have taken more than their fair share of movie AD's scouting remote locations and inadvertently backing into that human shredding Cuisinart while distracted!
@jvsantosmd it's not a Mustang either fitted with a turbo prop, I forget the actual name of the type but I believe that luger87 maybe correct when he says it's C 3605, definitely not any type of Mustang with a turbine/turboprop
what an idiot the pilot was clearly aware that it was there unless they have a special dissability that causes them to not see helicopters or the chopper nicked their parking space
@MasterBattle2000 uhh yeah, the disability is the fact that the aircraft has such a long nose, AND the pilot is pointing up at an angle, i wouldnt be surprised if he couldnt see the heli at all, or at very least, couldnt judge the distance, he should have had a ground team guiding him.
the pilot doesnt has frontal view in this kind of aircraft, the fault was from the organization that didnt care to put men to guide taxing planes. bill to then....
Actually it is called "Altenrhein" because the Pilatus' piston engine is here replaced by a turboprop powerplant. That is at laest what narrators on air-shows used to explain about that particular airplane ... !
firstly thats not a spitfire, its a me109 . secondly this was a common problem, as the bonnet was so large you couldnt see over it, so taking off, landing and taxing had to be done at an angle, as best as you can achieve, so you can see in a straight line.
I have no idea what is that , but im pretty sure it's not Me-109 . Look at the landing gear . 109's gear closes outwards and located much closer to each other . That was known problem with Me-109 , they tended to flip over on take-off \ landing . BTW G-6 has huge air intake on left side of engine .
listen to the freaking engine, and look at the thing. how anyone could confuse it for a spitfire is beyond me. it's like saying a mack truck is an f150.
By the way, for those of you who might come to travel sometime in your life.
