  • Marc

    ♥

  • I possesed the entire video of the tube performance.. It`s absolutly brilliant. Marc wreckes a mic in the end after he got pissed off with a previous mic not working.

  • Theres been another vid added to this by someone else BEWARE!!!

  • El Martin de Soft Cell y el Martín de Sábato en "sobre Héroes y tumbas" no son disímiles. Una vez, yo también amé a una Alejandra; una vez fui Martin y muchas, pero muchas veces, quise ser Marc Almond.

  • This song have dedicated Marc Almond to Martin Gore : #

  • Spot the PTV cross Marc is wearing.

  • one of my favourite pieces of memorabilia of my youth

  • fab didnt know footage existed

  • Three people have no taste.

  • These lyrics remind me of myself. Marc and Dave are fucking geniuses!!

  • los mejoressssssssss

  • el mejor grupo el q me ha marcado "soft cell" simplemente geniales!

  • This would be perfect for a megaman x theme

  • I totally forgot about this song!! how awesome to see marc sing it live!!! Sweet Thanks for the memories!!

  • a great concert it was !

  • LOVE YOU MARTIN

  • theo19651 SNAP

  • wow!

  • I saw this broadcast as a nipper. My favourite Soft Cell track from the Falling Apart era.

  • Martin Walsh I saw this when I was young... frightening - gave me nightmares... I thought it was all about me

  • Soft cell doesnt get better than this.

  • Best Cold-Wave Song !

  • i bought the album Art of Falling Apart in 83,,,,,,this album was the Soft Cell for me,plus This Last Night in Sodom album,,,,both on par with the early Soft Cells..The Girl with the Leather Patent Face....I hated Tainted Love due to it being overplayed ...i felt like the masses were robbing my group...lol...i wore all black, dyed black crimped hair, black eyeliner....i loved being young in the early 80s and getting stared at!!lol,,,,being gay and alternative was great.

  • Martin was inspired by the 70s film Martin by george romero

  • I am 11 and I love Soft Cell.I really wish the youth of today would also listen to some more 80s classics! This song,as well as Sex Dwarf, is so dark and it just would be a great halloween song.My birthday is the day before haloween,so i will definately be blaring these songs! ;)

    LOVE SOFT CELL!!!!!!!!!!!!

    xxxxx

  • he's simply the best

  • Noch heute ein Tanzflächenklassiker! Love it!

  • Ohh yeah..

LOVING the T.O.P.Y.(Temple Ov Thee Psychick Youth) patch on his lapel.. ~nice~

  • WONDERFUL track...I NEVER knew there was even a video for Martin...But, whats up w/ the bored and jaded looking crowd?? Its Marc Freaking Almond...dayum!?!?!?!?

  • Comment removed

  • I never knew this side of Soft Cell! This is brilliant!

  • This song is... Amazing.

  • This song is way too dark for when it was released. It is brilliant, and I have to wonder if it would have been better received had it not been the mid 80's

  • Great!!!! Thanx for posting.

  • Man, that crowd sucks.

  • This song fucking kicks ass

  • "otto or up with dead people" should've used this as soundtrack! tho it's quite overblown - "martin" is closer to vincent price as teen counselor:P

  • thanks for posting this...awesome. martin was a george romero (dawn of the dead), film about a teenaged vampire. really good film and great song.

  • What a fantastic video.

  • Best Soft Cell song evar!

  • "Martin is talking to you"!!!!!!!!

  • What's with the audience?! Some of us would kill to have been there...

  • Probably spellbound - this was pretty heavy for it's time.

  • nobody is dancing? i would be going crazy :P

  • one of the best songs ever

  • Dose anyone know if this song is based on the Romero film it sounds it.

  • @natesot,that's probably right.I have no idea who or what it's about, clearly some horror story. I still have this on vinyl. I can't believe that was recorded live.He is such a good singer. Please does anyone know?

  • @TheAlienFan I would love to know if you see the film Martin these is so much in common with the song.

p.s I also love Marcs voice i have thought he is one of the best singers since i was a kid back in 83.

  • I think I saw a movie like that. Was it a vampire movie by any chance? We're going back a long time here I think : )

  • Yea, i think the film came out in the 70s, it was called Martin, about a boy who had bad dreems thought about murder in a small town was isolated and alone then learned he was a vampire he used a razor to cut the people because he didnt have vampire teath. Was kinda a modern vampire story with more about the obsesion and sickness of not haveing blood. Its a great take on vampires, especially now with all these dumb movies and books out. The tween ones.

  • This song hence becomes the song O death,.... Oe democracy/1

  • THE ART OF FALLING APART lp a must have,

  • Quite simply the best thing SC ever wrote ...EVER. Was always the record played at parties back during my earlie 80's youth that got everyone up dancing. This shortened version doesn't even begin to do it justice. If anyone hasn't heard the full version in all it's majestic glory then I recommend you purchase "Art of Falling Apart" CD for it's inclusion among the bonus tracks. A masterpiece!

  • @lilmisspino,does it have the Hendrix melody on that too? I loved that, would be good to hear that again

  • TheAlienFan - It most certainly does include the Hendrix Medley. All glorious 10mins of it. You'll also find the extended version of "It's A Mugs Game" which runs it a close 2nd. Get it now :-)

  • My favourite Soft Cell song (b-side is "It's a mug's gams", also worth a listen). Does anyone know where the original (butchers ...!) Sex Dwarf video can still be seen? I really really would like to!

  • What a way to creep out your audience! (Awesome)

  • Is that a mullet!?? Please say it's not a mullet....

  • Yes, it's a mullet. You might wanna check what year this made.

  • 80's-best decade

  • I LOVE THIS<333!

  • This song is very dark, it sets you in the right mood. and marc almonds voice is just brilliant.

  • greaaaaat

  • GREAT LIVE// THANX//

  • Truly brilliant. I loved Non Stop Erotic Cabaret but the Art of Dalling Apart topped in with gems like this. Pity it didn't get the commercial success it deserved. The critics loved it.

  • Brilliant.

Soft Cell produced and wrotesome of the best hits of the early eighties. Their performances always talked about and seeing this video is testament to that.

Its no wonder s.s's music can get so many possitive comments.

  • This is truly great.

  • check out ghost rider by mark and clint ruin (that will fuck you up ) *S*

  • Gosh I love this Twink!!!!

    soft cell is the best!!

  • Reminds me of a lot of good times I had listening to Soft Cell. A lot of careless fun!

  • Does anybody know were i can downloard this ?? I have been everywere in DK for some Soft Cell records, but can't find any :(

  • the propper version os about 9 mins long aint it?

  • Used to love dancing in The Warehouse to this !!

  • This song scared the SHIT out of me!

  • Wow! A live performance of my favorite Soft Cell song. This is such a great example of Goth/New Wave crossover. I spin this track all the time in my DJ sets. Usually right after Sneakyville by Secession.

  • I am a retarded stoner. I just realized I posted a comment to this video a year ago LOL.

  • MARTIN is a boy with problems......igual que yo

  • i´am martin ^^ and i love this song

  • Love this!So far from the s thats out now!

  • Marc is very poetic and I like that..

    Ernest.

  • So Ok, Pine, you shoulda left it alone, you know Marc is doing his best, ok. everybody got their own opinion..

  • its from the movie... martin

even the voice calling martin was sampled( stolen)

check the movie its a classic

and i love this song, and i do indeed love martin and his sexy times

  • The UK has had great bands and singers.

    Cool matey

  • the darkest song from soft cell. mark almond has a unique voice.

  • And it sounds so great with this type of song... Dark and Melancholic..

  • Ma chanson preferer.Le must.Vive Marc almond!!!

  • On the art of falling apart.:)

  • it was a free 12inc single with the art of falling apart lp,jan 1983.

  • LOVE YOU MARC

  • @ARTHURSTAR Touche!

  • The lyrics to this song are brilliant and Marc is such an amazing showman who brings great passion and feeling to everything he sings (even though he can't sing in tune).

  • Wow, what a tune! You'll never hear a tune as cool as this on the tediously, mudane, boring, same old same old, repetative, Simon Cowell owned comercial radio!!!! Thanks for posting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it is based on the 1974 horror film titled martin

  • Soft Cells best song ever. MARTIN, MOTHER IS TALKING TO YOU!

  • This is my fav Soft Cell song.

  • The idea from this song comes from the film "twisted nerve" and its very significant in its own wright-check it out !

  • Wasn't it inspired by the film Martin (the Vampire)? I'm pretty sure it was :)

  • i think it was inspired by that martin scorcesse movie..?

  • Thanks for putting this up. One of Marc's less well known tunes. The time it was released I seem to recall a moral panic in the UK about what were called video nasties, leading to several films being banned outright...

  • Uno de sus mejores temas oscuros, es una pena que sea tan poco conocido en España, este tipo de temas son mejores que el Tainted Love mil veces!.

  • Great song

  • Wonderfully dark!!! Gotta love Marc & Dave!!!

  • a gothic masterpiece.

  • Really interesting song-probably be rediscovered and become a hit in 2130 or thereabouts! Interesting and quite intrigueing tune, melody, structure.looks like it was a VERY good gig.

  • It will undoubtedly be THE hit of 2130. Marc is just amazing. I cant find words to describe him.

  • to sad that marc properly is dead by then...

  • How about 'Marc rules'! :)

  • Hmm, the reply function doesn't seem to be working so all my comments have come out in a list :( Bet this one will work coz i'm replying to myself, sods law???????

  • I spin this track all the time in my DJ sets. It's even on a recent mix I made for people to download for free called "Unveiling the Secret - The Dark Side of New Wave".

  • that's everlasting!!! and so is marc almond

  • he just look sooooo hot... really

  • marc almond got a gr8 voice^^

  • this song is very spooky but really goood!!!

  • never seen before..one of my preferred s.s. tunes...thanks x posting :-)

  • This is so GOOD!!!

  • no comments, very cool!!!

  • Inspired by the George A Romero film "Martin" about a boy who thinks his a vampire !

  • how can those stupid people just be standing there? i saw soft cell's last show at the hollywood palladium in 1983 and the crowd was nuts.. running up on stage and kissing marc.. it was a fantastic 2 hr performance that i will never forget.

  • Hammersmith Pallas - I didn`t make it !!

  • It makes even a bald mans hair stand on end with emotion!!!! Bring back the 80's!!!!!
