@sailormanpete Could be clogged breather filters.One night I cleaned out the air/water seperators on my towboat & the pilot was wondering what they'd done to the boat 'cause she was running so much better that night.

Not enough air in the mix is the usual culprit when a Diesel blackstacks.

I was on the Diane Moore. That is the one in the beginning of the video. We wen't facing off. The other tug had a problem with there azipod not turning backwards and we had to push it back for them. If we where ever caught doing that, we would be in big trouble.

how can a tug boat use a azipod. I thought they just used a prop and rudder system due to the fact that you guys are pushing heavy loads. Plus how can you turn one without getting under water. I dont know much about tugs but am just curious.
