  • If you look at Silver when his mask breaks off, he looks just like Iron Maidens Eddie.

  • Classic... This cartoon is so good it should be a Film.

  • James Bond ain't got shit on Golgo.....We need a live action Hollywood movie now!

  • so fucking real

  • Can anyone upload Dawson's death scene?

  • In 3:29. His head would've exploded like a watermelon, not decapitated in flames.

  • Gold had an acid trip death n silver had a burning head change XD

  • its a fact man; the physical strength of the truly dangerous psycho killers borders on superhuman. They can also absorb insane amounts of punishment.

who the fuck says Kung Fu is outdated? at least COMPLETE Kung Fu training.

  • why does Chinese Kung Fu require so much meditation?

because without it the best martial arts techniques in the world won't help you against a psycho, someone who is pure evil.

  • I wonder how well Israel's Krav Maga experts would do against psychos like Gold or Silver. The "mind" stuff of east asian martial arts exists PRECISELY because of psychos like them. The only way to be as strong, and resilient as a psychopath, is to cultivate a powerful mind yourself, but without the debilitating mental illness. Only a disciplined and focused mind can overcome a psychopath. Modern martial arts such as Krav Maga neglect that, and that is why they're weak.

  • Can anyone upload the whole final battle? With Golgo fighting Snake, the helicopters, and then these two assassins, followed by the final confrontation between Golgo and Leonard?

  • What I loved about this movie is that Duke recieved a bit of a challenge. These guys plus Snake were the only enemies I know of who were actually able to hurt him before Duke emerged victorious. In the TV series, none of his enemies even manage to lay so much of a scratch on him.

  • @MDthornton83

Does this movie remind you of NInja Scroll meets Wanted? i guess this movie influenced that Angelina Jolie movie and the graphic novel. It also influenced Kill Bill since Tarantino is a fan of this movie. If you liked this movie, check out Perfect Blue and Urosukidoji Legend of the Overfiend

  • @Johnlindsey289 Yes. It does actually make me think of Ninja Scroll and Wanted for some reason. Really? This movie influenced that Angelina Jolie movie and Kill Bill? That's odd! Cuz I don't remember anywhere saying that Tarantino is a fan of this movie. Did he ever mentioned or refrenced this movie in any of his documentations? I'm just asking.

  • @MDthornton83

Actually Wanted was a graphic novel first and i have a theory that it inspired that graphic novel. Tarantino is an anime fan and i believe he liked this movie to influence Kill Bill on the anime sequence.

  • Gold's voice makes my ears bleed...

  • @Crona12395 Imagine how Gold would do as an Opera singer? Oh boy; I bet he'd make people's brains melt in their heads!

  • @MDthornton83 Justin Bieber's vocal coach.

  • Are these guys he's fighting jacked up on PCP?

  • I wander if they related to Vega from the Street Fighter series , because they screams sound identical to his and the acrobatics are very similar

  • Thumbs up if you agree that Gold & Silver would make a great heels tag team in professional wrestling!

  • WHY DONT YOU JUST DIE! duke togo.

  • And after that, Golgo 13 has a quiet lunch.

  • Okay, I'm sorry... but grenade in mouth ≠ head still intact after explosion.

  • Gold looks more than a bit girly... Only flat chested.

  • Hummm..a Gilbrando role?

  • horrifying speedloader fail near 1:25

  • Brian De Palma all the way.

It also borrows heavily from the old detective noir movies. The scene where he visits his friend the clock maker, and the clock maker spins on his chair? That was straight out of a De Palma movie.

  • rewatching this it almost seems like art.

  • @Akyho yeah, seriously though, guys, I'm really into noir stuff; The Crow (first one only), Dark City, The Matrix trilogy, but, man, even by my standards of tolerance, the original Golgo 13 anime is just DARK, oh my god. Although it is mostly myth, it conveys the emotional substance of the criminal underworld. Even in daylight, criminals, killers, live in darkness. This anime conveys that just beautifully.

  • Golgo 13; bankrupting the psychotropic drug companies, one psycho at a time.

  • mmmmm grenade.

  • Golgo 13 almost got fucked up BAD on this one!! But he is the illest killer in the biz!!

  • Comment removed

  • PENGAS!

  • love how the grenade cleanly severs his head

  • i watched this movie for the first time and i was on mushroom, best thing ever

  • Gold's pimp hand is strong

  • @tonystark001 That had to be the funniest line in this thread. LOL!

  • it anime of action and assasains and nit noir.

  • Christ, sometimes you really just have to wonder how Duke gets through a "normal" (according to him) day without every sociopath, rapist-murderer, and career killer from every corner of the globe trying to fucking kill him.

The poor guy probably can't even wake up and have a decent breakfast without having some homicidal midget with a straight razor jumping out of his fridge and trying to get the drop on him.

  • @lllDevilbytheDeedlll And yet he keeps a straight face through it all. what a badass

  • I know I sound like a sissy for saying this, but, the first time I watched Golgo 13 I think I was 14 way back in1995 and, Gold and Silver scared the living piss out of me. First time a "cartoon" had actually creeped me out.

  • Why there is no American live-action version of this...Do one, Hollywood! People like us love it and we need it! The Sonny Chiba G-13 was cool, but what about this stuff?

  • @BatesKrisbates It would have to be a collaboration between Japanese studios, namely the owners of Golgo 13, the Wachowsky Brothers, and Eon pictures (who make James bond), Eon's help would be needed because they have experience with that sort of stuff, besides the character is similar to James Bond.

  • @BatesKrisbates actual production, would not be a problem, you wouldn't even need big name actors, at most you are looking at "only" 50 million dollars. The problem, would be "grown up" american audiences not knowing who the fuck Golgo 13 is, and upon finding out its "based on a cartoon," the "grown ups" will say 'I don't have time for that bullshit" despite the seinen demographic.

  • @BatesKrisbates think man; the moment movie goers in their 40's or older find out its a "cartoon," people would not go watch. Heck even as young as their 20's who aren't anime fans, and the anime fan base just isn't big enough. People are stupid, and prejudiced; despite it being animated the plot of Golgo 13 is in fact more mature than anything in a James Bond movie who, if you ask me, is MORE of a caricature.

  • @BatesKrisbates nevertheless, people don't see things that way. Think of Arnold movies; they're all cartoons for grown ups who drink beer. The fact that its live action, makes it for "grown ups" and nothing else. The movie could be good, at only 50 million, with the Wachowsky's directing, Japanese studios for consulting, and Eon writting, but the marketing would be a nightmare and despite it being well made it would be a flop.

  • @BatesKrisbates I see what you're saying though; Golgo 13 does have potential as a major production, problem is the risk is too great.

  • LMAO!!

    Gold and Silver are freaks!!

    I love it!

  • Ophiuchus123456789 u should look up DEATH NOTE. CLAYMORE and HELLSING great series not movies but classics really good and let me just say its the original HELLSING not the OVA remakes or woteva that is peace. And this GOLGO 13 is my alltime fav.

  • I loved the build up to these two guys. They sounded very disturbing and I remember the story of them being the only survivors of the casnnibal island or something.

  • I know what you mean :)

They make them out to be these complete psycho's ! ( killed a thousand marines on a desert Island with their bare hands or something )

and the way they introduce them is brill' too !

Top Stuff, I miss the old manga days, you can't find half this shit on DVD or blue ray now :(

  • I hear ya buddy (sigh)

There are some truly amazing classic Mangas but I fear I've seen the best already.

    Do you have any suggestions.

My favs are Ninja Scroll, Akira, Golgo 13, The Wings of Honeymaise and those collection of films made in the same style as Porco Rosso and the Flying Castle one....

could do with finding a good manga. They always have me glued to the screen and captivated by the art.

  • Yeah , they are all brill' !

I like anything by kawajiri ( main man behind ninja scroll, cyber city, monster city, wicked city, goku )

I thought SFII was brilliant too, and Gunbuster was amazing !

For funny stuff and absolute insanity I'd recommend Cromartie High School and FLCL, both pretty damn good ! :)

  • As far as I know, this movie marks as the only place where Golgo 13 had faced against enemies that were truly worth a challenge. Because considering the direction that Queen Bee and the current TV series has taken, Duke Togo has no worthy challengers, and all his other enemies are but ordinary men compared to his seemingly superhuman capabilities.

  • Gotta love gold's laugh! Classic!

  • god both these deaths needed some dry/cool 1980 one liners!

  • That would be fitting for someone else, but not for Golgo.

  • Golgo would've been annhiilated by these guys. Gold had him in his clutches but instead just decided to focus on squeezing his taped wound.

It looked like seething pain but he could've caused Golgo serious problems.

  • No kidding. Considering how badly he was hurt in the fight against those two psychos, Duke would have to go see a doctor to treat the injury in his midsection!

  • I hope one day I can be cooler or at least as cool as gold and silver.. fo realz

  • 0:15 - 0:16

    EEchh.. GAy moment

  • @Iori400 It's more like they take pleasure in inflicting pain. But they can be gay if you want them to be, sure.

  • Snake beat Gold and Silver don't make me laugh.

  • Well, I can tell you this much; Snake would definitely waste that one-eyed, white haired commando freak from Queen Bee. But in fact, anybody could kick that guy's ass. Not to mention he was WAY too easy for Duke.

  • True ahead of it's time. Great feel to it when the bad guys are introduced especially Gold and Silver with there custom made mob suits great would be a good movie.

  • thats probably the stupidest fight scene.. they could of made them fight a lil.. i luv to see psychos like tht..

  • Hey I kinda admire sick individuals like gold and silver......can you suggest any more anime with people like that?

  • The whole aspect of being in contact with people like that is really disturbing. But what is really fucked up is the thought that there probably people that is like that for real. ever heard of the section 8 people from vietnam?

  • Golgo is da shit!

  • thats not nice... ur lucky it was 1 month before he died

  • English: Gold and Silver

    Spanish: Oro y Plata

    Japanese: Kin to Gin

  • Silver wore that mask to cover his ugly and mutilated face. For all we know, his face must have been burned during battle. He looks like the Crypt Keeper! No wonder he wore a mask!

  • Gold & Silver were utterly baddazz. When I was a kid I was so mezmerized by these two. 1st there's the wierd screams then there's the mask and the pretty face with the creepy gaze and 1 golden eye, then of course theres the strange body suits and the fact they just dont seem to die. And to top it all off, a steel leg and a steel arm. they dont use gunz! so creativ! thier story is cool too, 1000 soldiers in the amazon in a top secrect expirament and only they survived...how cool is that? ^_^!!!!

  • I can only imagine that the things those two have been through during the survival test was enough to drive a man insane. That and their obsession for killing people must have completely altered their minds. No wonder they're insane. What explains their endurance and ability to withstand a few gun shots is beyond me. But these guys are two perfect examples of seriously disturbed psychos. Though I think Gold is crazier than Silver.

  • Yeah that superhuman aspect to these guys is so kool, just so kool. and yeah, they r totally inanse. Gold maybe even a lil more....wierd thought...hm....hafta meditate on that one. They R both even more evil than even snake, in some ways, because they arent drooling or slobbering like he does. They seem to have more refinement. eariler in the film they dress in suits. I thought yer eariler observations were all very precise. This was ahead of its time. Id like to see a re-make.

  • Is that so? Well, I think Snake was cooler, but that doesn't mean I don't have enough room for Gold and Silver. It's ashame though that Snake's background was never given or fleshed out. Some fans speculate that he was a genetic experiment of some sort. The part with the duo wearing buisness suits seemed to indicate what little humanity or curtesy they had left.

  • nice call on the suits. Its interesting to meet a fan of snake. Ive been watching the video of snake and golgo which is in related vids. I think he was some kind of government proj too. He knows marital arts, we know that. His outfit facinates me also, just tenis shoes and somehting that looks almost like a hospital uniform, like something worn by a doctor. very cool observations man.

  • I agree with you, especially with Gold. If I were Golgo 13 and I knew what type of a person Gold really is, I would of shot Silver once in the hear and gone nuts on Gold with the remaining four bullets. The part with Gold laughing and slowly crushing Golgo 13's stomach is creepy lol.

  • @MDthornton83 that's Japanese superstition, one of the negative aspects of Buddhism. Mental disorders are seen by superstitious religious Buddhists, as representing a corrupted soul, some souls are so corrupted they are borderline demonic, that is why Gold and Silver can take direct shots.

  • @MDthornton83 I know it sounds messed up, but there are Buddhists in Japan who actually believe that, namely, that mental derangement is can go as far as a spiritual level. In short, they can survive bullet wounds longer than normal, because Gold and Silver are pure evil; the animators played on that obviously to make Golgo 13 more heroic, like I stated in other comments the character is a modern Samurai.

  • Come to think of it, I can actually see that "Samurai" type characteristic in Golgo 13's personality. And I have to agree; he is a modern day Samurai.

  • @MDthornton83 no man you're wrong I'm disagreeing with you now because I just like to argue. Just kidding; even down to his amoralism he's "modern." I mean, a sense of good and evil is for the feudal era, a more modern samurai given the secular atmosphere of Japan, would therefore be amoral. Probably done deliberately and thanks.

  • I see.

  • @MDthornton83 rent the anime and check out their background story OR, watch it on youtube; someone actually uploaded it.

  • I'm way ahead of you on that one. I already have seen it. In fact, I've known this movie for at least a decade now. And I love it. It's a classic. It's pretty obscure and underrated, but it's a classic nevertheless.

  • Today's golgo13 is definitely hybrid. No one knows his origin, but untill now, the episode searching, such as a part of ethnic origin of golgo13, Slavic, Jewish, American, Germanic, British, Eastern Asian; those have been guessed and written but never to be answered.

  • "Japanese racism is what largely forced the writers to change the origin"

WTF is this? Excuse us, due to your context I can't quite figureout what u r trying to say, but I guess here. Whatever you wish, or I wish, you can't make up the fake story line against the writer. That's not smart, even if you are just kidding. Sorry to make you disapointed how the real Manchurian look like and who the model of the original golgo13 is. I just told you the story of the truth.

  • Comment removed

  • The early Golgo 13's never explained his origin, and perhaps he did look like the Japanese actor, nevertheless; there IS a manga, taking place in the late 60's, that strongly implies he's Manchurian. That story is no longer relevant in the current Golgo 13 issues, and I have typed this before, because it would make the character over 70. The original Golgo 13 was a cold blooded killer, it was explained, because he was a chinese 5 year old boy who shot a Japanese soldier that raped his sister.

  • Comment removed

  • I see wat you trying to say. None of origin related episodes are concluded. I guess you are talking about the following one episode. His sister was raped by Soviet soldier in Manchu, because golgo's father was the ruthless terrorist, who belonged to Japanese soldier. And his mother - the teacher of school in Qiqihar - Manchu - was probably Manchurian in this episode.

  • I saw that manga okay?

    That uniform WAS NOT soviet.

Show me translated scans of that manga then.

    not gonna happen.

  • Comment removed

  • The episode which u saw is ep 293 which was included in 86th comic. The title is "禿鷲伝説" it is written in 1989/2. Actually this is 8th of the golgo 13's origin related episode. And What u mean "translated scans and show" ? Dude! Who the hell r u thinking yourself? Do it by yourself and show it up and ask people if you don't believe me then. If u answer me with wat deserves nothing 2 discuss again, I don't reply to you anymore, which, I guess, would be my next answer.

  • I'm not basing it on the episode, I am basing it on a very early manga that came out WAY back in the early 1970's, it was a reprint.

  • Your comments ARE based on the episode 293. Just because since I pointed out the name of the title & all the facts to details about the episode, this time u turned to try telling a lie as u could. You've been just trying to make up as u like even the truth is completely different.

It's up to u to guess whatever golgo's ethinic origin is but u CAN'T frame up the truth in ur trying to make up the fake story. If u keep it up in everywhere like that, u would completry get to lose ur faith.

  • But, the manga I saw was a late 60's REPRINT.

    I know what I saw.

Now I am aware that some people like to confuse the issue, and do things such as tamper with the results of DNA test webpages, but I'm not one of those people. Nor would I ever DREAM of showing a manga that I tampered with using Photoshop! Not only do I not have that program on this computer, I wouldn't know how to use it!

    so there.

  • First: You broke ur logic which had made up golgo's origin. Because writer already intervewd who was the model of the early golgo 13.

Next: You failed in making up the story in the Manga. You were suggesting no 1 knows the details. But here I knew the detaile of the episode. Sorry.

Now: You chaged ur opinion from 70's to 60's. Whatever u try, it's pointless because the ep 293 was never created till 1989 anyway. What's the title & character called in ur original ep that was written by you? lol

  • I didn't break my logic; and I can't remember clearly if it was late 60's or early 70's, however I do know it was that general time period. And, episode?

there are no episodes in Manga! They're comics they're called ISSUES.

Nope, sorry, early Golgo 13 is Manchu origin implied.

  • Just see wat you've said in here, your opinion changes like an excuse of some dishonest polititian. Here is the simple advice to you again, well, you can guess whatever origin of the character, but u CAN'T frame up the truth in ur trying to make up the fake story. Ask yourself.

  • you look like an owl.

  • Come on, guys. There's no need to fight.

  • I don't care what anyone else thinks or says, I know my facts about the early comics; to me, Golgo 13 looks VERY Manchurian. I think he was deliberately drawn that way.

  • Golgo 13 is more or less an "Asianified" version of Sean Connery's incarnation of James Bond, although Golgo 13 makes James Bond look like an amateur in comparison.

Damn it, Japan! Quit taking cool fictional characters from America, Europe, and Austrailia and making them even more awesome!

  • I can believe him being Manchurian Chinese, but even his true ethnic origin is a mystery.

  • No. Check out the "mongoloid" photo of wikipedia how the original Manchurian looks like. Today's western Manchurians are quite mixed with Turkish people, they are different from original Manchurian - most of whom live in Beijing.

  • Are you Manchurian? Sorry, in fact, he dosen't look like Machurian at all. Just an anthropological fact, The original Manchrian dosen't have high nose bridge. I know pure Turks DON'T look like Eastern asian. The orininal Turks and Manchurians have DIFFERENT origin. They advented in asia, same area, but they are different race and appeared in the different time. Just a common sence. I bet you talking Manchurian who live in Wiggle - mixed with Turks. I'm talking about PURE Manchruian in China.

  • If there was live version of this film, it would be sooooo butchered by Hollywood. Golgo 13 would need two versions. The watered down PG-13 that could run up to 6p.m. and Saturday matinees, then the raw NC-17 version that can run up until midnight. Oh yeah the storyline is cool too. The story might be messed with also.

  • I think we'd be better off if Japan made another Golgo 13 film.

  • Agreed. The Watchmen was massive. Pushing the R rating to almost an NC-17 if u know what I mean as far as graphic content, so Golgo could be a go go along the same lines as Watchmen hell even Pulp Fiction.

  • why would a handgranate set something on fire?

  • I think the back ground story of Gold and Silver sacred me the most

and how they kept coming back for more

  • is the backround story on youtube, how they killed the comandos with no weapons

  • I doubt it as it was never in the anime

  • looked everywhere for it; sorry, apparently its nowhere to be found.

  • Its kind of terrifying to watch gold and silver literally rise from the dead. The bullets clearly went through vital organs...

  • Maybe there were on some damn good PCP and/or were masters of mind over matter.

  • Silver and Gold look like something out of FotNS!

  • Funny you should say that. Fist of the North Star (Hokuto no Ken in Japan) started in manga form in 1983, the same year Golgo 13: The Professional was originally released.

  • Between the two of them, Gold creeped me the fuck out more than Silver. I blame the evil clown laugh of his as well as his smile.

  • The laugh and voice sound sweet. I think one was gay. Gold and Silver both had on tight ass clothes!

  • I can believe that about Gold and Silver sense Garvin said that were convicted for "unbelievably perverted murders" and were currently on death row. As for their clothes, well, this movie was made in the early 1980s and based on the "real" world at the time.

  • Somebody other than Hollywood should a re-touch not a remake because the story is good w/o any alterations. Bring the outfits, cars, weapons, and characters up to date and the flick should be classic. Keep Golgo 13 Asian please!

  • As much as I'd like to see that happen, the "retouch" would be ruined by Hollywood writing and producing as well as the MPAA's politics. Besides, would you REALLY want some unworthy director like Paul W.S. Anderson or McG touching the Golgo 13 franchise with their dirty hands?

Also, in my humble opinion, Chow Yun Fat is the only actor to pull off a live-action Golgo 13 nowadays. Oddly enough, Golgo 13 was modeled after Sean Connnery's incarnation of James Bond.

  • The Watchmen director could do it. He showed that film some love by staying close to the story and characters. Chow Yun Fat? I was thinking of the character from the James Bond film with Halle Berry in it. He might be a better fit especially during those multiple sex scenes in Golgo 13.

  • Golgo faces the WEIRDEST assassins...

  • I assume it takes weirdos and psychos to take on an assassin of Golgo 13's caliber.

  • As many times as i've seen this movie and enjoyed it more and more, i dont know how a grenade blew his head off but didnt shred it to pieces.

  • A great movie!

Except for the bloody crappy helicopter. What were they thinking?

  • That grenade move was pwnage

  • This fight scene should have been much longer. I mean comon, Gold and Silver took down 2,000 guerilla commandos without even using weapons...

  • You can only squeeze so much into a movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 20 minutes.

  • Dumass!!!

You should have used the grenade earlier!!

And what the hell are you doing with a 357 revolver anyway. Bring a .44 magnum with explosive rounds next time you're fighting two drugged up super athletes. Srsly.

  • He didnt know he was going to fight two drugged up super athletes, did he? And what use is a higher calibur gun if you never miss?

  • Yeah, you're right! He started a joke, and tried to stop Golgo-13 from living..........

  • pwned at 3:31

  • Duke Togo is the man...

Golgo 13 is a really cool character.

  • The "grenade-in-mouth" trick was pretty neat. :D

  • Though I think Silver's head would have been blown to smithereens rather than just being blown off his body.

  • 3:25

    STFU manwhore

  • The Notorious Revolver !!

  • Haha, grenade mouth!

  • Japanese assassin vs American drug addiction

  • Holy crap!! A grenade...in the mouth!??! This is nice!!!

  • Damn...that was brutal!

  • When they were shown in the jungle, after having wipe out the majority of the guerilla by themselves, Gold had both arms, and in the prison scene, while they are being taken out of jail, he is got both of his arms too, so this golden arm he is using is a prosthetic? You think he is so fucking insane he had his arm removed only to have that device?

  • I loved their backstory. You could make a whole game or movie based on that

  • Yeah, their backstory is pretty creepy. Not to mention their looks and the fact that they don't say anything except the creepy shrieks and laughing.

  • dam i wish nintendo would make a vid game for the wii like they had back with the nes.

  • Did he just shove a grenade into that guy's mouth?

    ...THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

    I've got to watch this!

  • yep he did and if you havent seen golgo 13 you HAVE TO! its a must see legedary anime!

  • can you upload the scene when they talk about the jungles of Banzabar and all that about joint operation of the FBI and Cia

  • Word, I did'nt think it was possible to fit one of those in someone's mouth, lul 0o...He Should've shot'em in the head though...

  • Yeah, it is possible to fit a grenade into someone's mouth. Especially the WWII pineapple size grenades that Golgo 13 used, in real-life they're not that big. Well, Gold was able to take two shots, a pistol bashing, and it took four shots to the head and neck before he died. So, I figured Golgo 13 thought a fragmentation grenade ought to do the trick not to mention saving bullets.

  • Talk about being frugle x,X. TY for the info.

  • These two guys were absolutely freaky, especially Gold with his creepy smile.

  • What's also creepy about Gold is that he doesn't seem to make much expressions at all. I guess that's a result of his overall insanity. At first I couldn't tell if that was a mask or if that was his face.
