WJL fully understands your point of views. We believe that our goals are the same, but just differ in philosophy. We appreciate your efforts in promoting Chinese swordsmanship. We wish you the best of luck on the upcoming tournament.
Wuming- This tends to happen when light weight "weapons" are used, without the dangers that come with real weight wood or steel blunt swords, swordplay tends to become a game of tag. The same is often true in sport fencing.
I find myself in agreement with Chen, the swordplay presented is little more than wild attacks, no offense to these two, but they would have difficult time facing the speed of even an average sport fencer.
I appreciate that these two men got out there, but their play has little to do with Chinese Swordsmanship, it is simply wild lunges, no deflections, little control, wacking blades together.
We thank you for your comments. The purpose of the league is to search for people with knowledge in Chinese swordsmanship. We are not promoting any specific style or school, but just hosting an open competitve forum. This way techniques and knowledge can go under rigorous peer reviews, thus stimulate positive growth in the art. We are open to competition rules, as long as both side agrees that it can demonstrate true mastery of Jianshu and competition can be conducted fairly.
