@TheRealEricLester This song isn't actually Native American btw, main vocals are an authentic Sami joik called "Normo Jovnna" sung by Terje Tretnes, recorded in 1994 by Dutch Channel 4 during an interview as an example of a Joik. However, despite Channel 4's denying selling the recording, it ended up by mysterious ways in Virgin Records studio in Holland. The joik is about Normo Jovnna who got this joik after he fought with a bear with his bare hands. Hope that helps.
The Native American peoples and their culture are so articulate and beautiful. They understand the universal laws of nature, and how to be in tune with all of Earth's sentient beings i.e. the elements, trees, grass, plants, animals etc. I think the Whiteman took a turn for the worse when they tried to decimate the Indians, and bury their heritage/culture with it. I do not praise the "Holy Bible" but instead I praise for the coming of the Archaic Revival, in the words of Terrence McKenna

and the land were divided...but wars, disagrements, famine, superior feelings, and hate but those who were forgoten and now hated were brothers....but the Meshicas still have the brothers up there in the blue mountains. The only chain who is attached stil is trought the Mexican`s Eyes Eagle.
HAHA First I laugh for one reason, I have listened to Sacred Spirit for years, and I never knew they had Music Videos, and that VH1 actually showed them in a word that is AWESOME!
Second I agree CaitlinIntolerant.... No one should should Stop mourning what happens to their people. If the Africans and Natives stopped mourning, Well you know the Saying History Repeats itself!.
30.000 years ago Turks and Native Americans were same people on the /İSLAND MU / after 30.000 years, we have same words, same cultures, same habitats, same religion, same dna , this is creater's job .
@MrInsanolun oh i see you are from Turkey. Not same culture you have with the native indians oke. Same religion?!? Who told you that?? They are not muslims oke. Dont change the history of this indians!!. I have indian blood too but my love is muslim, so dont think i hate muslims. But i am telling you they are not muslims!!
@lambada1972 i know they are not muslim, Indians were shamanist, aren't they ? we Turks were shamanist too.We started to believe muslim religion 1.000 years ago,but we have 10.000 years history before muslim religion. I am a muslim but i am not a radical muslim, i like all religions.
maybe there are some native americans who converts to islam? i mean in mexico is islam a growin religion in the native american culture. so its not easy to say they are muslims or not...because you dont know all native americans and their opinion to the islam or other religions.
@Chronos06 You have lot of black people too who converts to islam!!, and other races!!. Turks are not indians!!, and not same culture!!!. Oke you are right about islam that some convert it or not. But if a Turk come here to tell that they have same religion than that is not true, because he mean all are muslims!!!. Arabs are arabs, blacks are blacks, indians are indians, Turks are Turks!!!! You are what you are!!!
@Chronos06 Thank you for understanding, but i understand you too. I have indian blood too and i am so proud of this culture!!. My fiancee is arabic and muslim, but he respect me and i respect him. I like indian spiritual music. It make me feel good and let me forget all the bad things at that moment.
that sounds good :). i like both cultures...arabic and native american. both have many beautiful things in their culture. and both have beautiful women :D

I looked up the song Normo Jowna...this song is complete copy of it, but it's not bad. It's origins however are in fact Scandinavian and not Native American
im Native all the way to those people that who are not Natives needs to keep there mouth shut this is my heritage we take offence of that so any Natives out there hit me up
@eclipse96ful The main vocals are an authentic Sami joik called "Normo Jovnna" sung by Terje Tretnes, recorded in 1994 by Dutch Channel 4 during an interview as an example of a Joik. However, despite Channel 4's denying selling the recording,it ended up by mysterious ways in Virgin Records studio in Holland. The joik is about Normo Jovnna who got this joik after he fought with a bear with his bare hands
This song is NOT Native American, but I definitely agree with you and I'm part native myself.
I cry everytime I see this video, I am not a baby, so much suffering, get on the back of my harley, get your uzzi and lets go find some arrogant men in expensive suits.
There are no natives in any country just tribal migrations, changes and extinctions, for the celts for the german tribes, for all people. We are all brothers and sisters living on one big island in space. Why not respect our art and culture in all its forms. Respect.
when the world crys in the earth...will it trully heal the pain we all suffer? even if new life will be anew. all must remember we are brother and sisters. we need to stand be each other no matter what we are....Sorry random sounding
I love this song... It makes me so calm, just listening to the birds outside, playing in the garden ^^ Remembering how pretty nature is and how we have to keep her safe from white trash in the government that figure shooting wolves or other animals is ok, because they're so called dangerous and stuff.
In 1800 there were 20 million native Americans and 5 million whites. By 1900 there were 200,000 Native Americans and 75 million whites. Today more than 2 million. By 2050 which I hope you will see there is expected to be 4 million. There is hope, provided 'white eyes' stops speaking with 'forked tongue' and honours his Great White Chief treaties. The 600 Nations must speak as one voice. "Hockay hey"! Said by Crazy Horse,"It is a good time to die" - also the Bushido code of the Samurai. Peace
beautiful tune. so peaceful and relaxing. Native American Indian people are lovely people who should be respected and not be hated. we r all humans,,,, and we should try to live in peave aand love one another
@mysterygirl20101 I agree, we are all a part of humanity and should live together as 'One' in love, peace and harmony. And it is possible to; First thing is each and every single one of us has to 'Choose' it as a part of there reality, not only think it but also 'be' it . We 'become' our experiences, experience what we think and think what we feel. Some people do not know how to feel, some people do not like to feel and some are confused; thus they hate the thing they cannot understand. Peace.
How such a beautiful culture was ravished by ignorance needs to be more openly voiced to the public, so that this won't happen again. We feed off of what the Native Americans have given us, and that which we've taken, and pay no tribute to them.
@Nagualification I'm sorry but being rude to someone who respects the way native culture but misunderstood some parts of it is not right. The creator put us here to live the way of the land, not bite someone that doesn't understand it.
White man are greedy and evil there is nothing else to understand all they care for is themselves
ok respect to all american indians out there but please stop this heritage crap. "the white man took it away.." and sh*t. raise up and be strong people and stop crying
@badattitude77769 Dude there are people dying in countries having no protection from sicknesses due to high costs of good vaccines and even greater problems. You are a fool if you think im heartless. I have seen people die in thier own shit over weeks due to heavy cancer (etc) with no family - not a fucking soul to mourn thier loss and THAT you asshole is somthing that strikes ones heartt. Not someone complaining about something he didnt even witness.
like this song. But it's not a native song, it's composed by Oliver Shanti (Born Ulrich Schulz in Hamburg Germany) he's a new age composer. The language is made up, It has a nice sound to it though :)
The symbolism in this video is well thought out. A young couple stays in a hotel or motel ( natives are displaced or not on original land/home) They are watching or learning about thier own culture from TV (Learning about thier ancestery and ways from the current government/people, a displaced viewpoint on thier own ideals) Like it... Well done.
Even the natives "stole" this land from some one else white or not, this whole earth is one of dominant cultures and ways of life. As much as I respect this music, and natives they killed and wared with each other accept for the Hopi's who to this day refuse to fight in war. Look at the big picture. Not hatred.
I'm not any colour i'm a being of passion and love who was born to this earth and shall die to this earth in times to come, my maker was my parents and my parents maker was their parents, my country is just a place I was born into but my life is the earth itself, I am one with myself and with my fellow human beings, all may curse and talk down to me but they will always be my equal.
Im White but have some Native American blood but not sure what tribe or anything, it was wrong what happend in the past but we all need to come together as a one and make the Country what in once was. i have the up most highest respect for any Native America.... great song btw
A beautiful song, I remember listening to the Sacred Spirit chants to help me sleep as a child.
I don't understand why a piece of music can't be beautiful without having to speak out against or for something. So what if anglo-spaniards invaded? it happened centuries ago. So what if you're half cherokee? Does it make your appreciation better than others?
He waiata tino ataahua(A very beautiful song).A big kia kaha(stay strong) to our native american brothers and sisters from the Maori people of Aotearoa(New Zealand).
Believe me, there are plenty of us who fall under the category of "white" who hate the horrible way that most people mistreat the Earth, as well as the indigenous cultures of places around the world.
very nice tune. what does it mean in english. I am facinated with the Native American Indian culture and everything. I think Native American Indian people are a strong nation and I would love to get to know a Native American much more. We are meant to be civil to one another, no matter what race, colour, religion etc but sadly that is not the way things are right now... but please God some day.

I went to war, as it is the custom of our people and earned two feathers. Why is it then that I do not feel like a great warrior, but feel only the pain of guilt and regret. Manitoumahwhingon Ghost of a Wolf Chippewa
No land is any man's land, but the blame lies within the white eyes ancestors for overtaking it. It is they who have broken the bond between Native Americans and Mother Earth and we are trying to restore that bond. It does not matter how much native blood you have nor the color of your skin. What matters, is if you have the want to be as ONE with ALL things...RISE NATIVES!!!! RISE!!! --thanks for posting this video!
I love it when people think they know about Indian culture. I myself have Native American heritage, but am no where near being full blooded and living the traditional Native way (though I would if I had the means. It's a beautiful existence to be one with nature). Native Americans believe the Earth to be sacred and home and mother to all life, and that she could not be owned nor conquered by man, and that we were to respect her. It is sad to see that culture all but erased in the face of
This is a beautiful chant, unfortunately it is not native American although people who have been robbed of their culture have been duped into believing so. It's a ancient chant from the Sami people of Lapland. The group who arranged & produced this rendition are German & they knowingly mislabeled the song.
i,m Aztec dancers and i feel to much respect for you and all the natives tribes i love your dance is similar to my dance four elements is all the we need and the drums tiahui my friends
does anybody know of the watti tribe? im not sure if thats even the real name of my fathers tribe, i didnt grow up with him and unfortunately i never got to ask him before he left this world. I miss him so much and want to at least know the history of my family but there isnt anyone alive in my family i can ask. i tried researching the watti tribe but could find nothing, please does anyone knows of a tribe in the west that remotely sounds like watti
@thecheechoftheages I can't truly say what the tribes of the west are since I reside in the east, but their history may have been destroyed by the imperialistic frontiersmen of the 1800s and early 1900s. All I know about my background is that my great-great-grandmother was from the Squall (Cherokee) tribe. But I wish you luck on your search, from a descendant of the eastern tribes to a descendant of the western tribes. native-languages(dot)org may be of some use to you, if you know your state
@EldarForLife the present is a result of the past, and how can we not dream of tomorrow, when tomorrow comes through the actions and choices we make today?
PPL forget when white man came to this side of the world Native Americans where already here. They ownd this land but the white man wanted what was not theres.
Im Half Cherokee my Father was Cherokee and my mother was half Cherokee.
@hewlejr Did you or your ancestors harm her people? I don´t think so! Then there is no reason to be ashamed! There are good and bad people in every race, and all we white people can do is :show that not all of us are ignorant *****! And that we respect other cultures and traditions!
@sweetcowgurl24 It kills me when they think it's there lane. "Take America back" What's that supposed to mean? Like those white nationalist who want to kick everyone out. Oh, the hypocrisy.
@ASacredSpirit I didnt say Take America Back. Im just Tried of PPL on here being so racist that what i was tring to get a crossed. I was tring to tell ppl that Natives where here long before the white every come the this side of the world.

If the Africans and Natives stopped mourning, Well you know the Saying History Repeats itself!.

maybe there are some native americans who converts to islam? i mean in mexico is islam a growin religion in the native american culture. so its not easy to say they are muslims or not...because you dont know all native americans and their opinion to the islam or other religions.
Chronos06 6 months ago
@Chronos06 You have lot of black people too who converts to islam!!, and other races!!. Turks are not indians!!, and not same culture!!!. Oke you are right about islam that some convert it or not. But if a Turk come here to tell that they have same religion than that is not true, because he mean all are muslims!!!. Arabs are arabs, blacks are blacks, indians are indians, Turks are Turks!!!! You are what you are!!!

Native American Indian people are lovely people who should be respected and not be hated. we r all humans,,,, and we should try to live in peave aand love one another
mysterygirl20101 10 months ago
@mysterygirl20101 I agree, we are all a part of humanity and should live together as 'One' in love, peace and harmony. And it is possible to; First thing is each and every single one of us has to 'Choose' it as a part of there reality, not only think it but also 'be' it . We 'become' our experiences, experience what we think and think what we feel. Some people do not know how to feel, some people do not like to feel and some are confused; thus they hate the thing they cannot understand. Peace.

@dipidulor
You've a right to feel how you feel,
but your ignorance to the depth of the situation is expressed in your displeasure in a culture expressing its pain.
Americans cry about the economy every day, yet recessions have happened for a long time.
African Americans have mourned the misfortunes that befell them,
as have Native Americans.
You can't expect one culture to lay down and "stop crying" without looking at your own culture and understanding why people are how they are.
CaitlinIntolerant 10 months ago 31
How such a beautiful culture was ravished by ignorance needs to be more openly voiced to the public, so that this won't happen again. We feed off of what the Native Americans have given us, and that which we've taken, and pay no tribute to them.
Our culture is also theirs.
Our life came from theirs.
It's sad.

Well done.
andrebishop22 11 months ago
Even the natives "stole" this land from some one else white or not, this whole earth is one of dominant cultures and ways of life. As much as I respect this music, and natives they killed and wared with each other accept for the Hopi's who to this day refuse to fight in war. Look at the big picture. Not hatred.

Just enjoy it for what it is.

No land is any man's land, but the blame lies within the white eyes ancestors for overtaking it. It is they who have broken the bond between Native Americans and Mother Earth and we are trying to restore that bond. It does not matter how much native blood you have nor the color of your skin.
