  • Anton look like a dude I went to school with...but it's prolly not him...

  • Art Tatum sent me here

  • Passengers will please refrain/From using toilets in the station

While the train is standing/I love you.

We encourage constipation/While the train is in the station,

If the train can't go/Then why should you?

And now that I've ruined it for everybody....

  • @MsPandaRosa I'm moved to tears... of mirth :)

  • Damn wolves

  • hey!!! that guy stole my name!!!

  • @benedicimuste Das Aussehen ist nur oberflächlich. Ich glaube nicht, dass es genauso wichtig ist wie du denkst.

  • მიყვარხარ...

  • this is one of the greatest melodies every composed

  • In my opinion there is not many pieces of music that can paint a landscape of a sunny day in a forest in winter that well like this one ;)

  • i could play this, till i took an arrow to the knee .-.

  • @jesseemmons79 what?an arrow to the knee?

  • oh gosh so beautiful. of course, when i play i butcher it soo badly ._.

  • @PizookieAmy me too unfortunately

  • I remember as a child listening to my Mother play this ... she only played the very first bit and only confessed to me much later that this was the single piece she remembered from her childhood lessons. And that she'd hated piano lessons. Except for this one fragment of music, which she loved. I loved it so much I eventually became a professional musician ... This brings back memories of my Mom and her one favorite piece of music.

And it's so beautifully played in this clip. Thanks.

  • 1:12 What a bluesman

  • Ačiū Tau!

  • I am from Czech Republic, just like Antonin Dvorak (Antonín Dvořák). In Czech he is very popular, and everybody like him :D I think, this is his best song :)

  • @Megina99 I also like Smetana!

  • the little einsteins!!! :D

  • This was used as a popular dance tune as well!

  • I've heard this piece from other places many times before...can't even think of where. Lovely music nonetheless.

  • He looks like a Lenin at 00:35

  • Augg. Such a shit performance.

  • Zachwyca:)słuchając takich dźwięków mam wrażenie,że samą tylko muzyką żyć można...

  • it's so happy at first

then at midway, it starts to get sentimental and elegant

  • if there is one composer to love unconditionally it's dvorak...

  • Folks ! Please please do listen to David Garret's rendition of the same in the related videos !! Its one of the most beautiful sounds I have ever heard :)

  • I love play it :)

  • Wonderful

  • Despite being composed by a Czech dude, this song would be more than fitting to an idyllic, pastoral rural landscape in America or Australia.

  • @grail68 Why? Do you know the landscape in the Czech Republic? This is pretty much fitting to the idyllic, rural landscape in Bohemia, with its fields, low hills, wavy surface, cultivated forrests. I can imagine this as good musical illustration of Pennsylvania or such American states, but it's senseless to say it fits MORE. Australia? Australia is hot, unhospitable country...and it's not a song anyway.

  • @Zik2 Jeez louise, I didn't say it was more fitting to Australia than the Czech Republic. And for the record, Australia is not inhospitable. To say that Australia is all desert is to say that Russia is all barren tundra or that Brazil is all rainforest, and you and I both know that is not the case.

  • @grail68 I would say it fits our country perfectly :)

  • We went strolling through the park, and goosing statues in the dark,

If Sherman's horse can take it, why can't you?

Buffalo Bill, alas, alack, we pinched his nose and scratched his back,

If Buffalo Bill can take it, why can't you?

When we fooled with Atlas, covered him with a mattress,

hung a tie from Caesar's fly, oh boy, what fun...

  • How can this help you study if overflows your imagination?

    Dvorak #1

  • This piece was NOT created to help you study!! Holy crap people. lol

  • 1:16 . . . beautiful!!!!

  • this really help me study. omg.

  • so simple, but so beautoful!

  • i know this song from animation LARVA.

  • Happy Birthday Dvorak! :D

  • I just got to learn pieces like this, so as soon as I heard this, I got the sheets. :)

  • Mě se ta humoreska od toho Dvořáka líbí nejvíc.

  • Guy Lombardo did a version of this song only alot faster

  • This piano piece is actually harder to play than it sounds. just informing all of you

  • The whole piece is great, but the part at 1:18 is truly wonderful.

  • This is my first solo that i ever played!! (Cello solo) Gosh, does this bring back memories. : )

  • What a beautiful music for a movie opening

  • It should be mentioned that Dvorak wrote this song in the 1890s. That's amazing, but what's even more amazing is that there was another similar tune written about 40 years before Dvorak composed his Humoresque No. 7 (written in 1851 to be exact). This "original" song called "Old Folks at Home", written by Stephen Foster, is considered to be a great American classic. The Library of Congress's National Jukebox provides a version in which the two songs are played together and sung by Alma Gluck.

  • This is an awesome song! I just got the sheet music! =D

  • The painting at 0:34 is strange.

  • Great! I can feel the slavic spirit in all of Dvorak's masterpieces! Greetings from Bulgaria :-)

  • 1:17 <3

  • Wonderful. I love it.

  • @ozik1995 Humorerectile Dysfunction?

  • @swordchucks4life co za asy!

  • @ozik1995 Hey, that's what Brahms is for.

  • I liked how this tune was used alot in "Toxic Avenger Part 3"!

  • Ooops, I think this piece is gonna be stuck in my head for weeks :S

  • Passengers will please refrain from flushing toilets while the train is standing in the station...

  • played this with a brass group, sounded great, but nothing compares to a great pianist performing this piece =].

  • he looks like a homeless, but his music was excellent

  • I love it.

  • nigga just cried.

  • This is so gorgeous piece that it cannot be expressed with words, just only by music! Great!

  • he should use more pedal and less ternary form

  • @l4hi7u

    lolwut

  • @wardatulr whatever it is you are on, i want some.

  • so good!

  • pause at 1:38 hilarious

but then again this is a lovely song :)

  • This helps me study. :D

  • Then again, there is Mendelsohn's "Songs Without Words" which are also very beautiful short classical pieces--whatever we term them. Be that as it may, this is a particularly beautiful and moving piece.

  • People, please, the majority of what you say is true of course, but! This is not a SONG! It´s classic, master piece, composition or whatever but mainly not song!

  • I've heard this song played on a violin before

  • 8 People hate classical music O_o

  • My replay button is frozen... Here's a new one! @0:00

  • 8-mi Justinům Bieberům se to nelíbí.

  • Velmi si vážím Antonína Dvořáka. Děkuji!

  • Es como un sueño escucharla. Me imagino lo que sienten los que la interpretan.

  • David Garrett Version is better

  • at 1:50 it looks like there is a cat is his jacket!!! haha

  • Seriously good stuff. This piece gets better and better every time I listen to it. Especially like the minor part, outstanding!

  • Stunning! xxx

  • POOYAN HAHAHAHAHAHAHA ....

  • i love puffin blunts to dis ish

  • Tempo's rather too bouncy for my liking, but a great piece nonetheless.

  • beautifully put together!

  • co za asy

  • @TaamNerbys

    RWJ RULES MAN!

  • co za asy

  • spicy interpretation - mjam !!! =))

  • You just imagine the moon when you hear this song

  • @adamup99 curious... I would never interpretate it like that, lol

  • mne sa zdá že táto pesnička bola aj v The Sims 1

  • @shrineheart87 well said.

  • Ahh americans here. Shit.

  • hAHHA

  • Something superior, passionate but peacefull and noble! Absolute beauty of music art and geniality.

    It's obvious Czech art!

Něco skvělého, vášnivého a přitom klidného a vznešeného. Naprostá krása hudebního umění a genialita.

    Baco víc, je to české!

  • Tohle zahřeje na srdíčku, ta melodie! Krása...to dokáže složit snad jen čech!:)

  • I am proud of being Czech!

  • @TheKateDave

Did you write this song? This is Dvorak's accomplishment, not yours nor any other Czech persons. Ethnic and national pride is for idiots.

  • @hogo1 OMG! Your stupid, sorry! I didn't write that I have written this "song".....AND: to be proud of some persons from my country ( musicians, sportsmen...)...it isn't anything bad...

I am also proud that we have a beautiful nature, countryside......so am I idiot because I am proud but I am not God who made it!!!!?!?!?

  • @TheKateDave yup, you're an idiot.

  • @trumpetplayer444 no you are because I doubt you have a true reason to write it.

  • @TheKateDave Actually, I do. See my reply to hogo1's comment below.

  • @hogo1 it called national heritage of culture duno from witch country you are Katedave but all Czech is as Dvorak, you shloud knew it! May you ll have luck to meat one.

  • @hogo1 Completely agree. I find it terribly idiotic that an individual would take pride in his or her place of birth, ancestry, racial group, etc. when he or she has no control over such things. What reason does a ten year old born in America have to be proud to be an American?

  • @trumpetplayer444 You find it terribly but I don't.There is not anything bad ..haha American has no reason because he or she is American..:D maybe?...no, bad joke...but that is my opinion so you needn't call me "idiot" THANKS

  • @TheKateDave I couldn't understand half that reply. Do you not speak English fluently (seriously, not a sarcastic question)?

  • @trumpetplayer444 your should respect pride and honour of other cultures. Dvorak became a composer in czech culture, czech society, so all Czech people should be proud of him.

  • @163linker This has nothing to do with respecting other cultures. I have great respect for Czech culture, for it has produced fantastic works of art, music, etc. What I don't agree with is taking pride in those achievements merely because one is Czech.

  • @trumpetplayer444 why not?

  • @163linker Because being Czech is not an accomplishment, any more than being male is. However superior Czechs may be in comparison to other ethnic/national groups, the fact that one cannot choose to be an ethnic Czech means (to me) that there is no reason for which to be proud of that characteristic. Gratefulness for one's heritage or to one's ancestors, as well as respect for one's culture/nationality/etc. is of course acceptable, however.

  • @trumpetplayer444 Of course, your cant choose to be Czech, but you also never lived in czech culture, never speak czech and never have czech mentality.

There are allways levels of proud: for example Yuri Gagarin flew to space, all humankind was proud of being humans in that day, but Soviet people were more proud(because space program - service of all nation). same with Dvorak: everybody loves his music, but exactly czech people and czech culture brought up that genius composer.

  • @TheKateDave jedne slovo - blbec. jsem nerozumim jak mozna hanbit kogokoliv za ohled do vlastnego lidu.

  • @TheKateDave me too:) We have one of the most beautiful countries in the world. We just need to sort all that mess in politics and get back to where we once were......a great nation...........:) Peace

  • @chlopen1 kde Ty zyjes?

ps: pekna hudba, jsem zamilovany :) Greetings from Russia

  • Someone needs to make a movie about him with Paul Giamantti as Dvorak.

  • Mil gracias !!!!!!!

  • i just wanna get up and have a little happy dance with someone when i hear this song

  • magnificent! bravo!

  • Where is that orchestration by Henri Wood I heard yesterday????????

  • As joyous as Ode to Joy. I have this in a music box. It is delightful.

  • @Gibblady

    Jealous!

  • As joyous as Ode to Joy

  • I've been playing this on flute way too fast o,O

  • It was originally written for the violin.

  • @oliverotcasek

it was originally written for piano, this is the original version

  • Sounds like Heavy Horses from Jethro Tull!

  • @captainkane1984 Yes! This must be a deliberate quotation (from 1:18 onwards) introduced into The Heavy Horses by Mr. Ian Anderson himself, the fact being even more funny because that he took these 20+ seconds from nomen omen ...The Humoresque. Another reason to love this incredible band The Jethro Tull and their highly gifted front man Ian Anderson. I saw them live last year and I was amazed how good they were!

  • @piosta18 Saw them at Wolftrap (D.C.) last June. They are very excellent live. I met Ian Anderson. That man is a terrific human being and a genius!

  • @captainkane1984 Congratulations! Never had a chance to meet him in person. I saw him and the band live last year in Warsaw, Poland. It was a superb concert, one of the best I have ever been to. Long live music!

  • I definitely like the piano version of Humouresque better than the violin version.

  • This song was played on Animaniacs all the time. I've found my love for classical from Bugs Bunny, Animaniacs, loony tunes and all the good saturday morning cartoons.

  • @Synrikeman Wuutt, no way.. is there an episode i can check out?

  • @CrzybuthatsHowItGoes It's been quite a long time,If I remember correctly, they always played it on the slappy the quirrel cartoons. I know it's been played in several episodes so I'm not sure on any specific ones. just search around and you will eventually find it. good luck. :)

  • @Synrikeman Cool, i'll start with some Slappy eps then lol. Thanks!

  • This song is so nice :D

  • i feel like im in the 1930s
