I agree though, now is pretty pointless to try to buy them. Being as vol.2 goes for around $300 and vol.4 is about $100 each. You're better off keeping you're terrible quality orange bricks rather then trying to get the Dragon Boxes. The new Level sets on Blu-Ray have way better quality then the orange bricks though. Near DBox quality.
@craddle15 many dvds/blu rays lose footage... some dvds are formatted to a higher/lower ratio than they really are. i understand i lose 20% footage but i still get the same dialouge,story, video, so im missing a hair tip or something isnt a big deal in all honesty more fun to watch 16:9 full screen. i got dragon ball on 4:3 i wouldnt mind 16:9

In some scenes you can't even tell some chars are even there anymore. They've been nearly cropped out. I understand that you want to justify your purchase and the money you spent on the Orange Bricks. There's no way you'll ever convince me the Orange Bricks are worth anything more then paper weights.

@derekboy85 On the internet. Not many retail stores ever carried it. They are also OOP (Out of Print) and discontinued. Just do a google search. If you don't have vol.1-4 already. I'd suggest buying the new Blu-rays. The encode is better. Vol 1-3 are not to easy to find. 2 is nearly impossible to find and reaching prices of $200+. 4 is selling out everywhere fast.
If FUNimation won't release Dragonbox: The Movies they should at least release the two specials in Dragonbox format.
It doesn't seem right to watch the whole series without watching the two specials, because whether FUnimation wants to admit or not, they're PART of the series, they're NOT movies. They're as essential to the episodic series as any regular episode is.
Now they need to release Dragon Box The Movies WITH the 2 TV Specials AND the 3 Dragon Ball movies. After that, they must do Dragon Ball Dragon Box (original), and if they want.... GT
FUNimation, please bring Dragon Box: Dragon Ball next when the Z's finally over, just 10 days left till the last box is released.
And then, Dragon Boxes: GT, Films/Specials (+ OVA)
The 2008 OVA doesn't count as a Dragon Box content, it was released as a single and has no relation to the Dragon Boxes, but getting it subbed and released would be nice for my collection.
So it goes on sale, ON MY BIRTHDAY?! I'm going to get this for my self, wrap it up then open it and say thank you to Japan for giving us this great show.
@spongbob2099 I would love to see them make an opposinv revision to Kai where they do the same remastering process on the footage but keep the filler content in and start with DB then go all the way to GT while inserting the movies into their "cannon" timeline slots as a Bluray release.
I have made my decision. Once I get Dragon Box 7 and the remaining parts of Kai, I will be done collecting Z for good. If they decide to release the Z Movies in Dragon Box format, those will officially be my final purchases.
If they decide to release the Dragon Boxes for DB and GT, I will get them. To be clear, what I meant by done collecting them for good, I meant the Z portion of the series. Once I get the final DBZ Box and Kai, then I will be done collecting the Z story for good because I have alot of DBZ stuff and I am planning to sell them in favor of the DBoxes and Kai.

FUNimation announcing DBZ on Blu-ray crushed my hopes of them releasing the rest of the Dragon Boxes, but hopefully when they're done with Dragon Ball Kai they'll move to the Dragon Box the Movies box.
