Thanks for posting this scene! It's really heart-warming to know that there are people who also appreciate this work of Michel Gondri. The charaters and their feelings and dialogs, the way how the film is made, the music - everything leave such a complex feeling after. Well, amongst many films I like this one I really love.

stephen is cardboard. stephanie is fabric. she's a fairytale,completed by stephen. the boat finally finds the sea. but like Gondry said in the commentary,i believe the final scene of the film was just a dream. i don't believe they she wanted him,too.

@mouthofknives there are a couple of things that go against this.

The night before where Stephanie helps him into bed, she obviously has feelings for him when she whispers in his ears. Also, she was waiting at the diner for the date so that had to mean something.

Stephan just needs to fix his problem before anything can happen (he also has a problem of acting childish in a bad way)
