@Julieta101 Glad it worked for you too! I think its because your doing things that you are not supposed to do. You are losing hair. You will learn what not to do from this section.. See it all in the site:
your hair is beautiful!!!! what products did u use to get it all shiny ans slicked down like that?? mines wont even if i wrap it up the night before my edges jus curl back up
@shereegillard Thanks! Have you tried massaging your edges with a little oil such as coconut, olive, or sweet almond? You should try one of those or any type that you like mixed with a few drops of rosemary essential oil. Massaging your edges/scalp in a circular motion will help with the blood flow/circulation to that area over time. I would recommend doing this at least 3 times a week for about 10 minutes. Make sure when you massage that you actually move the scalp.
@shereegillard Be gentle with your edges and try to stay away from brushing, pulling, and tugging as much as possible. Also, if you wear puffs or high ponytails, make sure that there isn't any tension on your edges with the band or ponytail holder.
thanks for the product info the picture right after your bc is what caught my attention keep posting the different products you are using as you get to different stages of hair growth and challenges GREAT VIDEO!
Wow your hair is so beautiful. I am transitioning right now so i am doing trying twist out styles. At first you know i was a little unsure you know about my transition but the otha day this lady came up to me i and told me my hair was beautiful. Like seriously i almost cried she must have maybe noticed that i was a little insecure, But after that im going to keep my head high and stay confident...
Beautiful hair!!! You are absolutely gorgeous! Keep your head up and shake those haters off! I am transitioning right now and I can't wait to big chop. It has been about 4 months since my last perm. How did you get those waves? Is that just the pattern made when you put jel on wet hair, or did you use some kind of technique?
i love your hair soo much! i've been natural for a while and i like it alot its just so hard because i've grown up in a school where there were like 15 black people and they all had their hair relaxed. its the same in college now. all my friends tell me to straighten it because it would look so much better. but everytime i look on here and see all the beautiful women i just can't give in. all of you are my inspirations. thanks so much!
Stick with it. As long as you are happy with it then I would stick with it. It is your natural hair that you were born with and it isn't going anywhere. We are here to encourage and help as much as we can. Keep it up and be happy with your hair. You can do it!
My goodness your hair is beautiful. Did you have any ides what your texture would be like when you first did the BC? I would never put relaxer in that hair! Amazing natural hair!
Thanks! I had no idea of what my texture was going to be like. I just went for it and I have never looked back.
I received both negative and postive comments. I didn't let that deter me in anyway. I had to be prepared mentally before any of my natural journey took place. I say that because I tried to go natural once before but I went back to the relaxer after 8 months in 2004. But in 2006, I was ready both mentally and emotionally. I love my decision.
if you're going to S-curl you might as well stay relaxed. I'm a cosmetologist and the same chemilcals that are in a relaxer, is in a s-curl. The only difference is the s-curl is designed to soften the curl pattern into like a spanish curl....but it is RELAXING the curl pattern of the hair. EMBRACE THE NAPPYNESS! BEAUTIFUL VIDEO THOUGH!
Agreed, you can't really say you're going natural if you're using S-curl; you're changing the texture of your hair. It's just that the change isn't as drastic.
im really considering going natural the last relaxer i got, the chick that did it messed up my hair im tired of all the shedding and it feelis like my hair is thinning in the back.how can i know what im going to end up with when i chop my hair?i want it to look like this lady's hair. give it to me str8. i can take it.i thought i could ask you because we don't know each other and you could give me your professional opinion.HELP ME! thx!
Try to remember what your new growth looked like whenever it was time for your next relaxer. That would be a starting point to see what your hair might look like. I say "might" because you don't really now your true curl pattern until the natural hair is about 1 to 2 inches long. Check out my newly posted video about my hair regimines. I explain what products I used to achieve the wavy, coily and shiny look. I hope this helps you.
@ Marinewifey, I went through the same situation with my stylist. I relocated to El Paso, TX (Soldier Gurl here..LOL) and on my first (and last) visit, she burnt me!! That was in Jun and at the same time MY WAKE UP CALL to leave the chemicals alone. I'm loving the progress and enjoying twirling my fingers around kinky hair..LOL
I agree with Jessypooh24 and TitoMckenzie's comments above.
I've never used an S-Curl and I don't plan on doing so. Looking back at the previous comments, someone replied to a comment about using one.
It wasn't me who replied and suggested that anyone use the S-curl.
All I used to achieve the look in 0:47 is water, Elasta QP Feels Like Silk and Jam Conditioning and Styling Gel in the black jar with the orange top. Take a look at my newly posted video about my hair regimines.
to animefreakgirl: How can you suggest to someone who has gone natural that they get a s-curl? Come on now...that's a chemical and abviously...she does not want chemicals anymore. Any product that natural sistas wear should be all natural without alcohol so that it won't break our hair off because its super dry. Keep it up indulgenceiskey you are doing a fine job with your hair and congrats in the journey!
I would just like to know how you got ur hair to be soo wavy and pretty when you pulled it back. Your video by far is the best i"ve seen and I wanna know so much more. What type of hair products you use and so on. You have really been a inspiration to me.
this comment is for anyone to answer on i did the big chop and i hate it i dont feel it lloks good on me im thinking should i jus keep micros in or just perm my hair and get a short cut hair style with flips or somen please help i dont really want to perm it but it growing so slow will the sulu max gro help???
When I did the big chop I hated it too. I didn't go out for like three months, but it is so worth the outcome. I have long beautiful natural hair now but it was atwo year journey. Your hair is going to grow so fast. Enjoy the process.

i was thinking about using something cause i got some bad ass hair its thick and just nappy does it matter what kind of texturizer that i use i have a 360 blow out kit it says for manageable expand afro .what would be best?

i had natural curly hair and i permed it i am trying to go back natural will my hair grow back to the way it was before i put the perm if not how can i help it?
hey can you help me? ok i want to go natural as well but i dont have enough new growth in my hair and i still have a relaxd hair what do you use on your hair to make more new growth?
first i want to say congrats on going natural i just recently decided to also. time is essential but you can also take vitamins that help your body so you can have maximum hair growth and i use sulu hair oil and jamican castor oil. there is no miracle product but these do help speed up the growth process. hope this info helped :)
What was your length after you BC'd? Your hair is very pretty! I can not wait until my hair gets longer and i can get a pony tail. i can get a puff now though. Love your hair, take care!
I love your hair. It is very beautiful. I would love to achieve that wavy texture in the front. Also right now I am wearing a fro. I am a little frustrated because I want to comb through it but can't. What can I do to get it managable. Also where can I get the Ampro Clear Ice Gel from?
i love your hair! i've been transitioning for like a month. i don't want to do a big chop until it gets really long. how did you get your hair to grow so fast and look like that? can you send me your regiment?
the pic where you are leaning forward w/ the pink band on, is that the natural wave of your hair of did you do something special. I tried not to get a re-touch but my hair was so hard to comb & braking so I had to go back to the perm. Sorry. :(
Wow, your hair is absolutley gorgeous! I'v been transitioning for about 4 months now. I'm thinking about getting the BC next month. Your hair looks very shiny and healthy at 1:45. What products do you use to make your hair that way-or is it just your natural shine?
i love it at 1:34 so pretty nice fro:) love the video too! ive been natural for at least 5 months may my journey go on! no more lyes for me natural hair is beautiful:)
i am in the process of transitioning from relaxed hair to natural. I have a few questions for you. How long were you relaxing your hair for? How long did it take to make the transition? How long after the transition did you do the BC? What kind of products and hairstyles did you use while in the transition process? I am so excited.....and you have inspired me to really go along with it. your hair looks really nice.
where I had really kinky hard to comb hair, you have loose curls so it's kind of hard to even see why you relaxed it. I've just started my own journey...actually, I'm lying. It's my second time around, but I think I'm sticking to it this time.
I recently went natural and my hair is growing out nicely, but what kind of products should i use to keep my hair from getting dry and loosing that it's pretty s curl pattern? I like my hair to remain wavy and shiny but once it dries, it tends to just look kinky! does anybody have any suggestions on a good product?
our hair grows ten times faster if we dont use chemicals!!!dye is okay but perms stunt hair growth...the blacks and hispanics should leave perms alone!our hair is beautiful!
I am in the beginning process of transitioning and I would like to know what styles did you wear when you transitioned for a year. I am thinking of doing yarn braids or kinky twists styles.
hi, i love the transition and the texture of your hair. Are their certain products that you use? I often hear people say, when going natural you have to train your hair to get that type of txture jus by working with it, could that be true once going natural? I have a good grade just trying to work with it.
Your hair is soooo pretty but I wonder how my head will look after the big chop. I've been relaxing mines since 6th grade and now that im almost 22 I wanna have it all natural, stress seems to break my hair real bad. You're an inspiration! What do you use for the shine and texture of it?
i read the comment regarding a fungus on the scalp and what to use. i think i may have that, i've been to two different dermatologists, both white, i can't find an african american doc. they've cut hair for the microscope in that are, and came up w/nothing. it grows and breaks in one spot. i've had natural hair for 6 years, and it's still not long, i am guessing it's from pressing. i've decided to stop and only wear styles that do not use heat. any other suggestions. anyone
How does you hair look after 9 months? Are the end breaking off? I have had any relaxer put on mine for a month and I plan on keepin it natural so I just wanted to know how it is at around a year without the big chop
i notice that in the pics when you're wearing the "afro puff" your hair has an awesome sheen. What products do you use to get that kind of shine? I have the waves & curls but lack the luster?
wow!!! my 1yr ann will be June 9th... i turn 25 june 14... ive had relaxers since i was about 10... i already had my bc... but i got braids right after... i sould make a video or something.... you all inspire me soooo much!
I finally decided that I'm going nature. So I'm letting my hair grow and cutting it into a short afro. I look up to people like you because you have the courage to wear your hair natural. The funny thing is when I was younger I talked about girls like you because they wore their natural. I realized it takes alot of confidence and self pride in your heritage something I lacked. It is now something I have gained.
Your hair is beautiful you should never go back to a relaxer. I am going through a battle now because my hair has always been long or medium length. I have cut it numerous of time, but I have alway keep a relaxer. Now I cut my hair really short with length in the top yet I still have a relaxer.
I have been growing out my hair for a year and it is a mess, I was thinking of putting a perm back in my hair because my hair is breaking so much, I am going to stick with my natural hair but I need some help because it is breaking off a lot. What should I cover my hair with, my hair is dry and brittle and hard. :( I know I need some help because my hard should not be like this please email me, what should I buy,? my shampoos and conditions either have laur or alcohol, I heard that was bad.
I went for my big chop after about 5 months of transitioning because my hair was just breaking off like crazy. If you're looking for a product thats affordable than I use Loreal Vive Pro Shampoo and conditioner for Thick haie (the orange bottle) now. But to stop breakage while trasitioning I loved the Neutrogena Triple Moisture line. You should either do a big chop or wear your hair braided, twisted, or a sew in weave to stop breakage! Hope that helps!
I love the video. I transitioned for 6 mos before cutting 4 inches, which was actually a lot of fun for me. I still have a couple inches of relaxer and will do my final trim in late May early/June. Now, I flat iron my hair(professionally done) about 90% of the time since I have not touched my own hair since 1995 and not sure what products to use. I plan to do a lot of experimenting this summer. Can you please direct me to your website? I'd love to see what products you use. Thanks.
I know the feeling, but if your edjes are breaking it's because perming weakened your hair to that point. Hair is acidic and perm is basic, so every perming job leaves your hair in worse condition, even as people stop perming, the damage is done. The best Idea is to trim the severely uneven edges.
ur hair is so beautiful good job on going natural it fits u 100%...my hair texture is just like urs but just a bit curlier cause my people have cuban and whit mix can u tell me what u use in ur hair or can anyone give me some advice...i currently use olive oil alon but since i color it,it has become a little dry
Go to a whole foods store and buy a bottle of all natural vegetable glycerine. Buy an empty spray bottle and fill half vegetable glycerine and half distilled water. Spray in your hair as a leave in conditioner. It makes the comb glide through your hair, no matter how kinky. If hair is still dry, put more V.G. Also look into shampoos without lauryl sulfates , but instead buy all natural organic shampoo. Try Jason or Aubrey Organics.

a texturizer will loosen the curls a little bit and give you softe and more manageable hair. In the box, it says to leave it for 10 mns but I would leave it only 3-5mns if I were you. It will give you defined curls, like mix people hair. It is chemical however but it will less likely damage your hair like relaxers. Or you can still use curl definers leave-in conditionners sold in walmart.
And for anyone who wanna loosen up their curl pattern and not bother with any chemicals at all, you can try some full fat yogurt with some lime juice. This method loosens and stretches my curls.
Texturizering is NOT natural. If you do this you are no longer NATURAL. Don't lie to people. You can have soft hair with the right CONDITIONER-try shea butter or honey or olive oil. You do not need chemicals.
Hi i have been natural for 2 months can you tell me what you use on your hair to make it so soft i will check back for a reply i have a nappy fro but i love it i have had only one comment so far but i am happy with it myself .I need to keep motivated Thanks.
You hair is beautiful I just went natural on my b-day two weeks ago. Could you please email me regimen b/c I love your 1st shot when your curls look so soft and defined.
Hi indulgenceiskey! I'm currently transitioning. Your video was so inspirational. I hope u wouldn't mind e-mailing me your regimen along with transitioning tips as well. Thanks!!!
Hi...I just received my Nourishing Hair Butter and will let you know how it turns out. I am so excited!! I hope my IC styling gel wont have a problem with it....stay tuned
Do you flat-iron your new growth to blend it with your relaxed hair? If you don't than what styles are you wearing because Im on month 3 (not sure if Im even transitioning yet) and Im tired of the bun already!

Time
missbistouri 3 years ago
first i want to say congrats on going natural i just recently decided to also. time is essential but you can also take vitamins that help your body so you can have maximum hair growth and i use sulu hair oil and jamican castor oil. there is no miracle product but these do help speed up the growth process. hope this info helped :)

Also where can I get the Ampro Clear Ice Gel from?

the pic where you are leaning forward w/ the pink band on, is that the natural wave of your hair of did you do something special. I tried not to get a re-touch but my hair was so hard to comb & braking so I had to go back to the perm. Sorry. :(

i am in the process of transitioning from relaxed hair to natural.

Naduinmiami 3 years ago
I recently went natural and my hair is growing out nicely, but what kind of products should i use to keep my hair from getting dry and loosing that it's pretty s curl pattern? I like my hair to remain wavy and shiny but once it dries, it tends to just look kinky! does anybody have any suggestions on a good product?
manntr 3 years ago
our hair grows ten times faster if we dont use chemicals!!!dye is okay but perms stunt hair growth...the blacks and hispanics should leave perms alone!our hair is beautiful!

I am in the beginning process of transitioning and I would like to know what styles did you wear when you transitioned for a year. I am thinking of doing yarn braids or kinky twists styles.

What type of products are you using on your hair?
Natcoco807 3 years ago
hi, i love the transition and the texture of your hair. Are their certain products that you use? I often hear people say, when going natural you have to train your hair to get that type of txture jus by working with it, could that be true once going natural? I have a good grade just trying to work with it.
Thanks!!!

what do you put in your hair to make it shiny, wet and curly?
djohnson615 3 years ago
Your hair is soooo pretty but I wonder how my head will look after the big chop. I've been relaxing mines since 6th grade and now that im almost 22 I wanna have it all natural, stress seems to break my hair real bad. You're an inspiration! What do you use for the shine and texture of it?
MissJay86 3 years ago
i read the comment regarding a fungus on the scalp and what to use. i think i may have that, i've been to two different dermatologists, both white, i can't find an african american doc. they've cut hair for the microscope in that are, and came up w/nothing. it grows and breaks in one spot. i've had natural hair for 6 years, and it's still not long, i am guessing it's from pressing. i've decided to stop and only wear styles that do not use heat. any other suggestions. anyone

It is now something I have gained.
a2dsexybrownqueen 3 years ago
Your hair is beautiful you should never go back to a relaxer. I am going through a battle now because my hair has always been long or medium length. I have cut it numerous of time, but I have alway keep a relaxer. Now I cut my hair really short with length in the top yet I still have a relaxer.

I have been growing out my hair for a year and it is a mess, I was thinking of putting a perm back in my hair because my hair is breaking so much, I am going to stick with my natural hair but I need some help because it is breaking off a lot. What should I cover my hair with, my hair is dry and brittle and hard. :( I know I need some help because my hard should not be like this please email me, what should I buy,? my shampoos and conditions either have laur or alcohol, I heard that was bad.
mslovesrain 3 years ago
its the perm breaking off may be its time for you to do the big chop
misschocolatemiss 3 years ago
I went for my big chop after about 5 months of transitioning because my hair was just breaking off like crazy. If you're looking for a product thats affordable than I use Loreal Vive Pro Shampoo and conditioner for Thick haie (the orange bottle) now. But to stop breakage while trasitioning I loved the Neutrogena Triple Moisture line. You should either do a big chop or wear your hair braided, twisted, or a sew in weave to stop breakage! Hope that helps!
briahbriah 3 years ago
I love the video. I transitioned for 6 mos before cutting 4 inches, which was actually a lot of fun for me. I still have a couple inches of relaxer and will do my final trim in late May early/June. Now, I flat iron my hair(professionally done) about 90% of the time since I have not touched my own hair since 1995 and not sure what products to use. I plan to do a lot of experimenting this summer. Can you please direct me to your website? I'd love to see what products you use. Thanks.
preezie77 3 years ago
may i have your regimen also? my edges are breaking and I don't know how to stop it - since I went natural.
sme7500 3 years ago
I know the feeling, but if your edjes are breaking it's because perming weakened your hair to that point. Hair is acidic and perm is basic, so every perming job leaves your hair in worse condition, even as people stop perming, the damage is done. The best Idea is to trim the severely uneven edges.
QueenSoukous18 3 years ago
would you email me your regimen and also any tips and styles you did during your transition? thanks in advance.

ur hair is so beautiful good job on going natural it fits u 100%...my hair texture is just like urs but just a bit curlier cause my people have cuban and whit mix can u tell me what u use in ur hair or can anyone give me some advice...i currently use olive oil alon but since i color it,it has become a little dry
Sharijo87 3 years ago
Go to a whole foods store and buy a bottle of all natural vegetable glycerine. Buy an empty spray bottle and fill half vegetable glycerine and half distilled water. Spray in your hair as a leave in conditioner. It makes the comb glide through your hair, no matter how kinky. If hair is still dry, put more V.G. Also look into shampoos without lauryl sulfates , but instead buy all natural organic shampoo. Try Jason or Aubrey Organics.

Ok i didnt use the texurizer i am still very natural i just needed some tips but thanks ladies for all those who responded.
sharonguinn80 3 years ago
Who said she texturized her hair? I have all natural hair - absolutely nothing in it - no chemicals...and my hair texture is exactly like hers.
So what - black people can't have hair that looks like that? We are all different shades, all different hair types...and we are ALL BLACK WOMEN.

I'm thinking about going natural also, would you please e-mail me your regimen.
lilkray27 3 years ago
This comment has received too many negative votes show
a texturizer will loosen the curls a little bit and give you softe and more manageable hair. In the box, it says to leave it for 10 mns but I would leave it only 3-5mns if I were you. It will give you defined curls, like mix people hair. It is chemical however but it will less likely damage your hair like relaxers. Or you can still use curl definers leave-in conditionners sold in walmart.
China18888 3 years ago
And for anyone who wanna loosen up their curl pattern and not bother with any chemicals at all, you can try some full fat yogurt with some lime juice. This method loosens and stretches my curls.
yukahonda 3 years ago
Texturizering is NOT natural. If you do this you are no longer NATURAL. Don't lie to people. You can have soft hair with the right CONDITIONER-try shea butter or honey or olive oil. You do not need chemicals.
boomslang5 3 years ago
what?!? Did u read my comment before answering???
