I heard these guys in the summer of 1969 and then Heard Seab Meador I believe in 1974 with the Werewolves. He was amazing. I think all those guys went to Justin F. Kimball High School in Oak Cliff ( Dallas). Great band and great video. Thanks
Awesome! This is the first time ive ever heard this today, and it's blown me away. Ive never heard it on any compilations, does anyone know if it's on one? I'd like it on my ipod.
Killer Texas garagepunk! I never saw the Gentlemen play but I remember hearing their name on the radio ads for local gigs. I used to go see Seab Meador in the Werewolves when I was a teenager. They opened for the New York Dolls in the winter of '74, that was a cool show.
@smokeemonkee hey brother! that Dallas show was actually 73. Cause it is always refered to Live in Dallas 74, and the album cover has the image of the Hammer & Sickle, but Peter Jordan was on Bass, and Killer Kane was still in a cast from the pics of that show. anywhoo... my .02 cents. meanwhile... this IS/are these the 'werewolves' that Johannsen refers to on the Album?!?!?
what a killer choon...garage punk rocks! Songs like this nail the emotions we feel and beat it down to a primitive fuzzed up stomp which is the best way to deal with them!
I don't think that's at all overzealous! It's just so accessible and staggeringly good. And that backing vocal just seals it - "simple and effective" indeed! It's one of those things that it's hard to imagine anyone with half an ear not liking. It may well be the one that tipped the music for me from an occasional pleasure to a big part of my listening, so I can vouch for it from personal experience!
@davepx Well, it's subjective, of course. And while I wouldn't rate it as high as 'You Must Be A Witch', 'Action Woman', 'Sweet Young Thing' or 50 more off the top of my head in catapulting my fascination with the genre, it's still a more than worthy punker. It's good for anyone to have been brought to this great music by any song that happened to light a fire under their ass....
Amazing tune. Wish I could afford it on vinyl, often goes for well over £1000!

Rx for insipid, bullsh*t music. Play as needed to relieve symptoms of crappy music.

'One of the top 10 tracks to play to anyone you need to convert to 60s garageism' ....
Well, that might be a little zealous, but it's a fine punker.
