@Kalidasab It's a bit tougher to balance both laterally and front/back. On the plus side, you do not need to flex the hip of the base leg as much if you have the other as a counterweight. With 2 legs on ground, hips need to go back further to keep from falling forwards.
Do you know if it's ok to stick one leg out behind you to counter balance the object as you lift?

I'm not sure. Probably it would be ok, the main thing is to keep your back straight and to not bend forward too far.
