feces often contain microbes that aid in digestion, lots of animals do this, herbivorous reptiles are especially known to do this, think of it as activia yogurt for animals
its fair to say pick the poop up.. which me and my partner do but my yellow labrador (6 months old) is trying to eat it as it comes out her backend.. its driving me crazy we are always out waiting to run and catch her poop as soon as it hits ground... nightmare i regret getting her becuase of it im not used to dogs being such hard work.. its my first time having a labrador.. aside form that i love her to bits
My girl does this..and has a preference with cat poop. -_-' This was actually quite informative, because the girl is the one that does it, not the boy. <.<
My 7mth old female GSD does this and always has. Some people say females are more prone to this because they do this naturally when they have pups. We do try to discourage it as it's not the most sociable of habits and her breath.....well! We lovingly call it 'recycling'!
I trust her 'nose' and believe that if it was bad for her then she wouldn't eat it.
