Evidently gave it the run down from Plymouth through Laira and Marsh Mills to build up for the bank, but still an amazing effort by an amazing locomotive.

Shows how things have progressed with the Duke. I did this journy in the late 1950s with a 'King' hauling 10. We were down to not much more than walking pace at the top of Hemerdon.
