The comments on it being about money. Well for Gene I'm pretty sure it was. They had a very long term contract with conduct clause & NDA among other things. They also had help every album by outside musicians some of them composers & teachers. During the first solo albums Gene blew a tantrum while the others behaved. They have had to put up with his attitude problem for years now. Frankly I don't mind if he gets replaced but I haven't talked to Steve in years & he was one of the backers.

Its funny listening to old people who grew up in trailer parks (and probably never made it out) whining about Ace and Petey. You have fun with your little childhood memories, heck, maybe you can even go see those two talentless geeks struggle to fill a 300 seat club. KISS was always about songs to me, meaning Gene and Pauls stuff. Im a grown man, so I dont (and never did) care about makeup - it was always about the tunes, and with few missteps, KISS has always delivered.

Cool song, this was a great lineup. I really like Bruce Kullick's lead guitar in this one, he is a very good guitarist. The solo is obviously influenced by Gary Moore.

on the book Behind The Mask, Gene says they were not as good as Poison or Bon Jovi.Maybe his songs, but Paul's material (and his performance) for Crazy Nights was amazing.Those bands can only wish they'd wrote songs like this or My Way!

I like the old KISS aswell and yes I don't think the new KISS is a great as the old KISS but, I still am a big fan. Tommy and Eric don't compare to any of the other members yet they still are good. It's not just the money, it's also that there trying to please the fans though yes it's always been the money for Gene. I am currently reading his book KISS and Make-Up and I read that he said he's always had a fassonation for money but, he makes KISS a market band for the fans.

While you're right, Gene's mission is more or less just the business end, I'll bet people would not be hating on Sonic Boom as much if they thought Ace and Peter had played on it. From a PURELY musical standpoint, it doesn't exactly lack any of the elements classic KISS had. If anything, it adds upon it with some new elements and subject matter. Tommy and Eric are talented musicians in and out of KISS also

yes i lived through it. a great time with the best music ever. i feel bad because todays music is not music, it's trash. kiss had a horrible image during the 80's but had some excellent tunes like this one. it was sad to see them take off the paint... but they used to jam then, even they are wrecked these days... sonic boom is has one good song modern day and that's it. our country is fucked.

Eh, I actually like Sonic Boom. I wouldn't stop listening to it after I got it and I still have not stopped wanting to listen to the songs. I think Eric and Tommy are pretty good, there not my favorites but, I still like them. I like each band member equally. Yush I agree that today's music is trash, my parents were the ones who got me into music from the 50s-late 80s...well I found out about the 80s artist since my parents were teens in the 70s so I grew up on that music.
