  • Please help...I found one at a garage sale a few years ago...but I need the battery cover!! Anyone out there an old wreck or have an extra battery cover I could buy? Please contact me if you do...it would really help me end my long search! I wanna hang her up. Thanks!

  • I had this toy for a long time. It came with a base which you could screw on if you were to want it off the stand.

  • Let me tell you, when I had a Buzz Lightyear, I always imagined that it was either the U.S.S. Enterprise from Star Trek: The Next Generation and the U.S.S. Voyager from Star Trek: Voyager.

  • Mine also has the worn out buttons, I bought mine new in 94, It does come new with an extra battery cover without display stand attached. It was a cool ship at the time, I put the revell model decals on mine and hit it with a light dullcoat. This ship wasn't made in the quantity that the ent-d was, hence the crazy online prices. (the u.s.s. defiant is even worse)

  • @AricofBored Oh and the reasons the warp engines pivoted was to "alter the warpfield geometry" around the ship to make it more efficient. It saved gas.

  • I used to have this ship, I liked it at the time. I forgot how loud the nacelles were. (btw, the nacelles pivoting up/down was supposed alter the "warpfield geometery" of the ship.) Mine also suffers from worn out buttons. and I think one of the motors may be going out. However, I've had mine since 1995. If you are lucky enought to get a ship still in the box or complete, It

  • @JTMitchell87

u know why the USS Voyager warp nacelles go up, Voyager uses variable geometry warp nacelles that have a new folding wing-and-nacelle configuration. When traveling at sublight speeds, the nacelles remain in a lower, flat position, but when Voyager's warp drive is engaged, the nacelles fold up into the traditional, higher-profile position. This new configuration means that warp fields generated by the engines will not damage the fabric of space.

  • You can pull the base off.

  • The tilting wing nacelles can shift microns in their positions, emitting minutely adjustable warp fields that are more efficient and safer when traveling in subspace. This, combined with new verterion manufacturing and the APD-01 Warp Core, makes it’s propulsion systems super-advanced MY SOURCE .. voyagers technical manuel :D

  • Considering how the nacelles are actually attached, there's no reason really why they couldn't have had contact points to make them light up as well.

  • Hi JT.

I have had a Voyager for a couple of years and I have had no problem removing/replacing the ship from the stand. I do not know why yours would be screwed in?

It is attached only by pegs with rubber bushings.

  • That geeky voice reminds me of Neil from Family Guy.

  • Comment removed

  • yep, me again. on a scentific note. the reason the voyager narcells move up to a high postions is to enforce and create a better warp field or warp bubble around the ship. just this high for larger warp and when narcells are in stand flat postion, it is just for impulse sublight speed. .

  • Playmates, should re release the voyager toy model but with all the issues corrected. plus it woulod be a great i deal to make a voyager that is the correct size, compared to the USS Enterprise that playmates have realesed. this small voyager model still should have the same features as the USS Voyager that you JT reviewed. I must say, I dont like the new Enterprise model taken from the 2009/10 movie. it looks all out of proportion, with narcelles and main ship body. lets hope 4 a nu st movie.

  • Hey JT Mitchell, I liked your review on the USS Voyager, I do hate the blue colour bodywork, it should really be white, lik th eother starships to make it feel more real, one thing l noticed was that the underbelly section is so big that, it the forward torpeodos really did fire, it blow up its own lower hull. I know its a toy and not a revell mode. but the playmates peeps shoul really sort this or at least asking me along to point out some issues. I will buy another as l mentioned in last post

  • Hey JT Mitchell, I have been searching in UK for the USS Voyager for 10 years nearly. and I was lucky or unlucky enought to find one that was at a good price. under £50. unfortunately it was unboxed on ebay. the only issues l have had are no power to the warp narcelles. but I will replace the motor, which you can get cheap form a model shop. a tip l have concerning the blue element on the narcelles is to take them apart and insert silve reflective tap behind the blue lense. u will get better FX

  • Voyager is my favorite too! Beceause it's the first Star Trek i've ever seen and it's what got me into Star Trek.

  • 4:23 Jees, you're a morron.

  • Allow me to out-geek you here, JT....

The warp nacelles are on actuating pylons for a simple reason... When down, the impulse drive thrusters are in a wider stance for better manueverability... However, the pylons rotate upwards like that so that the vessel does not damage subspace as it travels past a warp factor of six or so... Also, the streamlining effect is part of the reason it can cruise with STABILITY at a warp factor of 9.975 :)

  • @Acesanugal7 can i have my star trek voyager tech manuel back please lol

  • Not bad. But look at my video. With lights its overwhelming.

  • Ah, I used to have a lot of fun with this ship when I was a little kid. It's frightening to me, almost, to see how much it's worth on the aftermarket now!

  • Intrepid class was always my favorite class.

  • jeez everyone calm down. theres no need for insults. he did a great job reviewing this

  • How many ships do you eat in a week?

  • I don't eat ships?

  • @sockbucket fuck off

  • @SpartanPrimus lol k.

  • thx!! subbed

  • You speak waay to much , just get to the details jasus

  • what site or place did u get this model from plz tell

  • I found one of these at a yard sale for 10 bucks. All the buttons were broken, and a couple of stickers were peeling, but I fixed it and the stand actually does come off and can be easily reattached.

  • pass

  • Oh yeah, review the toy, not your childhood RETARD.

  • Funny how Picard rhymes with retard.

  • @popceed

Ur gay and no one likes u picard sucks!

  • i got mines i can show a video

  • Nice Video *Subbed*

  • Hi,

The reason why these nacelles fold up is to reduce the damage caused by normal warp travel, damage highlighted in established in TNG episode force of nature.

  • hey would u happen to have a model of the USS Defient and or a model of Deep space 9

  • Maybe I do... Maybe I don't...

  • I agree, I grew up watching TNG, but I love Voyager. It is because it is different from the whole exploration type moves in the original and TNG. Also I like Voyager, because it looks elegant (to me), small and efficient.

  • when did u get this how much time did it took to get this model to by ebay

  • the sound buttons are the same for all of the units, i have the same problem. i must say the diamond select versions are better

  • Please tell me in which shop you buy your models!!!!

  • so is there any more of this model and on ebay is there a store of it some where in ontario please tell me i wanted to get voyager model for years

  • One of my nacelles goes slightly faster than the other just like yours. I am thinking of selling mine for some time, I just need to find another box to post it, even though I still have got all the packaging etc. Yours seems quite clean compared to mine which is covered in dust. What is on the back of the landeing pad, mine is blank? You can display it with the other voyager vehicles from the micro machines series. I have still got to bandai version unbuilt.

  • I never liked the series nor the ship.

  • are these the same as the diamond select toys versions?

  • just a theory but the reason of Voyager being blue might be due to a different hull composition compared to the Enterprise due to either the discovery of a new element or maybe just what Voyager was designed for which was deep space exploration.

  • Yeah well you have had that long enough, time to let somebody else have it for awhile, I'll take it off your hands

  • I've only had it for about a year...

  • In the beginning. Voyager had a crew of 149 (Because Tuvok was gone) They were tracking a Maquis ship that had been thought to of been destroyed in the "No man's land" (I think) But they were mistaken. Captain Chakotay's ship had been yanked across the galaxy. 70,000 lightyears from home. The same happened to Voyager. You know the rest.

  • voyager sucked almost as much as ds9

  • necells look to small in comparison to the rest of the ship ( and voyagers my favorite series/ship too)

  • The necells are flat, they are not the standard WEEEEeeeeEEEE!!! kinda thing...

  • ok the the reason the the Nacelles go up and down.... Short and simple, ( comment back in you want to long version) in the down position the nacelles cannot generate the warp field that is needed t go to warp... so to do so then need to be elevated :)

  • @RC9831 In the star trek universe its actually bit more complicated, the official line is that the angle they go to (approx 45 degrees) makes the warp feild more efficent thats why their top speed is higher than the enterprise :D

  • man this guys arm looks like a harry salami. anyway voyager sucked as it was fully of crappy writing and crappy acting. the series had the chance to be the best of the series but quickly feel apart and fell back on the same corny plots and rehashed enemies. but on top of that they had a bat shit crazy captain who got them all fucked in the first place I could go on and on about how bad it was but its dead and done. man but it really really sucked

  • i love that ship

  • well voyager is my favorit star treck schow but this toy is like chrap sorry but the sound is lil metal sound in ? your right the motor is relay loud this have to go better i mean it locks okay to me but the sound and ther is no light on the worb thing hm nice toy but a toy to look not to say ya her it even sounds cool ps: i head a bird of pray one it head the saim creepy sound but i loved it until i broke it because i played to hard with it ^^

  • When will you wannabe-Voyager-cracks finally learn that they would've taken a lot more than 75 years. Janeway mentioned that they would need 75 years IF on maximum Warp all the way. And that's just impossible.

  • The Nacelles rise because 'it creates a more efficient warp field' which allows it to achive the fastest speed a federation vessel can go at warp 9.975

  • i will never understand this ship

  • I had it. didn't care for it too much, they should have made it bigger than what it was made, the saucer dipped too low, and the aft end was goofed to place the gears for the motors that raised/lowered the nacelles.

now it came with two battery covers, one w/o base mount and one with

  • @keepingcommandments

    oh bullshit kirk kicks ass

  • theres an episode in TNG where an alien scientist died proving warp drive was damaging space so at first ships were limited to warp 5 but then they decided to focus on redesigning ships to fix the problem and the point of the necels rotatiog was to make the warp field around the ship more streamline to limit the damge.. hovever 6 months after voyager was lost warp drived was redsigned completely which fixed the problem permenently w/ resulted in the enterprise e not having rotating necells

  • MY FAVORITES THE ENTERPRISE E

  • The USS Voyeger moves it's warp engines to be more eco freindly to the universe.

  • i have the same problem. 7:53

  • 150 crew

  • Hello there.. I too wasnt very happy with this Voyager considering the price I paid from EBay for it. Its just one of the worst ships playmates made and it showed that they wernt trying too hard by the late 90's. While DS9 and VOY had a small following most fans never embraced it until later in reruns. :( Thats how it was for poor Enterprise as well. What makes me mad about this toy is that the effects arent that great and the nacelles dont light up.

  • ya i wonder would it like to be a art asylum voyager but i agree that is kinda crappy he i was gonna ask you do you have the uss defiant if you do i hope you reveiw it im gonna get tasha yar admeral picard the hollow gram doctor {in yellow uniform} william riker and deanna troi and the transporter and i love your reveiws pleaze comment me back

  • nice

  • voyager, is definately my favorite of the series. for the fact the story is completely different from the other series. being in a total different situation of the unkown made it way more compelling and intresting to watch. shame it wasnt really that big enough for them to make a few movies about the series. b/c it was really good.

  • Where can I get a model like this , I can't find one of playmates in the INTERNET could you give me a link of a homepage , where I can buy it ???? ;-))

  • eBay.

  • Comment removed

  • Thanks a lot !! ;-)

  • @GeorgRSC amazon

  • Voyager rules because it can do planetary landings.

  • Comment removed

  • The Star Trek series toys from Playmates DID come with 2 separate battery covers... One had holes to insert the stand, and the other was just the bottom of the ship.

  • I hope Art Asylum plans to release this Voyager ship soon!!! The old playmates one always sells for alot!

  • Voyager and Red Dwarf have quite a bit in common. :)

  • The reason the nacelles go up is because the warp fields only go up or down.

  • awesome neil goldman impersonation

  • My Voyager is about 10 years old now and the torpedo button only works when I hit it with one finger very hard, the warp button does work fine,so do the warp nacelles.

  • I have Voyager, and my warp and torpedo buttons work.

  • it would take 75 years at maximum warp

  • The warp nacells do that because warp is essentially a pocket between space and subspace...and to succesfully create this "pocket" the nacells have to be slightly elevated so that the whole ship fits in the bubble :D

  • The Torpedo sound sounds like from the Enterprise D Playmates Toy Torpedo Sound.

  • im the same as u i luv voyager the show and the ship sooo much more then the rest, i wish they were still making new voyager shows. :(

  • i bought voyager a few months ago march i think and i got mine from ebay for £50.00 or so as well as the original enterprise, enterprise d and the Borg sphere all from the same person!!!!!!!

  • TOS, TNG & DS9 is Star Trek at its prime. But that's just my opinion.

  • Maybe they needed to use the deflector array to shoot torpedoes at species 8472

  • so you take a ship thats probably worth somewhere between $20-30 and make is $40 over priced? makes no sence

  • I think you mean the lone wolf

  • voyager uses the deflectodisk as a torpedo bace?

  • The real explanation for the folding warp nacelles was to allow Voyager to travel beyond warp 5 without damaging subspace (remember the TNG episode where these aliens convince Starfleet that conventional warp drives were "polluting" the space continuum?). The design is called "variable geometry pylons".

  • I have the BanDai voyager and it comes with interior lighting, warp nacelles move with lights in them, and it comes with landing gear so u can pose the ship landed if wanted

  • Good review! I have the Voyager model kit from Bandai. That one i think looks better and it comes with lighted windows!!!

  • yay i bought voyager on ebay for £70.00!!!!

  • That sounds like a lot to me...

    What's that in US currency?

  • i dount really know i think it might be something like over $150 because im in the uk i get prices in half :)

  • fogot to say i bought the enterprise d as well for £11.00 from the same bloke the best thing is now i got the origanal enterprise, enterprise d AND voyager and never been opend all colectors edition too

  • dude where can i buy this and the galaxy x class please tell me where and how much

  • its 140$

  • in the episode of Star Trek TNG, force of nature, its found that warp drive damages the space/time contunum, so that the newer starshipa have new "viro geomerty nacells" so that they can better controle the ward drive, thus not damage the fabric of space!

  • I love Voyager, my fav one. I can't find the toy anywhere though =/ I want it so bad lol.

  • try looking on ebay i bought the enterprise for £50.00 with lights and sounds although i haven't got voyager also my fave one they got some reasonable prices like i saw one ending tomorrow it includes enterprise e and d / voyager and a battle cruiser for £20.00 mind this i presume will go for quite allot because playmates are rare to get now

  • the warp nacells fold up and down for one reason because the ship was designed to land on a planet. so if the terrain was not perfectly flat, they could fold up. they fold up in warp travel because that positioning centers the ship in the warp field, you don't want the whole ship to be in warp and the bridge to be dragged along through normal space barely holding on to the ship.

  • the warp engines just look cool when they do that though, i think they did it because it just looks awesome

  • i know why the engines fold, if u remember the TNG ep where a alien bro and sis bord the ENT-D

say that warp travel is killin there ppl, and shes blows herself up, big spacial rift opens... blah blah, turns out that warp travel does hurt space, So voyager had those fold up to help stop that for some reason and be able to go faster that wrp 6 in areas

  • im sorry if warprohistory urt but i got that ship and my buttons on it work just fine

  • Nice, I used to have the model for Voyager. This takes me back.

  • Here's what I think is up with the nacelles:

When they're in the flat position, it helps for maneuverability, considering that it has impulse engines on the pylons.

When they're up it makes going to warp easier, and it keeps the ship stable at that speed. THis comment is continued......

  • It's possible that, considering what I explained before, that power only goes to the warp nacelles when the are up. So when they do go up, impulse power is deactivated leaving the ship to move with momentum only until they go to warp. When they drop out of warp and bring the nacelles down, power stops transferring to the nacelles and starts transferring to the impulse engines.

  • and plus i got some ships to a romullan warbird, kilingon cruiser, exselsor, and enterprise 6 and original in toy form and in display form

  • they go to from 60 to 80 bucks because they are so rare

  • Voyager sux because the ship took way too much damage for the crew to repair in almost every episode.

  • Okay, let's compare.

Voyager: Not made for heavy combat, smaller vessel used for exploration. Throw in they were cut off completely from Starfleet so they had to do repairs themselves.

Enterprise D: The flag ship of Starfleet, armed for heavy combat. Near constant contact with Starfleet; if they took damage they just had to zip into a space dock for repairs.

Saying the ship sucks purely because it took damage and had to be repaired is just stupid. You need to look at their situation as well.

  • Sorry, I meant Voyager the the show, not Voyager the ship. Ship was cool.

  • I thought Voyager was a Combat ship.

Designed to combat the Marquee vessels, i may be wrong.

  • @ndyt this show had plot holes the size of Janeways bun

  • @drewswift, yeap

  • they rise up because anything between the warp nacelles would disintagrate.

  • the warp engines go up so that they can get a stable warp field.

  • SHUT UP

  • you are such a geek, talking bout theoretical lengths of the ships....I love it! I'm a geek too...it's so fun!

  • Hi, I really enjoyed your show... can you make one about Kling-on vessels? I would really like it if you did! that's all for now.

  • haha i love your enthusiasm

not your kinda weeeeeee nacelles :P

  • That thing is a loud motor. The reason why the warp nacelles went up was to improve warp dynamics. The nacelles down was meant for better slower navigation since the impulse engines are on the pylons.

  • Also the Enterprise (Galaxy Class), Ambassador Class, and Voyager (Intrepid Class) were all a light blue-ish gray color. The models were light blue-gray as well. The Enterprise-E is back to light gray.

  • HAHAHA, just realized your reviews was on VOYAGER, nice reviewdude

  • eh, the only good Star Trek was Voyager, the rest all sucked

  • "I want my spaceships to be white"

Anybody in the mood to scream "RACIST!!!" ?

    No? Oh well...

    (Just kidding ;-))

  • Well... I am from the south...

  • The nacelles go up so that the warp field can stabilise. It also inceases warp capability

  • I tried getting into Star Trek I did get into Next Generation and Deep Space Nine. But they stopped viewing it for a while on BBC2 I didn't have sky then. I started watching things where people speaking That language and Get Married to it and other Bizare stuff. No offence to anyone But I hate Trekkies they tend to get TOO into it. I gess that stuff put me off it more But the new movie looks good might go to see it.

  • To be fair you have that same type of fanbase with anything.

People have gotten married dressed in Star Wars uniforms. Parents have given great thought into naming their children a Transformers character.

Trekkies only get a bad reputation because the media focuses on them more.

  • i am with you on what you just said!

i know that a Tv show in the uk called red dwarf have a big following ( i know this as i live in the uk )

i know that some of then fan of that show are just as mad if not more so then Trekkies are,

my self i am a fan of Transformers, powers rangers, red dwarf , star trek, harry potter, pokemon, yes pokemon, even digimon

so you never find to ppl i think that will like 100% the same stuff 70% the same but not 100%

so the media pic one to Hit out at

  • I heard one guy changed his name to Optimus Prime.

  • At least when you're a Trekkie you keep your own name...

  • the reason for the moving nacelles is that in the trek story, some scientist found that exceding warp 5 in big starships was causing damage to something called subspace, and when voyager class was built, they found that having the nacelles move reduced this damage at higher speeds

out of universe tho, its definatly for the wow factor

  • boooo we want transformers

  • Boldly go where no man has boldly gone before. And also. Sit where no man has sat before in Shatners seat.

  • i have the same Voyager

let me Dig my voyager out

    ok

yes it orso have the bution by my one is not to bad

    re the stands!

my ncc 1701-D for a Fixed stand but my voyager dont

i do know that bouth came with a two batreys cover one for the stand one for when it was off the stand!

i lost my voyager stand now, but have bouth covers!

i orso have the light up voyager

it was a Kit voyager that you can Build one that you dont have to paint!

  • I was just on AOL and they had an article on a new planet outside of our solar system that is 4 times bigger than Jupiter. Now mind you, Jupiter is 1,300 times bigger than Earth, so one could only imagine how big this new planet is to Earth. The discovery of new planets makes me wonder if there really is a "Cybertron", seriously. Call me crazy, but hey whatever. Anyway, this was a good review.

  • Cybertron? as in Transformers? Noo. I Do believe theres another life out there SOMEWHERE Maybe another earth who knows.

  • Do you think there could be something like Transformers out there?

  • I dont know! Do you really believe that? Thats like saying Supermans Real.

I just Believe that there other animal/Bugs and humans more evolutioned like with more or less fingers? more Brainier?

  • Possibly.

  • Well Slightly more POSSIBLE then planets with 100 Feet Robots that can change into cars or Planes.

Why how come you Beleive that?

  • Perhaps I should make myself clear. I was thinking of them being able to transform, but 100 foot robots.....possibly. But whatever.

  • No my Voyager has a similar problem with its buttons.

  • Kick me out of the chat will you? *kicks in the shins*

  • You can blame Shawn for that. I told him I'd kick everyone if I was a moderator.

I'm a man of my word.

  • Then Where's the Scars and The Makeup Mr. JT Joker? Why So Serious? LOL!

  • hey we both said crappy at the same time you owe me a soda

  • Voyager was a good series I watched it when I was in high school. Every Tuesday was Dark Angel and Wednesday night was Voyager followed by Special Unit 2. When seven of nine came into the cast I had a big smile across my face. It would be nice if they made the version of voyager with the extra armor plating the ship got in the last few episodes. I think the port nacells shifting upward is mostly for a wow factor maybe trying something new instead of the standard stationary look

  • Actually if you do a google search for

    Voyager warp nacelles

You'll see the first link explains an issue there was involving damage caused to subspace in a st:tng episode.

  • Can't wait

  • voyager was really dark in the show, like enterprise-e dark

did they ever make a toy/model/whatever of the prometheus?

  • min to

  • Lame dude, lame.
