long live J Dilla! big ups to Illa J! i'm working on a project consisting of all Dilla beats (released or un-released) & if anyone can get in touch with the Yancey Estate please inbox me. i want them to see how Dilla's work inspired me. i already uploaded a few on my channel anything with a picture of Dilla feel free to check it out & give your input i want to make sure i'm doing his work justice. peace & blessings!
Damn we think we have it bad losing a great Musician. Illa J lost his own brother. A loved one. I'm glad he is staying positive though. He is a pretty good rapper.
Not to make it racial, but Im black and I try to make it to shows like this, The PUTS, Murs, Time Machine and it is a lot of white people at these shows... But then these black people around me are just lost in everyway possible because they dont like to reflect on their days and see what they really like. These black people hear always saying the shit I listen to is wack, but thats just because they dont take the time to listen and understand and dont do any research on anything, theyre lost.
And thats why I dont look to the industry to influence my taste in music. If you are one of those people that dont know what they like in music then thats sad because noone, money shouldnt dictate what music you like.

Cos they're the ones that ain't caught up in dat fake gangsta sh#t.
They appreciate and PAY for the ral sh#t, WE DON'T.
We call em 'back packers' cos we wanna make our REAL rappers be peceived as lesser men than the fake gangster rappers who plague our tv screens.
The majority of music is Black and belongs to us, but the love of music is universal.

I hear dat. But its not all our people dont make us look bad like dat.
On a real, I don't blame my people. Anyone born from 1990+ would struggle to know anything bout real hip hop.
The music industry is tightly controlled by rich elite white men who've studied how to keep us dumb and shookin n jivin.
So we relate to what we see.
What angers me is dudes my age who listen to the trash dat degrades us.
