being an aussie is so crap we are parity with the US but no importers or companies like steam pass any of the savings there now making due to our high dollar from us, eg. we pay 200,000 aussie for good mercs which go for 80,000 aussie (converted) in britain or the US (they pay around the same price). We have luxary import tax on cars but this has always been around, the price of these cars should have halfed with the fall of our dollar but they havnt its bullshit

I can never really wrap my head around the whole "the guns are too big" complaint. I play these games and hardly even notice the guns, and then people (far more than just TB) start complaining about the gun size and how much it distracts from the game. I... just don't see it.

Maybe it's just because I don't care about the "competitive" scene for shooters, I don't know, but I handle guns quite frequently in real life and, well... they're not dainty.

Why does TB have such an issue with linear shooters?? So what if it's linear. If it's linear then think of it as watching a movie, except instead of watching it, you're PLAYING it. Linear campaigns would also keep the story going and make for better plot development. Games like COD and Battlefield are linear because they had plot in mind, making for much better story-telling. On the other hand there's Skyrim, and let's face it people. Did anyone care about the main quest line?

See, there's a pattern here for Australian game prices:

New-ish titles are about double the price they should be to begin with, due to our retailers bitching and whining to the publishers 'cos their business model of fucking ridiculously overpricing everything is under threat by online shopping.

TBH, half, and I mean HALF, the retailers in our country needs to go out of business before our real estate industry realises our property prices (and thereby store rents) are way too high.

That's a load of shit. The price hikes are artificial, as evidenced by stores such as Dungeon Crawl being able to charge fair prices via parallel importing. BECAUSE they don't have to kowtow to the distributors.

Also, I can personally import a game that is packaged in Australia, shipped to asia, and sold there at a THIRD of the price they sell it here. If you don't get how much Aussies are being buttfucked, well, there isn't much more to say.

I have to say that I actually enjoyed empire more than shogun. Shogun only had about 30 different units at launch and after 10hrs I was bored. Compare that to empire 4 which I have 227 hrs. But Rome and medieval 2 are still the best ones. And both l4ds r brilliant though I am not sure why u would play the 1st 1 cos the2nd has all the original campaigns.
