  • Liberal failures who go on to politics, so they can lower the rest of us to their level.

  • @jeliaser this is from a documentary called A Lawyer Walks Into a Bar

  • screw this, here (France) medical school you have 12% succes, and I made it :p

  • You guys are dumb. This guy has my respect. He tries as hard as he can no matter how many times he's fallen short in the past. He stands tall and proud and still keeps trying. For those of you who are criticizing him, when have you kept pushing despite numerous failures? This guy is awesome

  • @JohnLong623 +1 Not only he's awesomely inspiring. Imagine the experience accumulated after taking the exam so many times. More than just taking a case, as a lawyer, about a particular subject and going back to the book to check for the answer. He's probably been too unlucky.

  • Crap - I'm studying for the CA BAR now (scheduled for Feb 22, 23, & 24th). It will be my first, and hopefully only, time. I just finished a practice PT and am feeling like crap! I have NO IDEA why I clicked on this...all of the sudden I want to throw up!

Ack - here's to hoping that my MBE and Essays can carry me through.

  • @addelia84 Good Luck. Will you come back and let us know your results. I've always been interested in Law but never went to school for it. Maybe I will someday.

  • Beware that FHTM has just recently been slammed with a 2nd class-action lawsuit in California on 12/22/10 claiming pyramid scheme, fraud and deceit.

  • you should really google "great young attorney" and/or search for on here!

  • Failed 41 times........at least he can say he's the best at something!

  • @goldsilverandiamonds best motivational videos are also collected on the e-vdos.blogspot.com

  • You can pass! Visit my website cabarstyle today and finally put the CA Bar behind you!

  • And interestingly enough, you don't need to go to law school to take the bar and become a lawyer in California...

  • I know a woman who took the driving exam 41 times. Now she has a license. Scary.

  • 41 Times??? I feel my chances are better than that poor man.

  • wow why is the bar in California so hard?? how can u pass it

  • yea, its sad how many people fail the bar...personally, I found profbamberger's videos to be very helpful, so check those out to ensure yourself that you can pass the bar

  • wow that guys like spongebob cept with the bar

  • Bob Hawley, the finest teacher at McGeorge School of Law.

Ah Labor Law takes me back...........

  • I'm pretty sure the reason California is ranked lowest in the nation is because you can take the Bar after going to an online law school. Yeah if your state allows people to sit for the Bar after three years of internet courses it's bound to be low.

  • The fact is there are too many people coming out of law school. The bar exam is there to reduce competition amoung lawyers (they hate competition). Eventually they will either need to make the bar exam easier or allow members to be admitted for specialized practice vs requiring all attornies to be first tested on areas of law they will never practice.

  • Spoken like someone who knows nothing about the legal profession. The bar exam is there to force law grads to study the laws of they state they aspire to practice in. Law school classes, with a few exceptions, do not teach laws it teaches a process of thinking. The bar is needed to force people to delve into the state specific practices.

As an attorney, it's vital that you understand all fields of law, the idea that you can hide in one field is a joke.

  • Your idealism is sweet. Who has advocated for increasing the complexity of the exam? Its not consumer advocates, etc; Its practicing attorneys.

  • The US market is excessively saturated. The Bar exam should have increased difficulty. It serves as a true measure of ones understanding of law. It is a quantifiable measure.

  • ....This is why our state is screwed up!

  • fuck lawyers

  • LOL. I would be embarrassed at failing once. I guess it should be inspiring to those who might want to give up after failing. However, he's crazy. lol

  • @cr500rebuild And you are... an A straight student who "only mingles with UC and USC people" or something like that?

  • How much does it cost each time ?

  • bar exam there is not that hard--there are just so many shity lawschools in the state producing really bad graduates who then can't pass any bar exam

  • That's a good point. There are many law schools in here in Cali that are not ABA approved. In fact, working in a a law firm for four years in California may qualify you to take the bar. Cali Rules! lol

  • *here

  • you should check out the Philippine Bar exams. 4 Sundays of the month of September. 8 subjects at 2 per Bar Sunday. 4 hours in the morning. 3 hours in the afternoon. All in essay form. Passing rate 23%-25% with an average of 5500 takers per year.

  • Bob Hawley! He taught me Labor Law at McGeorge! Does anybody know what this is from?

  • 41 times? I think it's time to give up Sisyphus.

  • Anyone who would undergo the grueling preparation to take the Bar 41 times is one hell of a human being. It's almost impossible to believe that any one person could have that much fortitude.

  • What profession is worthy of pride?

  • Bitter much? Sounds like someone failed. *points at spiderz7*

  • Why does he waste his time, 41 times?

  • Again, please, don't be so emotional about this. We merely have a difference of opinion regarding the bar exam.

Have you taken both exams? Or perhaps, you are who I think you are--you were afraid to take the California Bar and ran back to New York to do personal injury law??

You're beginning to sound familiar. Try to get a grip on your emotions. Again, best of luck!

  • I am not 27, would not claim to me, and if that's my my profile says, I will get it corrected. I was wondering where you came up with the age 27. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Meanwhile, try not to take differing opinions so personally/emotionally. Opinions are, indeed, merely opinions.

Meanwhile, why not take a swing at that California bar??!! It's not to late to sign up for July. Best of luck.

  • Ah, who's the 27 year-old lawyer?

I passed the New York bar without a review course. I have tutored students for both the New York and Cailifornia bar exams for over a decade. I'm simply giving my opinion based upon my extensive experience.

The passing scores for the mbe in New York, compared to Califoria, is lower. That's a simple, objective fact. California has two very difficult performance exams. Compare the content of the Cal PTs to that of New York. There's no comparison.

  • Your profile says your 27, did you lie on it ? I find it hard to believe you tutored students from New York to California at the age of 27.

    Very hard to believe.

  • did you start tutoring at 17? Let me guess you were also ith Hillary Clinton when she was shot attacked.

  • I passed both Ca and New York. California is more difficult.

Ask any expert in the bar field, the vast majority will agree Cal is more difficult. Look at the essay exam questions--CA is more difficult. Look at the acceptable passing rates for the mbes--Cal is much more stringent. Compare the Cal and NY pass rates for ABA schools--Cal is lower, without the non-aba accredited takers being a factor.

I'm not knocking the NY bar---it's a very difficult bar---but not as difficult as Cal.

  • Please, the California bar is a joke. I laughed when I read this post. The true words of a 27 year old lawyer. Please expound more based on your years of experience.

  • A strong MBE in CA will carry you over the top in california, too.

  • NY is widely known as being harder than CA. It's just that CA lets anyone take it, as many times as they want, so the CA pass rate is abysmal. Everyone I ever knew to take the exam in CA passed on the first try. Here in TX, you get five tries, then you're out for good.

  • I saw this video and laughed. The Califronia bar and the state is a joke. Take it as many times as you want.every non aba school hack taking every course known to man to pass.why have law school?NY is tougher. California law is the reason there are so many jokes about lawyers.

  • 41 times?

If I don't get good news in november I'll hide under a rock for the rest of my life
