  • Maybe it would be better with mustache bars. I like the frame design a lot.

  • You are right, they are dorkier than bar ends.

  • Finally a reasonable use for dorky bar ends.

  • What bar ends? Update on this bar:

Still my fav ride and a for sure 2 MPH improvement with tucked.

  • But when I need to hunch down and employ some hamstring power, I lean forward and grab a set of MTB horns which protrude directly forward like little elephant tusks. My elbows can then rest on the grips like yours do. It's very comfortable when going up hills, because my upper body can rest completely while I'm in a powerful position. In fact, it's almost as comfortable as my recumbent...but not quite ;-)

  • Since my gut has shrunk (video shows me at 18 pounds heavier), this bar is really working great, more aero, and great for climb and acceleration. I barely come out of the seat, and can really get a huge increase in power.

  • Those crank forward bikes look interesting. I used a similar 'whisker bar' concept on my own bike. My handlebar grips are really high---maybe about 25cm above seat. It puts me in a perfect upright position when I just want to rest my hands.
