question - how do you know the non eastern bloc runners were not taking drugs just because they were running for themselves? Can anybody say all western runners were clean. If that is what people think they they are pretty naive.

I think the important point is that the Eastern Bloc drug program was systematic and comprehensive while non-Eastern Bloc drug involvement is episodic. Do you have evidence to dispute this?

Hmmm - Waldemar ist nicht gerade ein schöner Name, finde ich. Wäre mal interessant zu erfahren, wie viele Männer, die im Sommer 1980 in Ostdeutschland geboren wurden, nun tatsächlich Waldemar heißen.

Viele sind es wohl nicht - nach meiner Erfahrung heißen sie meistens Mike/Maik, Marcel, Sylvio, Enrico oder René. Und ihre Freundinnen heißen Peggy, Mandy, Sandy oder Schackeliine.

Was nicht heißen soll, dass es hier in Westdeutschland originellere Kindernamen gibt. *gg*
