Now, if we can get the center/qb exchange figured out I think the more pro-style offense they will be running can actually flourish. Now, we can do more speed option plays with demps instead of the power option with tebow. Also, without a doubt brantley is a better pure passer. this allows us to do more of a passed based offensive attack. We have one thing that OU team did not. A good defense. Our Achilles heel going forward will be the qb/center exchange.
Well, Tebow's passes look great. I have no idea what you're talking about. His throws are accurate with zip and he especially makes great throws on the run. He threw very few interceptions at Forida. Look at his passing stats and tell me what was wrong with them? Seriously, he may have been the best passer in college football. It's possible. And keep in mind that he had the numbers he did with top 4 schedule strength.
And you look at last year, after Tebow lost his two best receivers, both of which started in the NFL as rookies? Harvin won AP offensive rookie of the year.
And then you have Addazio, the new OC last year. Gee, did you think the play calling was all that great? How about having a rushing offense that averaged about 270 yards-per-game, but only attempting a few runs up the middle against Alabama?

@hippiechic71 yeah, i'm sure brantley will be just fine but florida's gonna have to get used to not having tebow back there to run the ball. it's kinda like what'll happen to us when pryor is gone. anyway, miami played a pretty good game but jacory harris played about as bad as any qb i've seen in a long time. i hope the u wins out this year because that'd help us. oh and next year's game in miami will be really good, esp if pryor stays and harris improves.

@Gatorfan12e yeah, florida's defense has looked good but aginst inferior teams. so we'll see about that. bama looks real good and it's kinda strange because in a title game match-up, bama would be the smashmouth, power team while we'd be the speed team. i know the speed difference isn't as big as it used to be but just seems weird.

Florida will win the nation championship this year. As much as i love timmy, i think our offense will be even better this year. It will be much less predictable. I wouldn't be surprised if bama beats us in the regular season but come sec champtionship, they will overlook us and we will wreck them. IMO bama is the only team that has a shot to beat us. OSU is garbage. the big 12 is garbage. other then that maybe boise. but who cares. everyone is GATOR BAIT. GO GATORS!!!!!!

@Zeldovich I go to UF right now asshole. But yes, I think the offense can improve without tebow. It was great in 07 but after that it became rather predictable. Now, if we can get the center/qb exchange figured out I think the more pro-style offense they will be running can actually flourish. I think it will be reminiscent to the OU offense from the year UF beat them in the title game. I am a huge tebow fan but I think we can improve.

And do you think Meyer wants to run a more pro-style offense? He's about the spread option and ran it in a purer form with Tebow. if he thought Brantley was the better QB, wouldn't he have played him and used a more pro-style offense?
Then you mention an OU offense that lost to both Texas and Florida, the latter thanks largely to Tebow!

@Zeldovich I never said that Brantley was better. I simply said that with tebow, the offense got to the point where it was quite predictable. Now, we can do more speed option plays with demps instead of the power option with tebow. Also, without a doubt brantley is a better pure passer. this allows us to do more of a passed based offensive attack. We have one thing that OU team did not. A good defense. Our Achilles heel going forward will be the qb/center exchange.

Well, Tebow's passes look great. I have no idea what you're talking about. His throws are accurate with zip and he especially makes great throws on the run. He threw very few interceptions at Forida. Look at his passing stats and tell me what was wrong with them? Seriously, he may have been the best passer in college football. It's possible. And keep in mind that he had the numbers he did with top 4 schedule strength.

And then you have Addazio, the new OC last year. Gee, did you think the play calling was all that great? How about having a rushing offense that averaged about 270 yards-per-game, but only attempting a few runs up the middle against Alabama?

I have had faith in tebows passing ability from the start but it is just a fact that John brantley is a better natural passer. Did he do amazing on Saturday? No. Will he improve? Yes. @Yankeegator I totally agree. Brantley was the one to break Tebow's record for most TD passes in high school. I was at the Orange and Blue debut, and got to see Brantley's opening play - a 40-something yard pass to a receiver. At the MINIMUM, we've got to at least get the SEC East.
