  • How on Earth did you get that foghorn to go off on cue??? That was funny... yet awesome!

  • Hi D., how long did it take to completely construct and assemble the dining salon set? When was the first time you viewed the movie? I first saw it at age 11 and was instantly obsessed by the detail and special effects. I wish your remake of the film were available on DVD!

  • @Mercman70 The dining salon was done twice, once VERY cheaply when I thought this would be a five minute parody, and took about a week, when I realized it was going to be more than five minutes I re-did the whole thing, painted the backdrops to look as close to the room as possible; spray-painted thrift-store chairs gold, the tableclothes, centerpieces, the whole bit, and it probably took a month, maybe? I wanted to get going on filming so I wasted no time!

  • As a diehard fan of the '72 classic film, I LOVED your parody. It is brilliant! I have watched it again and again. It is hilarious! You are so very talented.

  • @Mercman70 Thank you very much, Mercman! Much appreciated! The original "Poseidon" is STILL my favorite and I am spoofing it again even now (only with dolls - this makes for smaller sets!) : D

  • "jack is back at the garage w/ chico" lol great very well done- its in the details, & this gets it right...i haven't laughed at a video this much in a while!! can't wait to see where red buttons falls for nonnie ? or Lonnie or whatever the she calls herself..i call her "Hot Legs" same for Pam Sue Martin.. 2 great pairs of legs that help keep my attention in the original movie!

  • @MOSKII58 Glad you dug it, Curt! Yes, I just didn't want to mess with Jack's make-up job, so having Shelley say he was back at the garage took care of that! Oh and Nonnie - I wanted to add Nonnie and Red gags, but somehow in making this I actually *forgot* about her!!! Shame, shame, I had to do most of her scenes later-! AND re-do Stella's, when I found a way cooler set of fake boobs to use... : D

  • God even better than your 'Psycho' one Paul!!! You resemblance to Ernest Borgnine is amazing - especially the vest. You are brilliant mate!

  • @kamelion7 Thank you! NOW I can make an even scarier Ernest Borgnine, what with a few years on me. It's truly terrifying. But doing his voice, OHHH I need an entire tin of lozenges after two sentences!

  • Your ship has no lifeboats on it! I love it!

  • what about Jack Albertson?

  • @CRAIGSWORLD1427 To be honest, he was too make-up intensive! (I know, I go to all the work to be the women, but...) I did not want to mess with a partial bald wig and the mustache! So I was lazy, and Belle says (at some point) how glad she was she left him back in the states at Chico's Garage (so she can get some hanky-panky in during the cruise).

  • OMG histerical!!!! Love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • @sexyboy737 Thank you, Sexy! I am glad you found it, you look like total ship-fan! : )

  • @AVGuy2981 Thanks! I am flattered! There IS a way to do it, I actually had to do it with another video that was ONLY on Youtube (I lost the original!!) & a friend did some kind of "burning" thing, I dunno how, & made me a disc of it. It was only 3 minutes though, but also an old VHS thing, as is this Poseidon spoof, so quality was not compromised, though Youtube does tend to pixellize a wee bit. Only problem is this is in 8 parts, so I dunno how you could do it with continuity "breaks?"

  • What footage is that at 1:36? Looks cool!

  • @thebradybunchlover It's from "Gentleman Prefer Blondes." It says "Queen Mary" on it, but it's backwards, AND it's a partial model of the Titanic, so it's quite the mess...

  • Were you ACUALLY on the Queen Mary?

  • @thebradybunchlover Yes, I drove to Los Angeles one spring and brought ALL my wigs and dresses and stuff to shoot some scenes ON the actual ship in Long Beach. Many of them on the exact same spots they shot some of the movies scenes on in 1972.

  • You acually had Queen Mary shots?! lucky!

  • Is it just 1 person who play EVERYBODY? or what?

  • @thebradybunchlover Yup! That was/is me, starting in the mid-90's till about 2000-something (it took a long time).

  • @CrashingCrockery WOW! You like discised yourself VERY good!

  • @thebradybunchlover Thank you. It took a lot of wigs and costumes to duplicate the ones in the actual "Poseidon Adventure," but it was fun. Mrs. Rosen's (Shelly Winters) dress was the hardest. Mrs. Rogo's (Stella Stevens) was just a white nightgown!

  • This is actually pretty funny and very clever--good job!

  • @ewolet Thanks! Part Two gets better...

  • @SimfoxStudios Hee! TOTALLY Titanic, but I am not positive, a stock shot I ripped off from "Gentleman Prefer Blondes..."

  • What's the song at 6:12? By whom?

Also, great parody of a classic

  • @RandomPoseidon01 Thank you! The song is a cover of the 1966 hit "Hey there, Georgie Girl." It was from a film, and originally done by "The Seekers;" however this was a tacky cover version from one of several hundred albums released of "Popular Hits," often performed by uncredited or VAGUE orchestras, I think this one was from a "Reader's Digest" 6 record-set.

  • " don't forget, in the book, you die! "

    LMFAO!!!

  • this is genius LOL

  • Thanks, Tanrat!

  • the ernest borgnine has an uncanny resemblance...but the carol lynnley it the funniest....

  • Yes, Ernest. I frighten myself doing him (and also trash my vocal chords). At least for Nonnie all I had to do was be vague and lip sync... : D

  • well, the whole thing is very well done....

  • Thank you most kindly! In the end that is all that matters. My vocal chords have healed since then...!

  • youre welcome...keep up the good work..

  • Magnificent as I always new it would be. Great job old chum.

    Kudos,

    Charly in Memphis

  • DO IT! Pull it off! I have "ALWAYS* wanted to see someone spoof it! I saw ONE, where someone did it with hamsters, and another with Legos, but...

  • now we know were many is

  • This is too funny! Very good! Thanks for the laugh!

    Love,

    Mama

  • Thank YOU, Mama! ...wait till you get to part three - if ya get that far!

  • nvm first 3 minutes werent funny the rest waz hilaurious

  • so funny i 4got to laugh

  • I am PROUD to say that I've seen this entire movie at live screenings on more than one occasion and laughed my ass off every time! One of the things that actually makes this parody BETTER than the original is the protracted capsize sequence. After seeing Paul's version, the original movie is a bit of a disappointment!

  • OMG, this is just freaken too funny, I bet mad tv and SNL couldn't do anything like this. just....OMG..... LOL

  • This is even better than the first one!!!

"Don't forget...in the book, you die." LOL. I agree with footloose5, you are so talented, playing all those characters!

  • Hee! Fun but nightmarish too - imagine ALL those VHS tapes: "Tape One: Fat Lady;" "Tape Two: Reverend;" "Tape Two: Ernest Borgnine;" "Tape Three: Ernest Borgnine's Wife," and on and on and on! It was a MESS!!!...and then ALL the extras, oh my my my....

  • I'm sure it took a lot of hard work and got confusing. But it was worth it. This turned out great.

  • This is too funny, love it!!!!!!!!!!!! You are very talented Paul!
