One of the greatest guitarists of all time covering probably the greatest song of all time. I have never had paid to see indigenous, but I have given donations on several occasions when they have played at the numerous benefits to help someone. A great band doing great things for their people and communities. Mato Nanji is GREAT!
For those that don't know, it's worth noting that Jimi had a grandparent (or was it great-grandparent?) who was American Indian so including Indigenous in the Hendrix tour is so right. Saw Jimi in 68 and he dedicated Will I Live Tomorrow to the American Indian, cool. Also please note that Eric Johnson's Trail of Tears is about that American Indian historical event.
Thanks for posting this! I saw them a few years ago here in Wichita and was blown away. I also met each of them. Mato has such a gift, I cannot believe that they aren't more well-known and popular, yet I shouldn't be surprised in the era of (dare I say it) Lady Gaga and Just Bieber. Except for a very few bands like Indigenous music has gone to the toilet.
@jazzifarian70 I also recorded voodoo chile but didn't post it, as I think I didn't get it all, but 90% of it. so I didn't post it. But loved these last two songs of the night "little wing" and "voodoo chile".
