  • Tom Johnson > Michael McDonald hands down.

  • @bajacore I love the both but Tom really makes this for me.. I know my mother likes Michael's voice better, but I could enjoy either version all day, Tom is really good though!

  • Doobie Brothers は良いね! 最高

    青春時代を思い出します

  • Saw them a few years ago at an outdoor event . It was AMAZING!!!!

  • I do Swaare------They just gets better 'n Better!!!!!! XD

  • This is great, just great. TJ sounds like 40 years haven't passed.

  • I saw this group in about 1980 - FL. At the time Michael McDonald was on the keyboards. GREAT music!!!! Thank-you for sharing this with us!

  • Was at one of their concerts in the 1979 or 80 at the Moncton Coliseum, Monton NB. Got busted at the door - took away my wine sac of run and coke.

  • They're not just an enegma, any more, they're an 'institution". My theme for today's "run" on these guys is: YOU JUST CAN'T HOLD EM DOWN. These men are gonna come back fightin'' in the sense of: Good players, good sound, good material, good vibes, sencerity, honesty, soul and everything they've "got" on stage, (in my opinion, at least). Sincerely, Marc Trainor.

  • @marctrainor :a superb post and correct on every level mate

  • How recent is this, these guys still sound amazing.

  • what beautiful vocals...four men playing guitars, two drum kits, a percussionist, sax and keyboards. They always were one of the best live acts, a wall of sound beautiful stuff. I saw them in NYC first time in 1979 through 1984, then later iterations, Wolf Trap is one of the best venues for a concert.

  • None better than the Doobie Brothers!

  • schau ich mir immer wieder gerne auf 3 sat an sylvester an einfach hamma so kommt man perfekt ins neue jahr hehe

  • Johnston still looks and sounds the same as 30 years ago.

  • @BladeJones Yes wonderful I have loved the Doobies since 1974 (aged 8) I am 45 now and they are still fab!!!

  • Michael McDonald blows... These are the REAL Doobie Brothers!

  • Now that is some damn fine rock and roll.

  • wolf trap was the best place to listen to music i have ever been and the doobies always gave the best show

  • My question is...what does it take to get these guys into the R&R HOF?

  • i definitely need this on my ipod, so goooooooooooood

  • bass player wearing his pajamas!

  • Holy shit, Andre The Giant can play some bass.

  • Why do I not hear the drummers? They're playing but I don't hear them at all. Did something screw up the audio track during upload?

    FK

  • Whatever happened to Tyrone Porter, the original bassist?

  • @jimmy0jam He quit the band to pursue other projects after the 1991 reunion tour.

  • What was the date of this performance?

  • @967370 2004.

  • The guy on the other guitar used to play with "Clover" later to become "Huey Lewis and the News"

  • @jimmy0jam Yeah John McFee join the band in 1979 replace Jeff "Skunk" Baxter.

  • @tazzboy77 I loved "The Skunk" - he used to session with Steely Dan as well. Thanks for the info.

  • the doobs are cool mann

  • There has never been a band that can compare to the talent and music of the Doobie Brothers

  • DOOBIES...UNIQUE!!!

  • Love the solo at :56!!!!

  • Great set of songs at Wolf Trap you have here cottonbuds! I've always loved the Doobies, first live concert I ever saw was with them at Red Rocks theater in Colorado - 1977. They rock!

  • Lead vocalist looks like Bobby Kimbal from TOTO ──── Equal musical talent, different generations - Brilliant....... Give it up for the older guys - THEY ROCK..............

  • @chrisconnolly57 hahaha how can you compare TOTO to the Doobie Brothers?

  • They harmonize really good in the begining, and through the whole song

  • When you attend a Doobie concert it is true entertainment and everyone stands and gets involved. They are so good they are above the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Can't understand why they are not in. Strange.

  • One of the most underrated bands ever....I mean, come on...can you name any other band that was on "What's Happening?"

  • One of the most underrated bands ever....I mean, come on...can you name any other band that was on "What's Happening?"

  • they managed to turn a hippy/biker tune into a over produced sounding tune that makes me think of John tesh.

  • yeah - 10,000 people on their feet dancing... John Tesh can't get anyone on their feet - only blue hairs listen to him... which is still better than your job at the fry station, now... drop another bag and clean the bathrooms when you're done!!

  • @Bossman29577: Fuck you too--idiot

  • Another great song from 1972. My favorite Doobie Brothers Song. Listen To The Music, Yall'
