  • HAHA you guys just got trolled :) thank you

  • Geddy lee isn't dead

  • R.I.P geddy lee you will be missed \m/

  • @NickHill668 Whatchoo talkin 'bout Willis?

  • @NickHill668 wtf? xD

  • @JohnLennonLover9 you are insane...awesomely insane (that's a good thing) and nice name by the way!!!

  • KISS pic in the back! Love the idea of these two bands touring in 1974-75!

  • i went to go listen to tom sawyer and red barchetta after this lol and yeah theyre is a difference, jazz bass has a heaver :D

  • Geddy Lee should play the Canada national anthem when he lets them win at the olympics.

  • GEDDY LEE ATE MY GFs BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @catsarefreeloaders Geddy CREATED your GF's baby!

  • Alex was in Florida dealing with 'legal shit'. And that's what it was.

  • Any one notice the amphead? YEAAAA!!!! Gallien-Krueger RULES!!!

  • 7:00 best part

  • I MAY DISAGREE WITH GEDDY ON ONE POINT THAT WAL ISNT GOOD FOR BOTTOM END LISTEN TO JUSTIN CHANCELLOR FROM TOOL PLAYS WAL FTRETLESS

  • @prsplayer210 geddy wants to be as simple as possible. justin plays with his sound constantly probably to get all those amazing sounds. the natural tone from the jazz has more bottom. the wal is made for a more balanced sound. i don't know too much about anything, but that's the way it seems from the basses i have played/heard. however i have yet to play a wal. though i've been to 4 tool shows, so i've heard one up close you can say

  • Met that man, nbd

  • lol i have an epiphone eb-0

  • Geddy is just total down to earth, no ego, a really nice guy who just happens to play for one of the best bands out then and now! Rock it man!

  • @punishedexistence Of course he is down to earth! Not only is he a bassist, but he is also Canadian!

  • @cfredrics Very true! Some of my favorite people come from Canada, like Jim Carrey, the band Kittie, Rush, Alanis, not to mention Hockey! And of course Terrance & Philip, haha!

  • Wal bass is actually back now! Same basses at before.

  • @Annonymus121 NAH GREAT NEWS

  • Sorry Best! Rush Kick's Ass!

  • The Bass Player Player and Master of Keyboard Transit That ever lived! Geddy is so down to earth I would love to meet him someday.

  • whats name of the bass he is using?

  • @2012wyvern I believe it's the Fender 60's jazz bass, but he also has a signature bass from Fender.

  • @Derekbasscovers I see, cool

  • @Derekbasscovers its a pre-74 jazz bass, but post 68. like he said a 72' jazz bass.

  • Some people may think I'm insane- But I actually really DO love his singing voice- I think its absolutely great :D Love listening to his voice

    Fav song: 2112 :P

  • @JohnLennonLover9 haha no rush fan would think your insane. i love it as well

  • @JohnLennonLover9 NOTHING insane at all!!!

  • @JohnLennonLover9 Why would you be insane for loving his singing voice? They were one of the biggest rock bands ever obviously he has a great voice.

  • @Zer0SkiLL789 He's gotten a huge amount of flak from some people who consider his voice shrill. I don't, but then again, my voice is somewhat similar.

  • coolest musician. This dude just seems like the nicest guy ever! i love how he talks about his other songs and the basses he uses for them!

  • @MrKookoodude everyone thought that

  • @MrKookoodude I did too, but I fallen in love with Rush

  • HOLY SHAT, that's a Fender Jaguar Bass! Have that same thing!

  • Awesome interview. Thanks for posting!

  • nice!

  • @rollipololi it was a with a police officer and he was defending his son, and geddy is right it was bullshit. look it up somewhere you can find it!

  • im only 14 and i saw them in clevelend this year april 15th

  • @1324babybash I'm 12 and I saw them for the second time a month ago.

  • @jerrythepotato1919 Cool man. What are your top 3 favorite songs?

  • @1324babybash that's awesome! I saw them on that same day and in cleveland but I'm 15 but I was 14 when I saw the concert since I turned 15 three weeks later lol

  • KALAMAZOO MICHIGAN!!!

  • @64ah OK that was REALLY nerdy but it made me laugh so hard!

  • lmfaooo i heard about alex in florida apperently he got into a fight with a bouncer or something

  • Interesting. If you watch GRACE UNDER PRESSURE TOUR the good old Steinburger still sound incredible but it did have less bottom end.

  • @rcvideoshooter Implying that TOOL would know anything about good rock. Also, Tool fans are tools.

  • @ModestM00se dont say tool fans are tools you tool bag

  • @ModestM00se thats funny because all the members of rush are fans of tool and aenima is one of lifesons favorite albums of all time im sure there musical taste is more developed than yours seeing as you like modest mouse, and there world class musicians who know talent when they hear it. it's also so weird how guitarists everywhere lust after adam jones guitar tone and danney carrey's drumming but i guess tool knows nothing about rock music

  • The wal not a good rock bass? Thats total bullshit. I think TOOL would disagree with you.

  • why does he look better the OLDER he gets?

  • @PattyWhomperOFFICIAL He's like Gandalf, man....

  • @PattyWhomperOFFICIAL thats true but there are also people who look worse the older they get........like me!

  • watch his fingers...when he talks about basses, his fingers move not his hands...kinda cool! probably subconcious.

  • i think the main message behind this is that he always goes back to fender jazz basses. and sometimes uses rickenbackers for the other end of the tonal spectrum.

  • Legend has it that in 1977, while touring with UFO , Geddy Lee stole two bass guitar picks from Pete Way.

Needless to say, the impact of this action has had a tremendous effect on the lives of these two men. After the loss ofvthese bass picks , Pete began finger picking the UFO parts and the band was never the same.

Many have speculated as to why Mr. Way just did not replace the two stolen picks. In a 1997 Rolling Stones interview he provided the reasoning; "Fuck Glee and his robes!"

  • i dunno why but i find him to be sexy

  • Geddys a genius

  • I read he cites his bass playing influences as John Entwistle, Jack Bruce, Chris Squire, Roger Waters, John Paul Jones, Paul McCartney, and Tim Bogert.

  • @ElectricBlueOil

Well sure thing man, Those guys are the greats!

  • @jjensen67 yep!

  • The Fender Jazz speaks for itself. Geddy is just the essence of all bass players. Fender plus Geddy equals supreme aural fixation.

  • @jjensen67

Pffft, Geddy's best on the RIck, fender must be payin him to play the jazz... (Obviously kidding, but I love the ricky's tone)

  • @RuroiniStenchin fender does pay him to play the jazzes actually... rickenbacker doesnt do endorsements.

  • @NapoleanXV

Lol, yeah I knew Fender endorses him, but I'm sure Geddy has enough cash to play whatever instrument he prefers. Gotta say I love the Rick tone though, wish he'd use it for a few more songs live, maybe even bust out ye olde double neck guitar/bass.

  • @RuroiniStenchin

Hahaha - I love the tone from a ricky too but it is like playing a f'n tree trunk in comparison. Great tone, but a bitch to play with any hands smaller than a samsquanch. Fender Jazz sounds any way you like and a child can play the neck.

  • If he's the coolest bassist, compare him to Eddie Van Halen. Guitar even speaks louder than the singer.

  • 3:38 What did he say? OLD AMPEG I rest my fu*-ckin case. This is from the man. I need not say any more. ha ha ha HA HA!!

  • The only CD's I have in my car are Rush CD's!

  • @theemceemurdah I did'nt know there were other CD's! All I have are rush.

  • @freewill51 LOL !

  • @freewill51 Amen. Are there other bands. I heard of a band named Pink Floyd, a few of their songs are ok. BUT ALL OF RUSH ROCKS.

  • is that a kiss poster in the background??

  • @brw9284 it looks like an enlarged Guitar World magazine cover. Search for "guitar world" "september 1996".

  • @brw9284 a japanese kiss poster

  • I love hearing Geddy say "Bullshit" Hahaha

  • thank you so much for posting this!! :D

  • coolest dude on the planet!

  • @lyticityl

    Yea xD

  • @lyticityl `cos hes from Toronto Canada and Canadians rock.

  • @lyticityl No Eddie Van Halen is. Way cooler, he's Dutch, he's famous-- 10z famous as Geddy Lee.

  • @PSNgregiskool not that we are comparing apples to apples here but ummm, i wonder how cool eddie was when he was in rehab's.

  • @lyticityl - I'm the coolest dude on the planet.

  • @theothertroll You can't troll Rush. You just can't because it doesn't apply.
