i hate to see everyone downing dale midkiff. number one he is not the one singing in the movie if you watch the last video its says who does all the singing. also this part of the movie he was pretraying elvis when he was young & in the army & before his side burns & stuff were really a big thing this was early on in his career in the later videos more of that comes out. i happen to adore this movie & think it is one of the best stories of all time

Regardless of the disputes I think Priscilla REALLY loved Elvis, to this day, but after awhile she saw the distructive path he was on and you can't sit back and watch that. Besides He wouldn't touch her after Lisa was born, he believed a mother was sacrede and wouldn't make love to her how do you live your life like that?

@carolinatxj That is NOT TRUE that Elvis wouldn't touch Priscilla after Lisa was born. She says in her book they made love "passionately" through the pregnancy, & DID do it again after, but it took awhile & she hints the passion had lessened which is all normal. This movie is a good example of her giving the wrong impression by leaving out 68-72 to better justify her own actions. Also,they were BOTH having affairs in 68, & one of Elvis's affairs SUSAN HENNING had a one year old child!

Elvis was private person and god knows what died with that man. I guess your life is so spotless and you have NO SIN and can sit in judgement of others!!!!

I have given the documented facts that this movie leaves out the yrs. 69-72 thus leaving out the FACT as stated in Priscilla's OWN book that she & Elvis did make love again after Lisa was born & she had an affair with her dance instructor 'Mark" in '68. I gave the OPINION these omissions may have been to make her look more innocent & better justified.

Priscilla said clearly in her book that she & Elvis did have sex again after Lisa was born & in an interview that is on Elvis Presley News. she corrected them & states she & Elvis WERE having sex. It is a misconception which may have started because it was left out of her movie & has been repeated on some venues, & definitely is twisted & promoted by haters, along with complete LIES, on the internet to demean Elvis as a man!

No Kurt Russell in 1979 as Elvis was brilliant but Dale Midkiff also did a great job. Thanks for reminding me about Kurt Russell I wonder if it can be seen on Youtube.

@xyPERSON For me what made Russell so good was that he didn't try to act all that much like Elvis he just acted like himself, Kurt Russell with just a hint of Elvis. Since Kurt naturally has allot of Elvis' mannerisms with his walk and gestures and vocal inflections I don't think it can ever be topped. Kurt to this day reminds me of Elvis

zvarofsky Well, they were BOTH having affairs during the marriage, & anything before they were engaged in 66 would not be betrayal. He had other girls in Germany. They only show a "bad girl," but he also had his19 yr secretary/ gf Elizabeth Stafaniak living there & he made several trips to the Lido girls in Paris. After Elvis left in Mar 60, Pris. made 2 brief trips in 62, & they both dated others for the next 3 yrs. Elvis had Anita Wood waiting in Memphis who did not move out until 3/62.

He also had affairs with his leading ladies, and Priscilla dated boys in high school. Elvis met, had an affair with, & fell in love with Ann Margret a few months after Priscilla moved to Graceland in Mar. 63.which they make light of here, but in Guralnick's "Careless Love" Priscilla revealed she knew how serious it was. Elvis loved Priscilla too, but in my opinion because of their time apart it was idealized and couldn't live up to reality.

@epmelodygirl I'm correcting my own post .Anita Wood moved out of Graceland on 8/6/62. (not3/62) Previously Anita had found a letter from Priscilla asking Elvis to convince her parents to let her visit. Priscilla's 1st visit was 6/17/62 to 7/1/62 in CA with a trip to Vegas, & after that Anita heard Elvis trying to decide between them & moved.out. See Elvis's interview with Parade magazine Sept 62 where he says he would like to find that one special girl--someday. He had not found her yet!

As June Juanico says there were only a few "bad girls" in the whole school--girls known to have sex. She said Elvis wanted to have sex with her, but she refused and he respected that. It was considered okay for a guy to have girls on the side that "put out" however. Anita Wood understood this, but her virgin claims are put in doubt by Elvis's love letter to Anita on YT

The letters she found are mostly from Anita Wood who Elvis dated since 1957, gave a promise ring before he left for Germany, and called and wrote the whole time. See Elvis's love letter to Anita written from Germany on my channel. It gets sexy at the end, but shows a very vulnerable and unsure of himself person. Elvis would date Anita when he returned in 3/60, and she did not move out of Graceland until 8/62. Priscilla moved in 3/63.
